Calculation of blocks to complete a building..
In a building construction,at a standard level contract are alway awarded to contractors. It is essential for the contractor to have the basic knowledge on blocks calculation.
There are different methods adopted for the calculation. This includes: per square metre method,grid method and many more. I would recommend the following steps as the easier. These are: draw out the shape of the building from the given floor plan. Write d dimension of each side,then convert d dimension into inches. After convertion, then you calculate the perimeter of the building. Assuming d perimeter is 90 then u divide 90 by d length of a block which is 18inches. That will give u a course lay in the foundation and there are up to 13-16 courses in building depending on the nature of the land. And finally multiply number of courses by d answer you got then add 10% wastage.
