Kobojunkie:Jesus is the one good shepherd, but can a chief shepherd appoint sub-shepherds? Otherwise, He wouldn't have sent His disciples to do what He, as a shepherd, did, or even told Peter to feed and tend His sheep. Jesus is the One good shepherd, that can also delegate to other little good shepherds. Regarding God disavowing Religion, James 1:27 suggest there's is a true religion that is undefiled despite the majority of false practices, Similarly as our understanding of fasting, like withholding food for a period, differs from God's perspective Isaiah 58:6 |
nnamdi640:Sorry I am rooted to only Christianity, the only discussion I have with people of other faith is Eph 1:17-18, not to convert, but for the eyes of their understanding to be enlightened, they will do the rest themselves |
Kobojunkie:Jesus criticized the doctrines and traditions of men which transgress or seek to void the commandments of God. However, He did not declare all their doctrines as false. In Matthew 23:2-3 He advised people to follow what they taught, even though those teaching it didn't practice what they preached (Just as in today chuches) Using your analogy also: It's like saying a student failed WAEC exam because his secondary school teachers taught him incorrectly; therefore deeming the entire secondary school system false, Ought not the student go home to study the same material the teacher used to teach him? And to answer yours: Shouldn't the property owner secure his property to discourage bugglers/robbers? |
Have you ever wondered why Christianity is rife with so many false leaders? The internet is full of people saying; "religion is a scam", "there is no real church," etc. Think of it like this; God allows false leaders to test us — Paul My sheep know my voice; those of a stranger, they do not follow — The Shepherd Before delving into the "why," know this: the punishment for false leaders who speak lies is the same as that of the people who believe those lies. God doesn't attribute blame to only one side; He doesn't say; "Because of the lies that these false leaders have spoken, they have caused my people to believe in it and therefore transgress my commandments. So I will punish only these false leaders." No, instead, God shares the blame between the two. He turns to the false leaders and say: "You have made these people believe in a lie because of your false prophesy/teachings." Then He turns to the people and says: "You have listen to false prophecy/teachings because you love lies." Then God talks to both of them at the same time and says: "Because you have made this people who love to listens to lies disobey me by believing in your false prophecy, the punishment for both of you is the same (Ezekiel 14: 6- 11)" God gives them the same punishment because they are both responsible for lying and believing in the lie. The fault doesn't lie with any one party. Finally, in answer to my initial question, the reason why there are so many false leaders, is because there are so many false members. There are so many false pastors because the Christians who go to them comes with idols in their heart and only wish to hear words that satisfies those idols and not the truth. (2 Timothy 4: 1-4) And there are so many false Christians because they have leaders who likes to teach/prophecy lies or speak when God hasn't sent them. I believe this answers all the questions pertaining to "Why there are so many false Pastors/Prophets in Christianity". There will be no false leaders in a congregation if its members are like the Berean Christian in Acts 17: 10-12 or like the church in Revelation 2: 2-3 whom Jesus highly commended So, if your church has a false pastor/prophet, CHECK YOURSELF; the members are certainly false, loving to listening to lies and not the truth. If a church has members who are true Christians, two things will happen if they get sent a false pastor/prophet; They will either convert the false prophet/pastor to become true, or they force him/her out of the church, IF AND ONLY IF they do not get weary. Also, if a true pastor/prophet is sent to a church whose members are false Christians and delights in lies, two things will happen: The church members will slowly and gradually get converted to true Christianity, or those who refused to be converted will be forced to leave of their volition if they want to continue living in their sin, IF AND ONLY IF the pastor/prophet do not get weary. If you are in the category of those who says that there are no true pastors/prophets, it is because you are a false member; otherwise, you will know that there is always a Remnant (Roman 11: 1-5; 1 Kings 19: 18), and you should be praying to God to lead you to one. |
