FamilyRe: What Do Women Want? by SentimentsHub: 3:18am On Aug 20, 2025
I get where you’re coming from, but I think the bigger picture here isn’t really about gender—it’s about trust and communication. Yes, marriage doesn’t automatically give someone the right to invade every corner of their spouse’s life, but the fact that your wife felt the need to check your phone suggests she may be feeling insecure or disconnected in some way.

It’s easy to frame this as “women vs. men,” but in reality, men do exactly the same thing in relationships when they feel uncertain. Snooping is often a symptom of a communication gap, not just a question of control or privacy.

You mentioned having “decoy” WhatsApp accounts, which might give you peace of mind—but it also signals a lack of transparency on your end. For a marriage to thrive, both parties need some level of openness, even if it’s uncomfortable. Otherwise, you’re both living more like roommates than partners.

So maybe the question isn’t what women want, but how both partners can build trust and honest communication so that neither feels the need to spy or hide things in the first place.

Marriage is a partnership, not a surveillance operation.
