I always use that code to set my phone to WCDMA/LTE and when I tried the smile 4glte sim, it was only the one in my phone but it didn't bring out any network bar

Try it again. But after you dial *#*#4636#*#* go to more, then enable data connection first before you go to select LTE only. Sometimes if I dont enable data connection first, before i choose LTE only the signal bar doesnt come up

What you do is go to your dial pad, Dial *#*#4636#*#* , it will open a Menu called testing you will see under it Pnone info 1, phone info 2, battery info, usage stat and wifi info. If your smile sim is in sim1, select phone info 1 or if in sim2 select phone info 2. Then select More option and enable data connection. After that you scroll down and change preferred network type from TD-SCDMA, GSM/WCDMA to LTE only. Then the 4G will come on. Whenever you put on airplane, just repeat the process to get the 4G signal back.

What phone is this and How did you get your smile 4g to sum to work on miui

I have tried all possible tricks to get my smile to work on my RN3SE without luck. Only solution was to flash ASOP rom, but im too much in love with miui to use another rom

The phone is Redmi 4A. I bought it because it supports Smile's 4G band 20. From what i read here, only two xiaomi phones supports Smile's band 20 for now. They are this redmi 4A and Note 4 Global. So I dont think your phone will work with Smile even if it is 4G because it does not support band 20. There is no trick to that. I stand to be corrected by my ogas at the top

Smile is the only 4g network with strong signal here. But the plans I saw on there website no be here at all.

And their speed too.

Smile data is expensive. They have two unlimited plans .Unlimited lite for N10,000 with fair usage of 30gb and unlimited premium for N19,800 with fair usage of 100gb

Set your apn as ntel

Then go to settings and make sure that the ntel sim is set as default for data. Don't bother going to preferred network type thru settings

From dialler *#*#4636#*#*
Select the sim slot which is he ntel line is in and set as LTE only.

Go back to sim settings and select the other line as the default data sim. Then switch it back to the ntel sim for data.


You've got 4g.

If you tamper with preferred network type through settings then u have to go and set it to LTE using that code through the dialler.
No need for manual network search

Thank you both so much. I have been unhappy since i bought my redmi 4a, because i could not get Smile 4G to work on it as the reason why i bought it was support for Smile's band 20. The Smile signal only came up when the wifi was on and went off as soon as you put the wifi off,so i felt the phone had issues and was hoping that update to Nougat would correct it. But as soon as i saw your post i decided to try it out and hurray the Smile 4G signal is live on my phone. Thank you, Thank you and thank you for sharing. That is why i hang around here than i do on facebook and my friends wonder Why

I just noticed that the smile 4G signal appears on my redmi 4A when i am connected to wifi but it disappears when i put off the wifi what could be the cause? Any idea on how to fix it so it works without being connected to wifi? thanks

I have been trying to get my redmi 4a to work with Smile 4G to no avail. Smile uses 800mhz band 20 and redmi 4a supports band 20 but yet it is not working with smile No signal Why is that. Na me dey help people do their own for office lenovo,techno etc provided it supports band 20 it works. I need help oo make shame no catch me
