flinspiero: U earlier said dat he was a popular nigerian footballer in U.K and u are nw saying dat he doesnt play in a popular club. How much do u tink dey pay those England divison 2 players??...Just respect urself and stop commentin on dis post,u tink say everybody na fool
U could guess from now till next year, u would never guess who it is! I don't think everybody is a fool, but I could make you an exception.

To all of you that offered advice, am glad I had this discussion, to others who bleed negativity, please try to rewire your brains,it is not alwaz about sex, some people actually have dignity.
To those that think it is a story...it is my story right now. Was a dilemma, but I made my choice. Money cannot buy happiness, as lonely as my client is

I summoned the courage and had that chat with him on phone after work today...
I apologized for the reaction he got from ‎me because I didn't expect it. Also, I didn't have an inkling he had any interest whatsoever in me, I assumed what we had was professional, and at the worst was platonic. And the response I got baffled me
These rich people are very lonely people! He assumed all my dedication to him and his accounts were as a result of my devotion to him.. I am more like his only friend and confidant who is not interested in what I can get from him.
The thought of marriage didn't occur to him until I told him of my break up years back, and he wondered how someone could let go of an 'angel'. Many times he summoned the courage to tell ‎‎me but it always seemed like a wrong time, and he procastinated, he also envisaged the response I gave him and wondered if it would be worth it.
It was only unfortunate I declined, but he was glad he asked nevertheless.
I apologized again, and made him understand that is how I treat all my clients, even female clients. There is an old woman I practically dedicate my wednesdays to listening to stories from 19twenty something while consolidating her portfolio.

I then asked if he wanted a new manager, he said he would consider it, but for now, I was doing a good job with his portfolio and he really want us to remain friends. He also askeD again if he could be be of any help towards my wedding. I told him I would update him b4 then(I actually need the money bad bad)

babyface333: Even though this looks like a story to me i will still make my own contribution.

@ Op you can decieve some people but not all. You are sleeping(se.x) with the footballer, i can bet my life with that. Now you are in a dilema that you are about getting married to your fiance, the one your claiming to love. Your original intention is to come and ask nairalanders if it is advisable to continue sleeping with the footballer as a married woman, but you dont know how to ask us.

With your story of all this things the guy does for you, vacations in europe, hotels etc. just tell us directly that you are confused on whether you should continue having se.x with the footballer. Then i will advise you on what to do.

Lolzzzzzz............... do you think everyone on nairaland are kids?

Carry on jare nothing do you, but make sure you carry you fiance children and not the footballers own oooooooo
Gosh! The comments here are so hilarious! If I was slpn wit my client, why hide it? Am anonymous here, and so is he.

The whole idea behind my post is to talk about it, relieve the burden a little.
For those of you dat assume u knw every nigerian footballer in the uk, think again, because he doesn't play for a popular team, even the people in my branch didn't know him as a footballer. It was another guy in another branch whose father is a fan of his club that pointed out his occupation,

I can safely assume he remains anonymous here, as it will be a herculean task guessing exactly who he is!

I know one day after my wedding, I will tell my husband what I forfeited to marry him...it is jst water, passing under the bridge.

Madam Southy: Someone raised a good point, where is God in this triangle?
God gave us free will, and gave us the ability to make choices. Whatever choice I make, God will guide me through it. That is my opinion about life and marriage. The choice is mine, God will endorse it.

Pls, wake up from that dream! Na malaria be dat.,! cheesy
Lol, it is even like a dream for me sef!

I have a lot of clients, I dont think I should be 'kpansing' them all in order to do my job. U didnt also add the fact that he wanted to contribute to my wedding plans, yes, he is generous like that

Madam Southy: then u made the best decision ever and I probably think the footballer loved the way u were taking care of his finances and saw the opportunity to finally being with u,u were wrong coz u didn't tell him wen u got engaged and fixed ur love life.

He was still hung up on the fact that ur single,he was waiting for u to mend ur heart, find urself again.

For his leaving without telling u,he was still upset and m sure he needed tym to cool off!

Well that's ma opinion
thanks...I just wanted to be sure I wasnt nuts to pass of on an opportunity to be a WAG like Victoria Beckham and Nkechi Okocha lolz,*joking*

luvmijeje: Naija guyz dat's called spending and he didn't see her pant o in contrast to what we read at nairaland almost everyday mtcheew.
Op better person, what u d was right jare but don't u love ur fiancee?
He has a special part in my heart,I actually do love him, but remember I was in love with someone for 3years, who I built my life around, forgive me if I still thread cautiously. The good thing is the friendship we share, it has brought us this far, and as far as I am concerned, I'd rather opt for someone who loves me more, which my fiance does.

What is most important is that I can live with my fiance, I can spend the rest of my life with him, I am sure of that...but that crazy wow feeling of 'LOVE' u expect me to feel...I did that before, it didnt work. Now, I'd rather love with my head

Madam Southy: You don't sound like your inlove with ur Fiance.

Does ur Fiance know about your relationship with the footballer?

Can u just tell a little about the times u spend with ur friend wen u were @ his place?
Lol, my fiance has been my friend forever, I love him a lot, he is already a part of my life. He knows I have a footballer client, I also have other important clients as well.

My client has a lot of investments scattered all over the world, my job is to help manage his portfolio, and reconcile his accounts, a specialized form of banking. I have a very professional relationship with my client, even when he invites or sponsors me to UK or Europe on vacation, I tidy his accounts, visit his other banks request for his account information i will need back home. Sometimes I go to watch his matches, he barely has time esp when they are in season, but nevertheless, our relationship is very platonic and professional.

Sometimes I go the extra mile and carry out concierge services for him, which is also part of my job...I dont think I have ever been unprofessional with him to give him the wrong signals

Hello friends..
I jst need an avenue, to air my deepest thoughts. Your comments are highly welcomed.
I am a 30 years old lady, working in a bank..
During my career, I had the opportunity of meeting a lot of important people, then I met this client. He had a large portfolio that I inherited, I knew he was rich and lived in UK but I didnt exactly know what job he did while abroad.
We maintained a professional relationship, I handled his accounts properly, sometimes he invited me to UK or other parts of europe during my vacation, soome i obliged, some i declined.
One day, a colleague in another branch saw his name and told me, "madam, you get leg o, so na footballer account you de manage". I was surprised, because i didnt follow the football league, I didnt know the name of English League footballers.

That evening, I googled him, and found out he was a very popular Nigerian footballer in the UK. I emailed him and joked about not knowing his job, but now I have found out, mostly because I inherited his account and he wasnt my direct client.

I continued carrying out my job as his account officer, still visited him abroad once in a while and became good platonic friends.

Eventually, My fiance who lived abroad betrayed me,after 3yrs of dating, he returned to Nigeria and married someone else. I shared this fact with my client during one of our conversations and he sympathised with me. a few years later, a friend expressed interest, and a few months later, we have started planning our wedding..

Two weeks ago, I received a text from my client, that I should meet him at the airport, he was returning home. After work, I met him at the airport with one of his drivers and took him to his hotel, which was like a routine for me whenever he came into town.

Before he alighted from the vehicle, he told me he had a gift for me..lo and behold, he brought out a case containing a diamond ring...

I was surprised, and a part of me wanted to grab the diamond ring glistering in my eyes, but the moral part of me made me confess to him that I had just gotten engaged, and my wedding is in a few months.

He took it in good spirits..although he was disappointed, and I have tried to return to being professional with him.

for the first time, he left the country without letting me know, but we still communicate based on his accounts. He even asked if he could be of any help regarding my upcoming wedding.

A part of me wonders...why didnt he let me know all this years? He never gave me a hint, or maybe I never saw the hints, he was generous, sponsored my vacations but I never saw it in a different light. He never went beyond a handshake with me, it was always about the account or work, or general discussions.

Perhaps, if he had hinted me a year ago, when I got heart broken, I would have been delighted at the proposal but right now, it has only confused me..

Friends, what do you think?
