Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has reportedly paid for the return flight of 50 Nigerians stranded in Russia. There have been reports of scores of Nigerians who travelled to the country for the World Cup but were unable to leave, having discovered that they were swindled. Writing via his Instagram page on Saturday, Nnamdi Odimegwu, a motivational speaker, said he was in the company of the governor when he extended the gesture. A former Senator, Sa’idu Dansadau said over N1.2 billion has been paid as ransom to kidnappers in Zamfara state to secure the released of villagers abducted in the last two years. He said in a news conference in Abuja that over 3,000 people have been killed by bandits between June 2016 to June 2018. Salary of civil servants across the federation is under threat has Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) suspended meeting indefinitely. minu Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto state says death toll of the attack at Rabah Local Government has risen to 39 as more dead bodies have been discovered after 32 bodies were buried.
