King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco described President Buhari’s victory as an affirmation of the level of confidence Nigerians have in their President and promised to work with him to advance the interests of both countries.‘‘Your re-election is a testimony to the level of confidence that you enjoy among the people of Nigeria, attributable to your wisdom, experience in politics, sense of engagement and devotion to the service and the protection of the interests of the country especially as they relate to the prosperity, wellbeing and security of your people,” King Mohammed VI said in his congratulatory message. The monarch expressed satisfaction with the existing cordial and fraternal African relationship linking the two leaders, their people, and nations. He reiterated his determination to work in concert with President Buhari to reinforce the mutually beneficial relationship between Morocco and Nigeria and to give it a new impetus to serve as a model on the African continent. President Alpha Conde of Guinea also extended his congratulations, describing the re-election of President Buhari as a dose of hope for the West African region. Professor Conde expressed confidence that the cordial relations between Nigeria and Guinea will continue to get better. Earlier, President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger, who was the first leader to call President Buhari minutes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner of the 2019 presidential elections, said he looked forward to working with the Nigerian leader to further strengthen Nigeria-Niger relations. President Buhari has also received congratulatory messages from Presidents Nana Koffi-Addo of Ghana and Macky Sall of Senegal. Governor Samuel Ortom urges supporters of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and other residents of Makurdi to remain calm despite the provocation by some youths of All Progressives Congress, APC who went on rampage today destroying billboards and posters belonging to PDP within the State capital. He says Senator George Akume who propelled the youths to embark on the destruction of PDP campaign materials is only lamenting his defeat at last Saturday's election by inciting youths to cause mayhem in Makurdi and other towns in the State. Governor Ortom states that since 1999, Dr George Akume has been winning elections but those he defeated never went on rampage in town to incite youths against him. They accepted defeat in good faith and those who were aggrieved took their cases to the election tribunal to seek redress. He stresses that for Senator Akume to lose the last election and choose to embark on the destruction of campaign billboards and posters of his opponents thereby causing traffic problems in town, is quite unfortunate and regrettable. The Governor says as a leader, Akume is expected to be a good example to the young generation by toeing the path of peace in the interest of the State. He advises Senator Akume and anyone else who wants to destabilize the Benue State to respect the rule of law and approach the courts if they feel aggrieved over results of the elections. The Governor commends the people for restraining themselves from retaliating. Governor Ortom urges the people of Makurdi to go about their normal activities as security operatives will arrest anyone found to be fomenting trouble. My Dear Nigerians, First and foremost, I give thanks to Almighty God Who has spared our lives to witness another victory for Nigerian democracy and victory for our party APC. 2. I thank the millions of Nigerians who voted to re-elect me as your president for the next four years. I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful to you for judging me worthy of continuing to serve you and for your peaceful conduct.3. In particular, I would like to thank Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his masterful leadership as Co-chair of the Campaign Council. I would like to also thank the Party Chairman Adams Oshiomhole, the Director General of the Campaign Council Rotimi Amaechi, all members of the Presidential Campaign Council and other various Support Groups. 4. My grateful thanks to all those who contributed to the logistical expenses of the campaign in such a vast country like Nigeria. 5. I also thank the millions of volunteers, self-appointed overseers, canvassers, agents, escorts and sentries who sacrificed so much of their time and resources to ensure the success of these elections. I do not have the words adequate to thank them. 6. Although Saturday’s elections were relatively peaceful, troublemakers in a handful of states attempted to disrupt an otherwise orderly process. Security agencies will bring to justice all those arrested in the process. 7. I am very sad at the grievous loss of lives during these elections. Security agencies will step up their efforts to protect voters in the forthcoming State elections. 8. I would like to commend our security agencies, as severely overstretched as they are, for handling the difficult task of securing the country during the election period. 9. I will like to make a special appeal to my supporters not to gloat or humiliate the opposition. Victory is enough reward for your efforts. 10. We give thanks also to our Domestic and International observers for contributing to the success of our elections and for their interest in our country and our developing democracy. 11. The new Administration will intensify its efforts in Security, Restructuring the Economy and Fighting Corruption. We have laid down the foundation and we are committed to seeing matters to the end. We will strive to strengthen our unity and inclusiveness so that no section or group will feel left behind or left out. 12. I thank you for your support and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria Source: https://politricknews..com/2019/02/re-election-read-pres-buhari-gratitude.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44 71 Likes 8 Shares

An African adage says "When life brings unto your door lime, make lemonade out of it". Such can be said of Yahaya Usman Ahmad, a first-class student of Mathematics Education from College of Education Yola affiliated to the University of Maiduguri. According to Malik Jalingo, his friend who uploaded these images online, Usman decided to try his hands on something new and he came about this concept. This is a prototype an aircraft which was made from local materials and also from scrapped motor parts. What is worthy of note is that he built this piece from start to finish all by himself alone and guess what, he is only 20 years of age. This is not the first time we will be seeing young men develop items like this and most time after their pictures have gone viral, nothing will be heard of them again. We do hope both state and the federal government will take interest in these kids and help to nurture them to be useful to their selves and also to the country. These are some of the pictures of his plane. Created by the Corbellatis, a family of artists and designers, for their latest art project, they are collectively building a 9.0 V8-engined hypercar that can produce 1,800 hp, with a top speed over 500 km/h (310 mph). For now, there is only a set of preview photographs available of the Corbellii ‘missile’. The hypercar measures 4.67 meters long, and 2.04 meters wide, and almost every component is made out of carbon fiber. The ‘world’s fastest car’s’ design is reminsicent of the iconic Ferrari ‘P4’, and the Ginetta ‘G40’ track car. The ‘missile’ is powered by a 9.0 liter bi-turbo V8 engine that sends 1,800 hp and a monstrous 2,350 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The sheer power combined with the high downward pressure must, according to the Italian-automaker, be sufficient to reach a top speed over 500 km / h (310 mph), which would shoot it above the Koenigsegg ‘Agera RS’, and the Hennessey Venom ‘F5’, in it’s bid to claim first place for speed. The season of harmattan is here, as exciting and as chilling it may be for some people, it's one of the most dangerous seasons for any drivers as when it's not properly handled, it can cause some accidents due to almost zero visibility on the road. In some areas of Nigeria this can cause dense fog and make visibility near zero, so how do we drive safely in this type of condition. Listed below are a few tips to tackle this challenge: 1.) Allow More Distance Between Vehicles Increase your count distance by 5 seconds instead of the normal 2 seconds behind another car. Never rush or speed to get out of the fog. 2.) Drive slow and cautiously Due to poor visibility, the safest speed is moderate. This will give you time to brake effectively if suddenly there’s need for it. 3.) Use caution at all times The moisture in the air may continuously collect on the windshield, making it more difficult to see. Adjust the defroster and windshield wiper speed as necessary. 4.) Use fog lights or driving lights (if equipped) Many cars have fog or driving lights that were installed at the factory. These lights are usually mounted low, in or below the front bumper. They are aimed toward the ground out in front of the car as far as possible. Fog lights mainly differ from driving lights in the way they project the light. Fog lights often have clear or yellow lenses; while driving lights usually have clear lenses. The beam of light created by fog lights is usually wide and flat pattern; flat to stay close the road surface and minimize reflection back by fog – and wide to better illuminate the sides of the roadway (guard rails, curbs, lines painted on the roadway, etc.). 5.) Use your low beams The visibility in front of you will sharply decrease in a fog, so use the car’s low beam lights (if the car does not have fog lights or driving lights). Heavy fog conditions prohibit use of high beam headlights. The light from high beam headlights will be reflected back by thick fog. As fog thins, high beams can become more effective. Check periodically to see if the fog has thinned enough to make use of high beams. 6.) Don’t Drift There’s a natural tendency to wander into the middle of the road when visibility gets bad. Be sure to keep yourself in your lane. 7.) Pull over to the side of the road if you have no visibility If it gets too difficult or thick, pull over and wait. Turning on your hazard lights alerts other drivers of where you are. 8.) Use the right edge of the road as a guide This can help you avoid running into oncoming traffic or being blinded by oncoming headlights. 9.) Ask for help Don’t be afraid to ask your passengers to help keep an eye out for oncoming cars and obstacles on the road.
