Salman bin Abdulaziz has become Saudi Arabia’s king after king Abdullah bin Abdulaziz passed away, the Royal Court announced on Friday.

A Royal Court statement said Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received the pledge of allegiance as the country’s king from members of the royal family.

For nearly 50 years Salman was governor of Riyadh Province, a role that involved the development of the Saudi capital from a small desert town to a major metropolis.

However, when two elder full-brothers, crown princes Sultan and Nayef died within a year of each other, Salman was appointed first Defense Minister and then heir apparent.

He has been part of the inner circle of the al-Saud ruling family, which founded and still dominates the desert kingdom in alliance with conservative religious clerics, for decades.

In a royal family that bases its right to rule on its guardianship of Islam’s holiest sites in Mecca and Medina, Salman is reputed to be devout and relatively outward-looking.

A statement, made early on Friday, said his brother, Salman bin Abdulaziz became king and Prince Muqrin was declared Crown Prince.

“With great sorrow and grief His Highness Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and all members of the family and the nation mourn the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who passed away at exactly 1 a.m. this morning,” the Saudi Royal court statement said.

Funeral prayers will be held later in the day following afternoon prayers at Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Grand Mosque in the capital Riyadh, according to the statement.

Before the announcement, Saudi television cut to Koranic verses, which often signifies the death of a senior royal.

King Abdullah, who was said to be aged about 90, had been in hospital for several weeks suffering from a lung infection.

THIS IS DISTURBING! Her name is Obaeda Alubarikaobi, she has been blackmailing my name and I felt the need to voice out because it’s not funny anymore ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

She has run several scam against me impersonating me also begging and getting money from people recently she went to the extreme using my picture on city people magazine that she wants to celebrate  her 10years on stage inviting people to her event pretending to be me and I’m presently in New York and I Queensediat have been on stage over 19years.

Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe’s secret to a long life has been revealed.

This revelation was made by Mugabe’s only surviving sister in an interview with the Sunday Mail.

“He has always known that things like alcohol and smoking are debilitating and degrade the body.”

“Even up to now, he exercises a lot,” Gata told the state-controlled publication in an interview from her home in Mabelreign, a modest suburb in the capital Harare.

“I always hear from Amai [Mother] Grace Mugabe that he exercises a lot everyday and he remains disciplined in this respect,” Gata, 68, said.

Gata is Mugabe’s half-sister from his father’s second wife.

No! She would choose her path herself. My duty is to play the same role my father (Fela) played, to be her guide. I am not her life coach.

As a parent you do the best you can, by helping them understand life, until they get a grasp of their own personality. You shouldn’t live your life by proxy through your children.  But, that being said, I would like my daughter to play tennis ( she would win 2 grand slams a year)

A Nigerian soldier on a United Nations peace mission in Liberia has contracted Ebola. According to U.N mission officials, the soldier would be flown to Netherlands this weekend for treatment at the request of the World Health Organization,

The Nigerian soldier is expected to arrive in Amsterdam over the weekend and will immediately go into isolation at a “calamity unit” at the University Medical Center in Utrecht, the statement said.

This is the third case of Ebola among mission personnel, according to Karin Landgren, a top UN envoy in the country. The previous two died.

The mission has so far quarantined 16 people who came into contact with the soldier and decontaminate areas the peacekeeper visited, she said.

The Former National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and current Senator representing Benue North-East Senatorial District, Barnabas Gemade, on Thursday announced his withdrawal from the party’s primary election fixed for Sunday.

In a letter dated December 2, 2014 entitled: “PDP primary elections for Senate 2015-withdrawal,” and addressed to the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, Gemade complained seriously about lack of transparency and absence of level playing field in the way the party’s primary election was being conducted.

He alleged that “things have become so bad that no one can expect a level playing field or even any democratic action in the party’s affairs.”

It is very likely that Gemade might decamp to the opposition party to actualise his Senatorial ambition.

It has been revealed that Social media site Facebook hosted a conversation by one of Fusilier Lee Rigby’s killers five months ahead of the attack.
According to BBC, Michael Adebowale said he wanted to kill a soldier and discussed his plans in “the most graphic and emotive manner”, according to the UK’s Intelligence and Security Committee.
The ISC said the social network did not appear to believe it had an obligation to identify such exchanges.

German health authorities Tuesday took to
hospital and quarantined a 30-year-old Nigerian woman who showed symptoms consistent with the deadly Ebola disease.

Dozens of other visitors and staff at the office building were stopped from leaving for several hours as emergency services sealed off part of the street.
The mass-circulation Bild daily said the woman had fainted and told doctors later that she had recently been in contact with people infected with Ebola.
Several people who had been with the woman inside the building in the northeastern district of Prenzlauer Berg were later also taken to hospital for testing.
Berlin fire department spokesman Rolf Erbe said that because the patient came from “an area affected by a highly contagious disease, we took these precautions.”
He said the testing in the city’s Charite hospital would take some time.
“The patient was isolated inside the ambulance, the staff took the appropriate protective measures.
An emergency medic, the public health officer,arrived and the necessary precautions were taken,” he added.

Rolf Buchholz, the world’s most pierced man,
has been barred from Dubai, where he was
turned back at the airport on his way to a
hotel appearance, the local daily Al-Emarat Al-

Do you live in a corrupt state or don't realize it?

A new study claims to have determined the most unscrupulous states in the USA, based on research of more than 25,000 convictions of public officials for violation of federal corruption laws between 1976 and 2008.



A joint venture between the University of Hong Kong and Indiana University, the study also looked at patterns in state spending to develop a corruption index, in order to estimate the most and least corrupt
states in the union.

According to business magazine Fortune , the findings put Mississippi as the most corrupt state in America.

Mississippi is almost the poorest state in the corrupt,

Interestingly, the data collected for the study goes beyond what is reported in the media, with many of the cases being small.
The results may therefore surprise people, with some of the states listed not necessarily having a reputation for
being crooked.

It also means states that do have a reputation for highly-publicized corruption, such as New Jersey and New York, do not make the list.

The report said that: 'States with higher levels of corruption are likely to favor construction, salaries, borrowing, correction, and police protection at the
expense of social sectors such as education, health and hospitals.'
