I did for Mtce technician (mechanical). It was purely practical questions on majorly pumps, compressors, gas turbine, some few questions on valves and safety. No single calculation, I don't know about electrical and instrument Mtce

I sent them an email stating this same reasons and insecurity on our roads, till today they didn't respond, called their line only for the lady to be saying it's only Uyo. I guess the different insecurity news made them change their mind

Tell him to explain how the HCP woman's number he said he spoke with is showing Nairaland scammer on Truecaller and why is he using a foreign number for his WhatsApp.

That still doesn’t justify calling him a scammer. So because I’ve been active on different Nairaland recruitment threads since 2012/2013 automatically makes me a scammer? Come on, you need to reason this thing well.

Do you know how long it takes some people to search for their dream jobs before they finally get one? And mind you, this Seplat recruitment is for people with 7–10 years’ experience, even though some candidates with less experience were still invited.So what exactly are you implying? That someone like Joefab shouldn’t be on this thread just because you feel he should have gotten a “better” job by now? The way some people reason on this platform sometimes is just somehow.

For clarity:
– The operation & maintenance skill test is only holding in Uyo. There is NO Lagos centre.
– There’s nothing like “batches” for the skill test invitation.If you didn’t receive an invite, it’s not the end of the world. Just move on, keep applying, and stay hopeful. Better opportunities will come. Remember: na who give up, Bleep up.

I was able to get through to someone from HCP that called me earlier of which I missed the call. She said that based on clients request, skills test for maintenance and operations technician is taking place only in Uyo. Still trying to figure out how to make that journey.

Well that's why I have been trying to reach them, but they aren't replying their email and the phone number is switched off

But there is a center in Lagos, so why are they inviting you to Uyo when you wrote in Lagos and there's a center for the skill test in Lagos

I am in Lagos, level 2 and I have gotten email for maintenance technician skill test in Uyo

For some that is saying that both level 1 and 2 were invited, show us the evidence that any level II was invited.

Because almost all of us in Lagos were in Level II (7+ years experience) and nobody was invited. So show us your evidence not by talking.

Immediately, my time elapsed after taking the one with the same username. I started the other one with a different username, and it had the same questions, so I cooled down and ticked the numerical I remembered correctly, and equally read the verbal passages and analytical questions well before answering them.

I was invited for 5 positions to write the test, 4 were the same user name and password then one was a different username and password, all at the same time.

You are very correct, the status was "position filled" about a week or so ago

Thank you very much for this, to buttress your point further, NNPC's 2021 experience hire recruitment was canceled because the then GMD said the contract staff in NNPC are more experienced than the experienced hires that got to the last stage and he can't afford to be spending money training experienced hires on the job they claim to know. So I think skill tests would have been the best instead of all this aptitude tests

I disagree with you. Skill test are for experience hire not aptitude test. Aptitude test are for freshers. Last year/ this year, chevron advertised for experience position and all the test were skill test based on the field you applied for, TotalEnergies did the same thing and the test was skill test base on the field you applied for. Savannah Energy did the same thing and it was skill test base on the field you applied for. For experienced hire, you won't get the best hand with aptitude test

But on a serious note I want to ask a question o, is aptitude test the best way to recruit experienced hands for positions that require experience, I want to believe aptitude tests should be for graduate trainees with little or know experience in the field just academic qualifications.
My reason is that l, if you subject someone who has left school for 8 or more years to be solving one ratio, percentage work or answering one verbal reasoning stuff, you will end up recruiting mostly inexperienced hands. I think the best should have been a test that is job specific, I stand to be corrected sha

There was intimidation in the accreditation hall prior to the exam. Right after the exam, A LOT of people were humbled. I saw people coming out of the exam hall with a long face. I said in my mind, "This is it, e enter" SEPLAT-HCP, Una try ooooo

Guys let's discuss our experiences with the just concluded aptitude test as it will help job seekers in the future to gain one or two insights on how HCP/Seplat conducts their recruitment.

For me, I was totally caught unawares by the questions because it wasn't what I was expecting based on the materials that we have seen, but I had to do the best that I can do hoping for the best. Like the last person mentioned here, one shouldn't rely on all this platforms selling past questions saying this and that repeat questions, just read as wide as you can, do your best and pray to God for favour. May God grant us success to the next stage.
