It’s beyond disgraceful that Nairaland has become a playground for fraudsters — some of them proudly parading Ph.D. levels in deception. Every day, someone is being ripped off, and the moderators sit back as if they’re watching a football match. I recently came across a post from someone claiming to buy Reddit accounts. The user goes by the name Ayhisha — claiming to be female, but based on our WhatsApp conversation, it’s clearly a guy. Fake identity, fake intent — all designed to scam. We agreed on a token sum: ₦6,000. Nothing major — barely enough for data in today’s Nigeria. But this scammer — someone using an iPhone and a laptop — was desperate enough to scam me over six thousand naira. Shameful doesn’t even cut it. Because the amount was small and I assumed good faith, I sent the Reddit login after sharing my bank details. He couldn't log in at first due to my Gmail connection, so I disconnected it and reset the password. The moment he logged in, he: Changed the password Changed the connected email Set up 2FA to lock me out Then he had the audacity to lie that the password didn’t work. What he didn’t realize? I was still logged into one session — and watching everything he did. He didn’t log out active sessions. So I acted. I switched the login IP to a location Reddit doesn’t support. Within minutes, the account was automatically suspended. Let’s be clear: This is not about ₦6k. This is about principle. This is about the level of rot eating deep into what should be Nigeria’s largest online community. We now have intellectually bankrupt scammers who think ₦6k fraud is smart hustle. Is this the future Nairaland is promoting? I am recovering my account, but this person — and others like him — need to be exposed. His WhatsApp number is: +234 810 348 8637 (And yes, he likely uses others.) If any moderator still has their integrity intact, this post won’t be deleted. It will be pinned, investigated, and used to warn others.

It is beyond insane—utterly barbaric—that in 2025, a police officer would shoot and kill a twin right in the presence of their twin sibling. This isn't just murder. It's psychological torture. A trauma that never heals. And sadly, this is not the first time this is happening in Ibadan. We've seen this twisted horror play out more than once. How many times must we mourn like this before something changes? This madness brings to mind the dark days of Nigeria's past, when twins were sacrificed at birth, seen as curses or evil omens. How far have we really come if we are still watching twins die—not from disease or misfortune, but by the bullet of those who are sworn to protect them? It is not just sad, it is pathetic and shameful. That a police officer, a trained corporal, would pull the trigger because a driver allegedly drove against traffic? That is not law enforcement. That is cold-blooded, criminal, and utterly inexcusable. Whether the father (the driver) was in the wrong or not, nothing justifies pulling a gun and executing a child. Especially in front of their twin. That is psychological warfare—the kind that destroys souls and scars generations. As a twin, I have seen what happens when one twin loses the other. It is not just a death—it is a spiritual amputation. A wound that time never closes. The one left behind lives in a permanent shadow, battling guilt, confusion, and unimaginable grief. You don’t just kill one child—you damage two lives permanently. Thank God the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has stepped in, demanding justice. But that’s not enough. The law must make an example of this officer. Because if we let this pass like the others, we are telling the world that twin lives—and by extension, all lives—mean nothing in this country. Enough of the excuses. Enough of the trigger-happy lunatics in uniform. This is not just a tragedy—it is a national disgrace. Let’s see how this ends. But this time, it better end with justice. |
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday morning along Alakia Old Road and has sparked widespread outrage. Angry residents staged a protest march to the State Secretariat, demanding justice and accountability. In an official statement signed by the spokesperson to Governor Seyi Makinde, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the government described the incident as “sad, shocking, and totally avoidable.” It extended heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and assured the public that a thorough investigation would be carried out in collaboration with the Oyo State Police Command. According to preliminary reports, the victim was a passenger in a black, tinted Honda Accord driven by his father, who was allegedly violating traffic rules by driving against the flow of traffic. During an attempt to stop the vehicle, a police officer reportedly aimed at the car’s tyres but accidentally shot the student. Eyewitnesses near Gbagi Market said the officer appeared to be trying to immobilize the car. “It happened so fast,” said one observer. “The shot missed the tyre and hit the boy instead.” The student was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. |
I just hope they do something cos what will happen after this will not be funny, killing a twin, like are they mad?? I can't even imagine how the other twin will feel now cos what kind of life is this. This is something that can never happen in the western world, imagine a car didn't wait and the net thing is to open fire, look at such foolishness.... I am sure this will not end here... |
