Chrisejimadu:No increase yet. As you can see, the new government is yet to take any shape. The 35% duty is still in force. There's however a development on the current 35% duty, the customs' system upgrade that's causing delay has 'restructured' the duty. Depending on the HS Code (vehicle type and category), the duty is seperated as, example, bus, is now 10% duty, and 25% NAC levy (National Automive Council) making 35%. This varies depending on the vehicle. With this, no one knows if this is the direction of the new govt or final stage of previous admin's automotive policy implementation. PS: with this NAC, which is to fund the automotive industry, I do not see any increase in sight soon. |
