RomanceRe: Should Parents Be Comfortable Giving Their Daughters In Marriage To Yahoo Boys? by ShelfHaven: 5:06pm On Apr 22, 2025
Bobodee09:
As a parent i don't think I can ever give out any of girls to a yahoo boy. The thought always drive me nut.

I have a lil cousin who is getting married this year, we got to meet her fiance over the weekend and the guy is a G boy, he has no other skills. Some of us aren't comfortable with it but her mother isn't bother cos obviously the guy is rich to some extent.

In asmuch we now live in a completely mannerless and moraless society as a parent can you give out your daughter in a marriage to a yahoo boy.
Honestly, this issue goes deeper than just "he's rich". " A lot of these so-called Yahoo boys aren't just into online scams anymore, some now mix it with ritual practices just to get quick results. We've seen countless stories of young boys doing unimaginable things, all in the name of making fast money. Is that really the kind of foundation we want for our daughters' marriages?

When a person builds wealth on blood money, deceit, or spiritual manipulation, there's always a cost, either spiritually, emotionally, or physically. It might look rosy at first, but that kind of money brings nothing but pain in the long run.

Her parents shouldn't be blinded by flashy lifestyles and wealth today. Tomorrow, when strange things start happening in that marriage like fights, miscarriages, sudden deaths, strange behavior, who will they blame?

They can keep sacrificing their daughter futures on the altar of "he has money."

Have you ever heard someone say “School is a scam”?

Before you rush to disagree or agree, hear me out first.

Many of our brothers and sisters went to school with big dreams, good jobs and hope of leaving poverty…
Only to graduate and face unemployment, rejection, and struggle.
So yes, to them, it feels like a scam.
Because what they were promised and what they got… don’t match at all.

But here’s the truth:

Education is not a scam. It’s a luxury.

Not because it’s always expensive,
But because true education does more than give you a certificate.

It gives:
-Confidence
-Problem-solving skills
-Exposure
-Communication ability
-Access to opportunities and people who can change your life

Let’s be real, how many public school kids get this level of education? Private schools who give this kind of education are usually very expensive, not to those low-budget private schools around for the poor.
How many children sit in overcrowded classrooms with no tech, no guidance, and no future insight? Even the guidance and counseling sections in most public schools are not effective, or how many of those low budget private school will employ a teacher for guidance and counseling only?

You see, the rich don't call education a scam.
Because even when they’re in school, they’re building connections, attending bootcamps, learning digital skills, and preparing for global jobs.

While the poor are being told, “Just pass WAEC and JAMB, and everything will be fine.”

We need to fix this gap.

As someone passionate about kids’ tech education, I’ve seen how digital literacy, coding, and real-life learning can change the game for any child, rich or poor.

Education is not a scam. It’s just not equal. And real education is a luxury most can’t afford.

There's a part missing. Parents want to be sure that the person is trusted to take care of kids and not molest them. Get a police certificate or something that will make them know that if anything happens, you have authority that watches you. That's the only reason why they trust schools, it is an institution that can protect their children and there is someone to report to.
I understand the concerns and fear of parents, that's why the class is online. I will teach your kids at the safety of your home.

That's the beauty of technology. You kids can still learn from the comfort of your home and around trusted family members.

I have been a teacher for over 8 years now and I have been teaching coding to kids online and offline for 2 years now. So trust when I say the class will be interactive and engaging
