a LOT of people dont change their defaults....you will be surprised....there are a lot of Password1 out there....
AntiWailer:
Even Yahoo mail will not POP up their email in a new account. I cant argue with you but setting up email requires your email Id and password so i am still wondering about this claim.

Unless u are saying u are an exchange administrator and have access to email accounts.

Because you know his credentials which is not hacking but simply because they gave it to you in confidence or trust.

As for GTB, no need saying it looks like, Why not lunch XSS attack and come with the result.

Bros....again....nobody is attacking your intellect.....you know...yes....but....is hacking any bank in Nigeria a possibility? YES!!! a fat one at that!....i believe Nigeria can really benefit a lot from you if you channel that knowledge to accepting realities....no one is arguing ok?....spread the gist. Do not wait until a bank is hacked....Thanks!

BusinessRe: Cyber-attacks: ‘N150bn Depositors’ Monies At Risk’ by sheriffmarshal: 2:14pm On Feb 12, 2018
Exactly.....we still have a lot to do.....not Nigeria....and most importantly.....it doesnt require spending a kobo! Tell whoever cares to listen.....Cyber threats are real! and its a global phenomenon....our lives and daily activities have come to depend on these interconnections of PCs and it affects all and sundry
wonlasewonimi:
I worked in a bank in Nigeria and one day I tried and configured the managing directors email on my pc. I did the pop address and all that and voila. All the emails dropped and I could read strategic info's.

Nigeria still has a lot to do with infosec.
Gtb site even looks like a site prone to xss

Bros forget NHS. How much is NHS spending on defence mechanism ?

And if i may ask, which bank is using Access Database ? I am not talking about Microfinance Bank.

Majority of the banks irrespective of their core banking platform use Oracle Database with the latest Security patch installed from time to time.

Infrastructure on Internet depends on the Architecture adopted.

Servers on the DMZ don't talk to your core infrastructure directly.

AntiWailer:
lol.

If you have your head right there and take time to read what I posted in this thread, you will know i am not blabbing but talking as some one who understand the inner workings of Bank IT, Applications and their Security.

Until you hack a bank apart from all the phone call frauds, and cheap methods jobless so called 'hackers' like you attempt, Please shut up for now.

The onus is on you to prove me wrong by hacking a bank. Until you do that with your Iranian Hackers. SHUT THE HELL UP !.

I am a trained Ethical Hacker and a Trained Secure programmer with over a decade experience and still counting. I met plenty hopeless people who travelled for Months back then too with the aim of coming home to 'hack' a bank when they come back home. (Na 2 day)

No need to yield to temptation of exposing my identity. (When you know, you will likely cry a bit and wonder too ) grin grin.

Please my advice is that you should Shut up until you 'hack' a bank.
Name calling is not necessary fellas.....we are all learning and like i said....having two degrees in cybersecurity doesnt mean you can protect yourself....its a global ecosystem.....borderless! and with respect to Nigerian Banks, they dont necessarily have to hack the banks....theyre not after that physical money stored in their vaults.....and they can cause more harm than arm wielding criminals.........Im sure if you google atm hacks and watch a few video...you'll know you dont need a degree to make atms spew all its money....that aside.....i dont know about now but few years ago a lot of our atms run on XP, a retired OS. again, that aside.....they go for dependencies and vendor vulnerabilities....so N150b is really on the conservative.....they can actually take more!...My advice, tell anyone that cares enough to listen.....its a real threat....even someone that hasnt seen a PC before......spread the awareness!!!

How much does NHS spend on security lmao. The whole NHS with the health records of every citizen of the UK.
You will be surprised at how lax the security of major companies are. I'm not going to tell you the bank and its not a microfinance bank.

Most companies/banks networks are not segmented and the ones segmented have done a bad job of it.

All you need to break into anywhere in Nigeria is a good social engineering skills.

Forget about latest patches, zero day exploits nko. Attackers are a step ahead.
Go and read about major breaches on JP Morgan, citibank and so on.

I repeat its not about if they will attacked its a matter of when.
Good point! you should know however that the greatest attacks have always started with or leveraged on the weakest links......and having a degree or two in cybersecurity doesnt mean u cannot be the weakest link......you just gotta be aware......we all know the history of stuxnet....if you are a target.....you cannot hide! you can however, protect, prevent, detect and react; which is why it is VERY advisable for organisations to have dedicated CERT teams.
