PoliticsRe: I Would’ve Removed Fuel Subsidy In An Organized Manner – Peter Obi by shinarambou: 1:00am On Jun 19
Eriokanmi:
You're right. People like tinubu who once staged protests against Jonathan over the removal of subsidy . Only to get there and became a serial failure after doing what he once condemned and in an insensible manner
You see ehn, untill you wear the shoe, you can never know where it pinhes...

I am not even in support of Tinubu, because he didnt even reduce the size of his govt.
But, the guy think say Nigeria naa Lagos... naa why I sure say Obi go too disappoint.

PoliticsRe: 2027 Is Already A Lost Election, Tinubu Will Be Re-elected - Farooq Kperogi by shinarambou: 10:49pm On May 24
OgbeniOja1:
It's scary but I agree. I will vote Obi and I'm begging God to intervene but if Tinubu returns. I fear for the direction we might be headed.
Why Obi?
Why not Kachikwu or Sowore or someone completely different.

Isn't it obvious that Obi is so desperate he aligned with Sharia people?

But let's make a point clear....Atiku's uncalculated move and stubbornness has been leading to the denial of the choice of many Nigerians.
I am not sure you understand the meaning of democracy.

Abi, because he is the choice of Nigerians, no need for election sef, lets just make him president straight.

Don't worry. Abundance is the right word. Compared to other countries, we are an oil producing country. 7th in rank in the whole world. Countries ranked below us organize energy subsdies for their people. Even Iran when they were under severe sanctions continued to subsidize petroleum products. Nigeria has no excuse
You are missing the critical information.
Salary of 100k for a family of 8 is not the same as salary of 100k for a family of 1.

we maybe ranked 7th in terms of production, but is that commensurate to the population depending on that Oil...

You people told us for 8 years how Buhari was cleaning up the system slow and steady. You have all switched accounts to do the same with Tinubu.

Even with how he has failed beyond every measure with insecurity, you’ll still find a way to explain that if not for him, the entire Nigeria would’ve collapsed.

Your job is to defend Tinubu, we get it, but Nigerians will do their job too, which is make sure he never comes back to that seat in 2027
This is where you miss it, and one reason why it will be difficult to unseat Tinubu.

I don't defend the man, I only pointed out facts.

Also, you don't speak for Nigerians. 65% of Nigerians are under the poverty line, majority are illiterates, hungry and not on social media. Thus they will gladly sell their votes for the person that shares rice and money.

So you see... its not about being a keyboard warrior, its about being street smart, and playing the game of deceit. This, we can all agree Tinubu is adept at.

So, I will suggest you stop being emotional and be logical. Get into the streets and convince the people.

The main problem of this administration was removing fuel subsidy without any cushion. There is no country in this world where energy is not subsidized in one form or another especially the type of energy they have in abundance. This is where the pinch is, not really from naira valuation.
I agree with your point, it was hastily removed.
But it's removal wasn't by Tinubu, It was by Buhari.
Buhari, didn't budget for subsidy beyond May 31st, because he had already borrowed on oil we were yet to produce for subsidy we were enjoying.

Also, I disagree with the abundance narrative, since Nigeria's production oil capital is very low.

Compare Saudi Arabia oil at 9.51mbpd for 35 million people, while Nigeria produces 1.56mbpd for 227.9 milllion people.

So abundance is the wrong word here.

Tinubu literally changed petrol subsidy and naira valuation policies overnight, the biggest killers of Nigeria’s economy and investor confidence

Not only did he destroy Nigeria’s economy, he has made zero effort to fight insecurity or corruption or effect any meaningful reforms like police reform
The Petrol subsidy was something Jonathan had already planned, Tinubu was part of the people that protested against it, so no sympathy for the guy.
I believe when he got there, his eye cleared.

The Naira Valuation policy was the most painful, but in the best interest of Nigerians. Because I don't understand how you expect Nigeria to continuously borrow to support a fake exchange rate?

The exchange rate was fake, that's why you had high level of arbitrage and BDCs owners getting rich over night.

A perfect example is those that Got Dollar from CBN, then sold it at black market rate.

The fact that you don't acknowledge or refuse to understand this basic concept is why people will think Tinubu destroyed the economy.

In actual sense, Tinubu prevented a Total collapse of the economy.

If America decided to destroy every Iran source of incomes, economy etc like energy, oil, infrastructures. Infact if America doesn't mind Civilian casualties.. would Iran still stand and be making mouthhuh

Sad to see that the REPORTED boom has not stopped Tinubu and APC failure to crash the dollar rate as they promised, despite saving $84 billion in subsidy removal, reducing imports and borrowing to specifically defend the Naira.

Do you think that Tinubu is just stealing all the money to bribe politicians and buy votes for his reelection and 3rd term agenda for life president huh
Lol, what did I just read?
Why the shallow thoughts?

TravelRe: How Nigerian Content Creators Destroyed Japa to UK by shinarambou: 7:27pm On Nov 16, 2025
motymop:
Japa to the UK didn’t go wrong because of content creators.

It went wrong the moment the natives started feeling sidelined, housing scarcity, rising crime rates, and a belief that the government was treating illegal immigrants better than its own citizens.

That sentiment created the perfect environment for frustration to grow, and eventually pushed more people toward supporting far-right groups that are strongly anti-immigration.
Rubbish, immigrants are just the scape goat here.
Infact crime rates has reduced. House scarcity was always there. So blaming immigrants is the easy option
