Can someone go for biometrics and capture if the whole thing was a scam? We wrote down our email address in the paper given to us that day at vfs office in Abuja. The agent said I'll receive any update via the email.

You must have been denied or something which he doesn’t want to tell you. You should request for your GCMS notes if you have your application number and UCI number with you but if not, then hold his neck

Reason " They said the applicant stated business purpose is insufficiently substantiated" further more, " I am not satisfied the applicant provided reliable proof of employment or income"

he got the visa? Noted that first traveller and frequent should normally not be the same treatment

He got denied o. He used an agent that f*cked up his application which I dint get to know till after he had submitted.

He was denied due to doubts about the authenticity and accuracy of the submitted supporting documents.

The supporting documents the agent added was just Insurance, flight itinerary and hotel booking with letter of introduction and only asked him to submit his company’s CAC and bank statement! You can imagine! I don’t even submit just only those documents at renewal of my visas. And to top it all, she used fake booking and insurance for him after charging him 5M and 2M+ down payment.

Another thing you can do is have a side biz with that your savings that generates at least 1m to you per month. That will improve your financial profile by at least x3. Sometimes they wont care about your huge balance to give you a visa, they will look at what you make regularly that will not make you abscond if given opportunity. Meaning what you earn must be relatively comparable or more than what the lowest person earns over there else they would classify you a risk.

‘They’ is a gender neutral term commonly used in the western world. Because they do not know your pronouns, they safely use ‘they’ for everybody. In your case, it means ‘she’.

I think the previous comment has summarized the possible reason for your rejection. Your salary is low and the VO probably calculated 6 months of your salary for this trip which can cause doubts about your intent.

How many days did the GCMS notes takes?

Mine was 3 weeks. Applied on the 8th January and got it on the 30th January

So perhaps apply to US, Europe and/or UK first. Travel to those countries and don’t abuse the visa. Then you’d have higher chances if your intention is to genuinely visit/vacation in Canada🇨🇦.

Like I state on my post, my 6 months salary is less than 3M and I have 29+M in my 2 accounts with I submitted both.

I also have travel history which I don’t abuse my stays. The longest I have stayed in a Schengen country is 5 days and UK is 3months and that’s because it was for study.

I really want a clarity on the statement “The applicant's current employment situation does not show that they are financially established in their country of residence”… considering that ‘they’ was used, please are they referring to my job or myself?

My husband said they are probably referring to my job since I’m the only one that applied and he doubts if the ‘they’ for used for me. Please I need clarification on this and how to address this in my next reapplication.

This is the timeline of a friend who is a first time applicant

Submission date: 16/12/2024
Passport return date: 28/01/2025
Passport collection date: 29/01/2025

I was here days ago to read thread to be sure he’s not the only one experiencing this delay… so I thought to share his timeline. Hope this helps.

Think about it critically. Does it make sense to spend 10 million naira—equivalent to 20 months of your salary—just for a visit to Canada, only to return to Nigeria and hustle to earn it back?


Also, did you explain how you got that money moved from microfinance to your commercial Bank?

I had N29M+ in my account… only transferred N10M into my Gtbank account and presented both accounts statements. It’s an invitation in which the person inviting me has stated that she will take care of accommodation and feeding.

Yes I explained everything . Infact It was a document on its own. That’s what I kuku Dey use for my other applications.

Also how many years have you been working considering you raised about 20m Naira with less than 500k salary without added document of other business income or property investment. Those VO guys they vex. GCMS note should give you more insight.

You may think your profile is solid but if they convert your salary to CAD, even a sec school student earns that in Canada in a week or less so you have to do beyond your job.

Our earning power is too low in this country.

Been working over 8 years but joined my present company in 2022.

I explained the money in the account including monthly transfers of my salary from Gtb , investments and other payments in the account.

December 12, 2024- Received Emails on Biometrics Validity and request to submit passport.

Decision:

Tourist Visa issued till end of validity of 10-year passport.

Documents Submitted:

1. Letter of Introduction from Employer
2. CSCS Statement of Account
3. Scanned pages of passports showing Travel History ( Copies of expired 5-yr UK Visa, expired 3-Month Schengen Visa, valid 10-year Uk Visa valid 5-yr US Visa and entry/exit stamps from Rwanda/Ghana/UAE)

Like for me I did my biometrics 20th of June I was shocked to get that biometrics approval yesterday…
I thought some people claimed they do get the email few days after their biometrics, if yes why did mine took up to 5 months before getting the email

Nov 2023 , and i have applied for a GCMS note and it says the same thing application in process. Only got what looks like a ghost update yesterday and that is it no email or application update.

But i am patiently waiting and praying

I guess you applied from outside Nigeria, right? If so, I learnt that it takes up to 13months.. so it’s quite possible your good news is near.👍🏽
