Just like the human body with various parts, a camera is also a system with different parts, and these different parts all have different functions all directed towards capturing a great picture.

If you have handled a camera before or you are just hoping to do so sooner or later, it will be good if you familiarize yourself with the different parts that make up the camera, this will help you to be able to attain the full potentiality of the camera you are handling.
A camera is a device that captures images it uses light to capture images hence the name photograph. The camera functions just like the human eye.

With that said, the major parts of a camera includes the following:



Lens

The lens is one of the most important parts of a camera. The lens serves as a doorway through which the light which helps the formation of the image passes through. Lenses could be permanently fixed or could be removed that is interchangeable. It is the lens that helps the photographer bring the lens into focus. Lens vary in terms of size and the different functions they perform, different lens have their different distance range within which it can focus effectively these distance range is always in millimeter (mm). Also it is the lens that determines the aperture of f-stop on the camera.

It should be noted that the type of lens and the quality of the lens being used will affect to a great extent the sharpness and overall appearance of the picture.
