Barcelona’s five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi was forced off in the first-half of the match against Sevilla at the Camp Nou, after landing awkwardly on his arm.

Barcelona’s all-time record goalscorer Lionel Messi will miss next weekend’s Clasico against Real Madrid after suffering a broken arm, as well as the Champions League encounter against Inter Milan.

Messi fell awkwardly on his right arm in the 17th minute of the Liga clash with Sevilla at the Camp Nou on Saturday and was immediately in visible pain.

The Argentine was left writhing in agony after landing heavily on his right arm after colliding with Franco Vazquez. Just moments earlier the Barcelona captain had scored a sublime goal to put Barcelona 2-0 up.

Barcelona confirmed after the game that the 31-year-old suffered a “fracture of the radial bone in his right arm” and is set to miss the Champions League tie against Inter Milan in midweek and the clash with Real Madrid next Sunday.

Barcelona will make do with Dembele, Suarez and Coutinho ahead of their next two interesting encounters.
