A 10-year-old boy on Monday told a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan that his mother asked him to put poison in his father’s food.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adenike Ayodele, the mother of the boy, had petitioned the court to dissolve her 15-year-old marriage to her estranged husband, Adeshina, on grounds of irresponsibility and battery.

In his testimony, the boy told the court that his mother gave him a nylon which contained some powdery substance which she instructed him to pour in his father’s food as well as his bathing water.

The Benue Police Command on Friday arraigned one Abunde Goja, 32, for allegedly killing his ex-wife’s lover.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Veronica Shaagee, said that the accused attacked and killed Mr Terdoo Shitov in the ex-wife’s father’s house at Judges Quarters, Makurdi, NAN reports.

Three SS-1 students remanded for gang-defiling classmate

Three Senior Secondary School 1 (SS1) students (names withheld), who allegedly gang-defiled their 15-year old classmate, were on Wednesday remanded in a juvenile home.

The teenagers aged: 16, 16 and 14-years were docked at a Tinubu Chief Magistrates Court which also doubles as a Family Court.

They are facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful carnal knowledge, sexual assault and defilement.

The chief magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, ordered that the boys be remanded at Borstal Training Institution in Adigbe, Abeokuta, pending the receipt of legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPPs).

The prosecutor, Sgt. Hafsat Ajibode, told the court that the boys committed the offences in July 2018 at Makoko area of Lagos State.

She said that the offences contravened Sections 260 (1) (2) (4), 261, 263 (1) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The case was adjourned until Jan.16 for mention.

The cleric who was paraded on Saturday said his enemies made him commit the crime as he had been battling with spiritual forces.

DAILY POST recalls that a statement by the state Command Spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti said the cleric was arrested after he was recorded having anal sex with a 5-year-old girl that was attending his Arabic classes on Awoyemi Street, Igando Road.
