Business › Re: NRS E-invoicing Nigeria 2026: What It Means, Who Must Comply, And Deadlines by Shuttlewright: 11:31am On Oct 27
Useful summary. One timing note for teams planning around this: medium taxpayers (NGN 1bn-5bn turnover) went live July 1, 2026, and the NRS phased schedule puts them in the post-go-live review window right now (October-November 2026), with compliance enforcement starting January-March 2027. So this quarter is the cheap time to find gaps - IRN generation through your access point provider, validation callback handling in the ERP/POS, and keeping records of rejected invoices.

The buyer side matters too: if a supplier's invoice isn't validated, the input VAT claim is at risk, so vendor compliance becomes part of your own exposure.

We published a free readiness checklist for the medium-business phase (onboarding steps, IRN flow, provider vetting questions): https://shuttlewright-ng-einvoice.pillar-3a8.workers.dev/ - general information, not tax advice.
