there's this other thing i want to know.... shygal, are you saying the thing should get lost for the 3weeks of camp kpatakpata if that's the case you may want to use a full course of birth control pills oh! do not even think of using morning-after pills... it's like a concentration of a 28-pill birth control pack ALL-IN-ONE!!! side effects may not be pretty, depending on how tolerant you are sha...
i cannot tell you that the menses will cease for more than a week or two, but i can tell you that it will significantly delay and decrease the flow of menses. the menses will still come with time because the buildup of the hormones responsible for causing menses will overcome the effect of the ibuprofen [and even other drugs for that matter], which will ultimately cause contraction of the uterus [womb] and resume menstruation.

Loskee: hi shygal... there are certain drugs under the class of NSAIDs [nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs] that are known to delay the onset of menstruation or even decrease the flow, especially if taken starting a day before the flow begins. infact, if you start taking it the moment you feel the slightest discomfort [before it becomes full-blown menstrual pain], it will cause menses to cease. i have tried it, and it worked for me! the one i used in particular is IBUPROFEN, 400mg 3-4 times daily, WITH FOOD!!! don't ever take it without food oh, because it can cause ulcers if you try it on an empty stomach!!!
interestingly, it was a CHANCE DISCOVERY FOR ME! i then researched and found out that it had that effect on menstruation so... there you have it!

Shygal, u're gona be ok, no need to panick, take ur usual pain reliever, u can try travelin a day b4 the d-day, trust me, there are other ladies at camp that will understand exactly how u feel, even Nysc oficials. Trust me, nature has a way of sorting itself out.
