@ every one.

First I would like to thank you all for putting your thoughts on the table. But I have following points to put accross to every one.

1. I am a well travelled engineer. My job with Telco in Nigeria is a year's contract.
2. Luckily am well educated with Bachelors in Mathematics Hons, Masters in Telecom and Masters in IT.
3. I do have some good certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE# R&S written would be taking my lab around year end.
4. Guys !!!! just relax its a gobal village my present organisation operates out of 123 countries, I have friends and office colleagues working out of all 7 continents. Its just am bit bored in my present job that I wanted to look out for an international opening for 6 months or more.
5. If I speak my heart I do think I do belong to world community. My 4 years stint in my earlier organisation gave me an opportunity and platform to look from a global perspective. I work accross people of all nationalities with great ease.
6. I know US$ 24K isnt a decent money but at 29 and being single am ok with it. I did get some good opportunity to make US$ 60,000 and above - H1 B visa - but at present, money ist not every thing to me. Am looking for some quality stuff to work on and after some reasearch I could find one.
7. How come you all ever thought there arent much opening and welcoming for Nigerians and nationals of other origin ? I do see lots of them studying in Indian Universities at Mumbai and New Delhi and other parts. I also do have couple of Nigerian working in my last organisation at Gurgaon New Delhi.
8. Its not just why a Nigerian or some other national could not be in that position Am not saying there isnt talent in your part of the world there definately is but the way Nigerian companies are falling short of right kind of supply is really pathetic. Its just a matter of time.
9. Am not sure what stage of economic development Nigeria is at present. But all great nations of late are much dependend on the each other at country to country and citizen to citizen level. I do see great number of expats in Middle East, UK west Europe NASA, ISRO, US and SE Asia. Its just a need to keep sustaining in this high pressure and competitive world. With closed doors nations just cannot grow.
10. Last not least, no ill will but I would request instead of blaming each other and government much depends on an individual. To all fellow friends and forum members. There is only one mantra. Just keep working hard to achieve a right skill set. It could be a long run but yes success would be yours.

Take Care, Once again really appreciate for your contributions.

Dear Forum members,

I am Sid from India and working as Sr Engineer in an IT company. Of late a Nigerian Telecom company has given me an offer to join them as a Consultant Engineer. The company has offered me US $ 24,000 Per Annum cash component. Incentives: Food, Accomodation, Mobility, Transport, Insurance and Medical is all company paid.

In India, I earn US $ 14,000 Per annum and perks are separate. Is the offer decent enough for one man to live and save in Nigeria ?

Please reply

Regards

Sid
