If you you were capable of stopping for serious thought for a moment. We are talking of impoverished third world countries here. One of the biggest factors that has impoverished them is corruption, which you consistently ignore. The question is, in seeking the panacea to their poverty, have you seen even just one case where the implementation of these Bretton Woods prescriptions have worked? There isnt so much as one instance in history, rather, in every single instance the truth is that these prescriptions have led to disaster writ large.

This is the historical fact and if it is not sufficient to help you ponder deeper, then nothing will.

🤣 I have just realised that some people think that the corrections aka hardship will be a shock to me (look at Deepsight's post).

It seems like they don't know that I predicted this around 2020 (remember my diagram) and stated why we must go through it. Nobody that readsmy diary and posts will think that this is a surprise to me.

I predicted it, I wrote why we must go through it, I wrote why we must see it to the end and not abandon it halfway and I wrote about the other times that we did corrections and abandoned them half way (Shagari and austerity, Babangida and SAP, Obasanjo's reforms, GEJ's attempt at reforms, etc).

Hi Naptu2. Can you be gracious enought to point me to one single third world country where the Bretton Woods prescriptions (removal of subsidies and devaluation of currency) have worked? Indeed is there any single instance where those prescription s have failed to wreck the economies they have been applied to?

I dont require more than one instance. Just one example of where these prescriptions ever succeeded. Just one.

Gbam thank you very much, this is the simple truth which every sane person knows. However that deluded poster will NEVER address the issue of corruption. He will ETERNALLY render fake calculations to prove that the only problem was subsidy. Subsidy in itself was never a problem, only corruption balloned it absurdly and made it a problem, and the removal of subsidies and devaluation of currencies is an age old IMF/ World Bank prescription which has never worked anywhere and has only ever destroyed every economy it has been implemented in.

This is a historical fact.

How did you arrive at trillions for border security if I may ask?

How is smuggling the main issue of subsidy cost? How many litres of petrol do you think it's realistically smuggled per day in Nigeria? Anyone with half brain knows smuggled fuel is insignificant when compared to our total consumption.

How will removal of subsidy discourage smuggling if we have local refining?

Once the landing cost and administrative charges are removed by local refining, fuel still will be cheaper in Nigeria than in most other west African countries even if subsidy is removed.

Dangote diesel which is sold at around N900 per litre factory price is cheaper than price of diesel in all our neighbouring countries.

I just wish to call your attention to the lie that subsidy removal will curb smuggling.
