Politics › Re: NLC To IMF: You‘re Behind Nigeria’s Economic Woes by SilasGreenback: 8:02pm On Oct 27, 2024 |
nairalanda1:

Above is what Agbado members like the ones above think about the solution to our economic problems.
They are all good APC members in standing, and support the government.
Meanwhile people like me, believe that we must increase tax to gdp, remove subsides, and embark towards industrialization, so that our economy can grow and become like the USA and Japan and Germany, an exporter of manufactured goods and services. Also we have to do the hard work of holding our government to account, whoever is in power, and aggresively fight corruption and evil. We must cut government waste spending, and follow true capitalism so that enough revenue can flow in which can be taxed and used for welfare to help the poor. Pretending oil is enough is not the answer.
But the agbado people I have quoted above do not agree with me, and would rather follow the ways of their master Tinubu, and APCPDP.
Anyway, you are free to believe what you will of me, this is for me not a popularity contest. If you no like my ideas, na so e go be. One simple question. How can you industralize by reducing the purchasing power of the people. How will industries thrive in that circumstance? Needless to say, we both know you will NEVER address this question. You will respond with a litany of stupid jokes. |
Politics › Re: Shettima’s Life Is At Risk - Borno Speaker Says As He Demands New Plane For VP by SilasGreenback: 7:15pm On Oct 27, 2024 |
Reptyle: There's nothing mechanically wrong with The VP's jet. It most likely suffered a bird strike. The damage can be isolated and fixed so the aircraft can return to service. He does not need a new aircraft. Besides, there are other aircrafts in the presidential fleet that the VP can use. He can even share the President's plane. There is no need to invest any more money in planes at this time. Will you shattaaappp!!!! How dare you? A whole VP should share jets? Someone whose luxury house in Aso Rock was not good enough, we needed to spend 20 billion to build a proper bespoke one for him - is that who you are saying should share a jet? Dont you realize that we have enslaved the population fully and are now masters and lords while they are serfs? Nigeria's money belongs to the ruling class, and we are going to buy a luxury jet for the Khalifa, whether you like it or not! If you like, protest one million times, as you observed with your last protest, it means nothing to us, in fact we will punish you by increasing the prices of petrol again if you dare protest, just as we did last time and you had to take it. Kneel down before our majesty, conquered Nigerian slave! |

Morizo: We knew this shenanigan by Shettima was to ask for his own jet. The VP came back from US to Nigeria instead of taking a chartered flight or enter as a passenger to Samoa for the meeting. Same plane was able to return to Nigeria and a minister now went for the meeting in Samoa straight from Nigeria....
What sort of waste of resources is this?
I know they will buy a new plane for him One million protests cannot stop it. Welcome to the new Nigeria, where the people are officially enslaved. |

Kukutente23: Don't you know that when a plane is ageing, it does not see road well to see foreign object and avoid em
The VP is a critical national asset. Nigeria may be poor but were too big for our VP to be going about in a rickety jet
We can't have 129m poor citizens and still have a poor VP
Nairalanda1 what do you think 🤔 Abi ooooooh. Lets buy it for him and continue to make sacrifices. We need to man up and stop crying about inflation, as unfortunately, things cost money, and we should stop wanting everything cheap. |
Career › Re: If Your Salary Is Between 300k & 500k Now In Nigeria, You Are Poor. by SilasGreenback: 7:06pm On Oct 27, 2024 |
wirinet: It's not misleading. That's the reality of the Nigerian economy today. A family earning less than N500k (which is less than $300) per month is considered poor by today's economic matrix. Except you have no children or other defendants, live in a single bedroom apartment in a poor neighbourhood, eat very poor quality food, no vehicle or generator, etc., you quality of life would be quite low. When you consider the average cost of feeding an average family of 5, paying house rent for 2 bedroom flat in a fairly good neighbourhood, paying school fees for 2 or 3 children quarterly, paying for band A electricity or running a generator a few hours a day, maintaining just one vehicle, transporting to and fro from work or business, you will realise that 500k per month would not just be ebough. Such a person is desperately and clinically poverty stricken. |
Nairaland General › Re: Two Things That Make Me Sad About Life by SilasGreenback: 6:03pm On Oct 27, 2024 |
KnowledgePower7: As someone who have had near death experience and survived a very ghastly accident (3 died only me survived)
To tell you the honest TRUTH
I don't fear death anymore!!! Having had a taste of near death all I can say is dying actually feels like SLEEP.
You know when you are so sleepy that you don't even know when you close ur eyes. That's has it felt. Very peaceful like sleep
Then I felt a force drawing me out of my body through the center untop of my head. The movement was rhymtmic like a pulse
Immediately I left my body and was staring at it. Tried to touch it but if I approach it the body will look like it's near me but for some reason I still couldn't touch it.
Then I felt so free, energetic, and extreme bliss and was wondering WHAT THE HELL IM I DOING ON EARTH THIS PLACE IS SO MUCH FUN THAN EARTH
Then I looked at my lifeless body and was like I don't want to go back to earth. This place over make sense. I don't know if it was heaven or where I was I just know that the place was 20 times better than earth. One thing I didn't like was I was not in control of certain things I experienced there. Just like a dream, you have 50,% control of tge dream but you don't know what is going to happen next.
A force from nowhere just mercilessly drag me as if I be ant. Next thing I dey spin in what I could only describe as inside a metro tunnel. Like a tunnel dark Then the strange part I heard my mother shout my native name. She usually shout that name if she is angry with me. I was spinning and spinning next thing I wake up in real life very violently like say I get seizure.
The kind deep forceful breath that came out from my lungs as I wake up. Very painful
Thank God I survived Turns out my mumsi was praying that day when the fatal accident happened. According to my sis, they were praying normal night prayer then all of sudden mumsi started praying violently shouting my name My sis said they were looking at her as if she don kolo. The way she was shouting my nane Which explains why the voice shoutinf my name as I was spinning in what I can only describe as a dark hollow metro tunnel. It still gives me chills everytime I think of it
But having experienced what I experienced With full chest I can look death in the eye
I have zero fear of death!!
Which kind of affected me psychologically As I didn't care about anything in life
I started living life recklessly as I didn't care That is the only negative thing which I'm battling from that near death experience.
Took me 1 solid year before I could re orient myself back into society. I lost friends I became extremely introvert. Was having PTSD nightmares for months back to back.
If no be say my people hold small rabba They took me to psychiatric home That was my saving grace..
Still suffering from it but I'm constantly trying my best to re direct my life.
Whatever that place was, heaven or afterlife All I know is I want to go back there
and I pray to God that when my Final time comes l pass so peacefully and this time spend enternity in that beautiful realm. Wow. Just Wow. |

In all sincereity. As someone who had previously stressed a sitting president (OBJ) from his position as vice-president, there is no way in the world an Atiku would not be worried of having a tempestuous Wike as his deputy.
In fact, any normal person will be worried of having someone like that as deputy. |

lecowas: It has significantly reduced the treat of annihilation against them from all fronts. Iran intends to surround Isreal by proxies and attack from all sides one day. The military stronghold been built for the past 2 decades has been significantly weakened.
For the genocide issue, you can't open your eye while someone threatens to kill you. They not only threatened, they put it into action and anyone would react in equal or greater proportion. No race, ethnicity or tribe should be threatened with annihilation in the 21st century but a major religion preaches it. Sad! Neither should any country occupy another or practice apartheid in the 21st century. Stop talking as if Israel is an innocent victim. It is not. |

I wish we had someone like Obama in Nigeria
Very patriotic, electrifying and charismatic leader, the best orator, I can spend hours listening to him What were his achievements? Aside from the novel fact of being mixed race, he was an unremarkable president. Highest, you will mention Obama Care. Daz all. |

Despite a stream of promises to complete the rehabilitation of the state-owned refineries, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited is battling to conclude the turnaround maintenance at the Port Harcourt refinery, insiders have told TheCable. The Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) operates two refineries; the old plant with a capacity of 60,000 barrels per stream day (bpsd) and a new facility with an installed capacity of 150,000 bpsd — bringing the refinery’s combined crude processing capacity to 210,000 bpsd. Since the federal executive council (FEC) approved $1.5 billion for its rehabilitation in 2021, the refinery has remained moribund despite NNPC’s repeated assurances that it would become functional.https://www.thecable.ng/sources-nnpc-weighing-options-on-ph-refinery-as-turnaround-maintenance-falters/People who don't realize that corruption, not subsidy, is the problem we have and have had over the years, are on a looooooong thing. |

ShescreamEWOOO: the only language i rate equal with yoruba in africa is swahili and igede of benue state.
The yoruba language is so beautiful, you ever wonder why before you make headway in the music industry you must use yoruba language?
Sunny okosun from my state said was making music for long without breakthrough until his kids advise him to sing in yoruba, he did and voila baba blew.
Angeligue kidgo had to sing in yoruba before she could win a grammy.
Have you heard yoruba love song, gospel songs, for real how do they make you feel?
Have you been called those sweet yoruba names? Man, the yoruba Language is one of the most beautiful things about Nigeria. I agree, Yoruba songs do have a special ring. But overall, that may be a factor of music and not of the language particularly. The languange is not sonorous, it does not slow in a delicate lyrical way the way some languages do, such as French, Fante, Hausa, and even the Swahili you mentioned. |
