Thats even the issue...i dont even want Graven to sit but move forward with his deft touches and movements so that he can effectively be the second midfielder supporting the attack....all that we need is a natural DM whose job is to sit infront of the defenders and shield them from any attack!
Fabinho used to do that job perfectly before he slumped due to age!

He is good defensively , he'd be perfect for sitting and playing proper DM but is he press resistant, can he move the ball swiftly to attack are all consideration that needs to be taken ..

On the contrary,he is actually playing at a level where he became noticed by bayern during his time at Ajax!
He was never a DM but rather a CM and most times AMF!
The reason why he was always on the bench was because the then bayern manager didnt want him or there were other midfielders that were better than him!
This isn't a matter of playing out of position,its about dominating the midfield with a position you are too familiar with!
In caicedo's worst day,no one can get pass him without getting a booking for that!
All through Fabinho's career at LFC,no attacking midfielder easily got pass him except for his last season which was basically seen as a reset of some sort!
The lack of a known DM has even affected the performance of maccalister!
Our defence have been way too exposed this season and a recognized DM is a solution!
Now that Gravenbach has discovered his mojo,he can now be drafted into a position where he shines better...not in DM!



The coach gave him such licence as a DM and not Maccalister or domink or wirtz?
No DM can be given such instruction by a manager oh
Maybe thats why the defence have recently been exposed many times due to Gravenbach going to forward!
Slot may also want him to go forward because he has obviously discovered that he plays better going forward as a midfielder rather than sitting back to eliminate threats from opposition!

Salah is gone!

He is currently deteriorating and it will get worse by the time the season is over!
Salah should instead be managed which is to come in as an impact player from the bench!

As much as I agree with you .. Last season in which gravenberch was allowed to stroll forward, did you notice he was very efficient as the d DM?? .. you could see he was cutting Plays .. tackling and doing everything a DM got to do and the better part of it was he glides past you like a ghost ..

You're right about needing DM in which I think vwas the reason we went for Endo , I guess.
I strongly still think the backline has been exposed due to him strolling forward.. if he sits , everything will probably be back to what it's suppose to be ...

I also think right now everything is dependent on wirtz , if the guy gets rolling , getting creative like he's suppose to be , slot would have gravenberch sit and help out the backline ..

As much as we'll don't want to admit it....it's obvious we missed TAA esp in the creative area and the fact that the much touted Bradley and newly acquired frimpong haven't done any better in terms of the defensive area that we had constantly criticized TAA for over the years is worrisome!
Secondly,I believe Salah has seen his best years and it's important to start managing him in terms of game time like Robertson until his contract runs out or an Arab club shows up again to acquire him!
I have said it before and I will say it again,Gravenbach is not a DM and those gaps have exposed our defence to several attacks!

Even DM's have their off days .. caicedo , Rodrigo are case studies..

Gravenberch is not a DM but this has been his most prolific play under any position and if place anywhere else might elater his game and have him regress to his Bayern days where he also wasn't used as a DM . Also him being very press resistant makes him even better suit for that position .. So all those space looseness can be worked on between him and the coach .. besides I heard it was the coach that gave him that license to always move forward, so coach knows what to do have him not leave that much of a gap like that ..

As for Salah , it's even crazier we don't have rw winger he can be replaced with .. Although I feel like we should play him in that 10 position since man cannot do both to get past his man , make him just dey supply the frontman ..

I guess this is why Liverpool was reluctant to give him the amount he wanted .. They knew something like this would happen but he still deserves it anyways..
