Children and teachers have just been rescued after 56 days in captivity, and instead of expressing relief, obidients are already flapping around like rain-beaten chickens, looking for how to drag “repentant terrorists” into the matter.

Why is it so hard for these sadistic and hateful obidients to say: thank God the pupils are alive?

On the “repentant terrorists joining the military” claim, that story has been repeatedly denied and fact-checked.

The Presidency said in 2020 that not one graduate of Operation Safe Corridor had been absorbed into the military. AFP also fact-checked a viral video claiming repentant Boko Haram fighters were recruited into the army and found it false; the video actually showed Civilian Joint Task Force members joining the army, not rehabilitated terrorists.

Operation Safe Corridor itself was established in 2016 under the previous administration to receive voluntary defectors from Boko Haram factions. It has always been controversial because many Nigerians fear reintegration without adequate justice for victims. That concern is legitimate. But there is a difference between legitimate concern and weaponised obidient deflection.

In this Oyo rescue, the Presidency said eight kidnappers were arrested, others were neutralised, and there was **no quid pro quo**. Channels reported that one terrorist kingpin whose release was demanded by the kidnappers is being prosecuted. In other words, government did not swap schoolchildren for terrorist commanders.

So what exactly are obidients angry about?

The operation was intelligence-led, involving security agencies over weeks, until the captors were tracked, cornered, some arrested, some neutralised, and the victims brought out alive. Reuters and AP both reported the rescue of the abducted Oyo pupils and teachers by Nigerian security forces.

The sad truth is that some opposition voices especially Peter Obi, had already turned the children’s captivity into campaign fuel.

Now that the children are alive, their propaganda engine has lost petrol.

That is why they are deflecting.

Normal people celebrate rescued children.

Only disaster merchants start looking for a new grievance before the parents finish thanking God.

One thing about President Tinubu is that he appears willing to make difficult decisions that many leaders would avoid.

President Tinubu's audacity in matters is something that needs to be studied. The man is fearless when it comes to tough decisions.

But they will still call them repented terrorist and later release them into the military. So any difference?

Good day fellas , let's face it !! there's a pandemic of mature young men in Nigeria now between the ages of 35 - 40 that aren't willing or even trying to get married. Never did I ever anticipate that a time would come when Nigerian men would stay this long without getting married or not even bother about it by a tiny fraction.


What do you think is happening during this era of Nigerian men not wanting to get married ? Is it the Nigerian economy? Is it that they can't find good Nigerian women ? Or Is it lack of financial resources ?.

About my last post, it's turned out weird. I can, I mean he feels the tension too. His response is weird; when we talking he avoids looking at my eyes, though I stare directly while talking, he just fixes his eyes somewhere on my body not my face. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is getting its biggest shake-up since it started 53 years ago. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) just approved a massive overhaul to stop treating the scheme as just a year of paramilitary drills, turning it into a launchpad for actual careers.

According to the government, approved reforms will reposition the NYSC as a skills-driven, productivity-focused, and youth-empowering institution that aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of building a $1 trillion economy.

This reform journey began in 2025 through a broad-based, multi-stakeholder review involving the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the Federal Ministry of Education and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination headed by Hadiza Bala Usman.

If you are a student, recent graduate, or parent, here are five ways the NYSC reforms will affect you.

1. Goodbye khaki, hello civilian leadership

The military is stepping back from running the day-to-day operations of the NYSC. A civilian administrator will now take charge, while the military shifts its focus entirely to keeping corps members safe. To match this professional shift, the iconic khaki uniform is being completely redesigned to look cleaner and more modern.

2. Six-week orientation camp

The traditional three-week camp is doubling to six weeks, and the daily schedule is changing completely:

Weeks 1–2: Civic education and national values.

Weeks 3–4: Financial literacy, career mapping, and business skills.

Weeks 5–6: Specialised tracks in tech, public service, farming or creative industries.

3. Primary assignment that actually matches your skill

No more sending engineering graduates to teach primary school math if they don’t want to. The new policy mandates that primary assignments must match your field of study. If you study software engineering, you will likely head straight into the newly created digital corps.

4. High-tech security placements

To address safety worries, the NYSC is launching a data-driven deployment system. It analyses security risks across the country in real-time, ensuring corps members are not sent into volatile or high-risk areas.

5. No more passing-out parade (POP)

The final march-past in the scorching sun is officially cancelled. Instead, your service year will end with a corporate graduation and career-networking event designed to connect you directly with employers.

When does this start?

The government is rolling these updates out in phases between 2026 and 2028, starting with immediate changes to the legal NYSC Act.
