MTN are crooks! They have masterminded this trickery to steal call credit from unsuspecting users nationwide and this has been happening for years now! MTN is a cunning and crafty company that have acted dubiously on Nigerian soil, stealing from the very same customers that have made them earn so much money from our country, and they deserve to be punished severely and be required by law to make refunds to their customers. I discovered the continuous pattern/trend of deductions over a period and decided to investigate further by buying N800:00k worth of credit on my MTN line and I decided NOT to make a single call from the line, since I have other lines (GLO, AIRTEL, ETISALAT)!

To my surprise, as I checked my credit on a weekly basis, my call credit started going down! I initially thought it was the Caller Tunes/Ring Back Tones that had been IMPOSED on me by MTN that was deducting my money! It was not, and I couldn't figure out what the application was either. And neither was it my internet DATA connection (I willfully use only data connection from GLO), as their customer support team tried to sell this dummy to me severally ! But I realized that different POPUP messages are regularly seen on the screen of my phone, requesting you to either choose to ACCEPT or CANCEL, and these POPUP messages are willfully sent by MTN to their subscribers and compelling you to subscribe for one service or another. If you attempt to pull out your phone from the pocket, in order to view the message that just arrived on the phone, the fingers might mistakenly click on the ACCEPT button on the POPUP message and thereby subscribing you to a service you do not intend to be subscribed for.

This is MTN's trick mechanism that they use to steal money/call credit from our phones nationwide! After I made some noise in their office at Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island a few months back, I was given a call credit N200:00k to test whether the trend continues as they fictitiously claimed they couldn't find any reason for such deductions and neither have they done anything to forestall such problem! It's a lie, they know exactly what they are doing! I left and continue to observe till this day and the issue continues as I write. What I have decided to do is to never recharge my MTN line again, they can block the line if they want. They will be the ones to lose customers on a daily basis.

MTN are a thieving company and they are crooked and crafty. I will be too will to be a witness in the court against these criminal-minded company who take the pleasure of stealing from their loyal customers. I have been a MTN customer for over 15 years and yet they have no regards for their honourable customers!

Yes! Let us take these criminals to court and I have every evidence to prove how they have stolen my unused call credits from me over the years!

NIGERIAN CITIZENS: THE REAL LOSERS FROM THESE UNENDING AND NON-CREDIBLE PROBE PANELS

It's quite noteworthy that Nigerians on this "Nairaland" forum are always too quick in expressing all sorts of concerns on a lot of issues going on within our country!! This current bribery scandal involving top members of the government hierarchy in Nigeria, like many others, looks almost certain to be swept under the rug when the dust settles on this issue.

The real losers in these whole "cat and mouse" haggling, stealing, corruption, embezzlement and wanton destruction of livelihood going on in Nigeria are we the masses/populace!! Words may not be enough for me to describe how docile we are as a people in this country. There's too much talking over every issue that has been going on for too long without any mass movement and emancipation drive to initiate a change in this system!!!! These probes, panels and tribunals all end up in mists and smoke trails without any culprits dealt with for touching what is supposed to be "sacred" money belonging to all Nigerians.

We are indeed DOCILE as a people, whereby we (150 million Nigerians) are all being slapped in the face by these thieving government officials and yet we walk around unconcerned when we should all unite in a common language/voice and hit the streets of Nigeria with massive "stand-still" demonstrations until these bastards run this country the way we want and not the way they want!!! We should have to be talking about how we emancipate this country from this self-imposed financial slavery in our own country than letting these thousandfold probe panels running aground every time.

Our hard-earned monies are stolen from here and taken to the banks in developed nations and what can you expect from these developed nations anyway?? We have to wake up and demand true justice and punishments for these mad stealing running this country aground!!!

YES! I would support death penalty for corrupt and fraudulent persons. Corruption is a colossal monster in Nigeria and if we fail to follow the Chinese model then perpetrators will forever abound!! In the last 50yrs, we have never been able to prosecute offenders and yet our hard-earned monies are being stolen out through conduit pipes to other countries to develop those countries and yet our country, Nigeria, has failed to materialize...

This is the state of hypes in the Nigerian state where the so-called rich "big" men treat serious issues with levy, pride and egocentric attitude. If Jimoh Ibrahim had the money to pay all the while why wait for the bombshell to be released indicting his company? Besides, repayment of the N8billion or N14billion in one swipe is suspicious move and the CBN should duely follow this one-time repayment process of such huge funds from such insensitive men. Withdrawing such colossal amount from another bank is like "robbing Peter to pay Paul" and we are back to square one, cyclic redundancy in the system. No net change in the overall big picture outlook of our financial. Let him go and source for funds from the foreign lands where they pumped all these into and use same to rebuild our financial sector.
