‎Supporting Women And Promoting Greater Understanding Within Families And Society.
‎
‎It was a moment of excitement and celebration yesterday as the Chairman of Seahorse Lubricant, Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, donated the sum of fourteen million eight hundred thousand naira (₦14,800,000) to support women.
‎
‎The donation was announced during the Anambra State Women Summit held at the regional headquarters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). The summit, themed “Empower Her, Elevate All,” brought together women from across the state to discuss empowerment, inclusion, and development.
‎
‎Speaking at the event, Dr. Onunkwo emphasized the need for men to stop blaming women for their misfortunes when they encounter failure. He advised men to properly prepare themselves financially before entering into marriage, noting that lack of preparation often leads to unnecessary blame being placed on wives during difficult times.
‎
‎He also educated the audience on the biological factors that determine the sex of a child. According to him, a woman carries only the X chromosome, while a man carries both X and Y chromosomes. He explained that when a man contributes the Y chromosome, the child will be male, but when the X chromosome is contributed, the child will be female.
‎
‎Therefore, he stressed that women should not be blamed for the gender of a child since the determining factor comes from the man.
‎
‎The summit highlighted the importance of supporting women and promoting greater understanding within families and society.

THE BELOVED OF ANAMBRA SOUTH: CHIEF DR. EBUKA ONUNKWO – OUR SENATORIAL DESTINY

The tragic passing of Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah created a void in the representation of Anambra South in the Nigerian Senate, necessitating an interim arrangement to bridge the gap.

With that transitional period almost behind us, the moment has arrived to install a truly fitting successor; one who embodies the intellectual depth, resilience, charisma, and dignified presence that Anambra South deserves and demands.

Across Nigeria and the diaspora, indigenes of Anambra South continue to distinguish themselves as beacons of excellence in diverse fields.

They are not ordinary achievers; they carry a unique DNA of innovation, tenacity, and unwavering pursuit of greatness; particularly in entrepreneurship, industry, and enterprise.

From the bustling markets of the North to the thriving commercial hubs of the Southwest, Anambra South people have built empires, industries, and legacies that drive economic progress and inspire generations.

These accomplishments, however, come with distinct challenges: navigating policy environments, securing fair representation, addressing infrastructural deficits, and ensuring no community or individual is marginalized in the march toward prosperity.

The zone requires a senator who is not merely a voice in the Red Chamber but a seasoned advocate capable of bridging gaps, influencing legislation, and delivering tangible benefits to the people.

This is precisely where Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo stands out as the ideal candidate. A self-made industrialist, philanthropist, and visionary leader, he is the embodiment of Anambra South's entrepreneurial spirit.

As the founder and CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Industries Limited, he has built a world-class manufacturing enterprise that produces high-quality lubricants, creating thousands of jobs and contributing significantly to Nigeria's industrial landscape; all from his roots in Ihembosi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area.

He is affectionately regarded as the "beloved of Anambra South," commanding unparalleled affection, respect, and grassroots support across the seven local government areas. No other aspirant evokes the same level of genuine endearment or trust.

The interregnum has passed. The winds of clarity have blown, revealing the unmistakable truth: Anambra South knows who truly cherishes its aspirations and who is ready to champion them at the highest level.

This is more than an election; it is an Anambra South project. It is a collective call to elevate one of our own, a proven achiever who has transformed personal adversity into communal prosperity.

Let us unite to make Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, the next Senator representing Anambra South: a leader who will ensure our excellence is matched by equally excellent representation in the Senate. The time is now. The choice is clear. The future is bright.

Politics › Onunkwo Inspires Nnewi Youths With Testimony And ₦20m Donation by Simplerose(op): 11:49am On Feb 15
BISHOP OKOYE PRAISES ONUNKWO'S LIFE AS 'HOMILY ENOUGH FOR YOUTH

... as philanthropist donates ₦20 million at Nnewi catholic youth day

The Catholic Diocese of Nnewi's youth event, christened _"a day with the Bishop 2026,"_ held Saturday 14 February 2026 at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Nnewi. The youth event became another memorable occasion of inspiration and generosity as, true to his philanthropic legacy, Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, who chaired the event, donated ₦20 million to fund the purchase of a requested brand new Sienna bus for the youth group and to cover transport fares for all participants, making the celebration, which drew over 1,000 young catholics for spiritual enrichment and celebration, more inclusive and impactful.

In his address, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Industries Ltd., shared his inspiring grass-to-grace story. He recounted growing up in poverty, cutting palm fruits and working as a laborer for masons to fund his secondary education. "I applied myself in learning so much so that I was representing my school in several quiz and debate competitions," Onunkwo told the youths. "Even though my parents could not fund my tertiary education, I translated my perseverance to business, and I thank God for where I am today." He urged the young audience to reject idolatry, fetishism, and shortcuts in pursuit of wealth, stressing that genuine success comes only from perseverance, sincerity, humility, and faith. "Shortcuts involving spiritual compromise lead nowhere," he warned, encouraging them to guard their hearts and stay rooted in hard work and moral integrity.

Most Rev. Dr. Jonas-Benson Okoye, Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, responded with a note of commendation, describing Onunkwo’s life as a living "homily", a powerful sermon in action, that young catholics need. He highlighted how Onunkwo rose from poverty to become a major employer while remaining untainted by pagan practices, offering a vital lesson in resilience and moral uprightness. "Your life story is homily enough," the Bishop declared, noting that Onunkwo’s faith-driven, bootstrap success serves as a real-world model to guide youths in their faith journey.

Politics › Building Industry, Securing Futures, And Fighting Unemployment In Anambra South by Simplerose(op): 3:02pm On Feb 05
Nigeria faces a serious youth unemployment problem.

Every year, thousands of graduates leave universities, polytechnics, and colleges, but the job market cannot take them all in.

Many young people finish their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) only to face a tough reality with few opportunities.

Big cities like Lagos and Abuja are overcrowded and can no longer provide enough jobs for everyone. Long lines at basic job interviews show that the system is not creating enough work for the teeming young graduates.

In Anambra South, one man is showing a different way forward. Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo, the founder and CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Industries Limited, moved his business operations back to his home area after building success abroad.

He started in the spare parts trade and later built a lubricant business in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

But he chose to bring his Blending Plant (Company) home to Anambra State, setting up a major production plant in the region located on the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway, Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo LGA.

This "Aku Luo Uno" approach is a powerful example of community-focused industrialisation.

By basing his factory locally, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo helps stop the flow of people leaving rural areas for big cities.

He offers good professional jobs right at home; roles for accountants, engineers, managers, and skilled workers.

The implication of his intentional action is that trained people no longer have to migrate to urban centres for work.

When employees earn salaries locally, they spend money in nearby shops, markets, and services, creating a positive ripple effect that boosts the whole community's economy.

What stands out most in Onunkwo's model is his focus on people over strict cost-cutting.

While many factories aim to keep staff numbers low and use machines to maximise profits, Seahorse employs far more workers than strictly needed for production.

For tasks that could be done by a smaller team, the company hires nearly double the number.

This intentional choice creates more jobs and provides long-term security.

Workers stay for many years; some 13 or more, because they feel valued and safe in a tough economy.

The factory brings together different kinds of talent.

It includes corporate professionals like chartered accountants and managers, technical experts like engineers who maintain quality standards for lubricant production, and skilled artisans who handle plastic work, assembly, and other hands-on tasks.

This mix creates a small but healthy local economy inside one company.

The happiness and energy seen among the staff come from real job security.

In a country where unemployment causes so much stress, Onunkwo treats his factory as more than just a place to make products; it is a safe space for families and futures.

His approach shows how business leaders can fight the national job crisis one area at a time by putting people first.

His proven success in creating jobs, supporting his community, and building industry at home makes him a strong leader who understands the real needs of the people.

By turning his business vision into real change for Anambra South, he offers a practical path to stability, growth, and hope for the region.

Politics › In A World Drowning In Certificates, Society Is Still Hungry For Solutions. by Simplerose(op): 12:28pm On Jan 31
BEYOND THE PAPER: WHY IMPACT DEFINES HUMAN VALUE.

Kamen Chuks Ogbonna

In the traditional Nigerian society, a university degree has long been treated as the ultimate gatekeeper to credibility.

It was the certificate of competence that signalled to the world that an individual was prepared to contribute.

However, as the 21st-century landscape shifts, a profound realization is taking hold.

The current reality is that humanity is not advanced by those who simply hold credentials, but by those who wield knowledge—however acquired—to solve problems and uplift others.

The true measure of a person’s worth to society is not the "learnedness" they can prove on paper, but the "learnedness" they demonstrate through their impact.

A degree is a record of past compliance and exposure to a curriculum; it is not, however, a guarantee of wisdom or a commitment to service.

While formal education provides a structured foundation, it can sometimes foster a completionist mindset where the goal is to obtain the status of being educated rather than the utility of the education itself.

When we prioritize the certificate over the contribution, we create a society of credentialed observers.

Credentialed observers are people who understand the theory of the world but lack the drive or the practical agility to change it or make impact.

In contrast, the self-taught individual or the non-degree holder who pursues knowledge out of a raw necessity to solve a problem often develops a deeper, more resilient form of mastery.

History is replete with individuals who lacked formal credentials but fundamentally altered the course of human progress. From Michael Faraday, who had little formal schooling but became one of history's most influential scientists, to modern tech pioneers and grassroots community leaders, the common thread is applied knowledge.

Their value to society lies in this cognitive flexibility and their focus on outcomes rather than accolades.

Society does not suffer from a lack of certificates rather it suffers from a lack of solutions.

A person who improves a crop yield, develops a community program, or mentors others creates a "value-add" that is immediate and measurable.

When a self-made individual succeeds, they dismantle the elitist barrier to entry.

They prove that the tools of progress (curiosity, discipline, and empathy) are available to anyone.

This inspires a more meritocratic and productive society.

In a rapidly changing world, the ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn is more valuable than a static degree earned a decade ago.

The impact-focused individual is a lifelong learner by default, as their work demands constant adaptation.

As the senator representing Anambra South senatorial district, the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (a self-learned man) made a huge impact by making representation simple, people-friendly and accessible to all, irrespective of social standing.

In this our senatorial zone, the question is no longer "Where did you go to school?" but "What have you done for others?" and "What problems have you solved?"

While a certificate is a silent document, an impact is a living legacy.

While education is vital, we must never confuse the map (the degree) with the journey (the contribution).

The most valuable members of society are those who view their knowledge not as a trophy to be hung on a wall, but as a tool to be used in the service of humanity.

In the final accounting of a life well-lived, society remembers the lives we touched and the systems we improved.

With Ebuka Onunkwo at the red chambers, our zone will no longer be silent with the industrialist's baritone voice demanding our fair share of the common patrimony and commanding respect from the senate leadership.

Armed with a secondary level certificate earned in flying colours, certificate courses abroad and a diploma in French language from a prestigious Citadel of Learning. One is not surprised that this goal-getter transitioned from a palm tree climber to the Chief Executive Officer of a blue-chip company that today offers employment and succour to thousands of our people, including chartered accountants, engineers,PhD holders and artisans alike.

EBUKA ONUNKWO: A TESTAMENT TO ANAMBRA'S INDOMITABLE SPIRIT

The story of Ebuka Onunkwo is not just a personal biography; it is a case study in the "Anambra Spirit" a cultural phenomenon characterized by an indomitable will to succeed, a deep-seated belief in self-reliance, and the ability to turn scarcity into abundance.

For Odoziobodo, his early years, like many successful Ndi Anambra, faced challenges that necessitated maturity beyond his years.

This early exposure to the stakes of survival is what often separates the visionary from the dreamer

Chief Onunkwo’s rise reflects a calculated progression from early years bedevilled by want to the leadership of a major conglomerate.

Ebuka Onunkwo embodies the core tenets of the Anambra success model

His focus has consistently been on creating value, whether through manufacturing, distribution, or importation

A recurring theme in his life is the importance of bringing wealth back home. The concept of Aku luo uno!

His success is tied to the development of his community, ensuring that his personal growth lifts others.

Today, as he stands at the helm of a business empire, the story of his "growing up years" serves as a beacon for the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs.

He proves that while capital is important, character specifically the brand of resilience found in the heart of Igboland is the ultimate currency.

His life reminds us that the greatest resource of a people is not found in lamentations and despair, but in the spirit of a child who refuses to believe that their background defines their finish line.

‎
‎Following the end-of-year party of Seahorse Lubricant Industries Ltd held on 24th December 2025, some people may be tempted to view his generosity through a political lens. However, a closer look at the antecedents of Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo clearly shows that this is simply his way of life. He is a man who finds joy in helping the poor, lifting the needy, and alleviating hardship wherever he can.

Politics › Grassroots Impact-youth Empowerment-leadership With Integrity by Simplerose(op): 2:50pm On Dec 31, 2025
The true essence of governance lies in driving sustainable development, providing critical infrastructure, and ensuring that essential social amenities reach the grassroots. It is about being a genuine voice for the people especially those in rural communities whose concerns are often ignored and whose hopes are frequently left unanswered.

Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo’s impact is most evident at the grassroots level, where his numerous empowerment initiatives have consistently reflected his unwavering commitment to youth development and community upliftment. Through purposeful actions rather than mere words, he has continued to inspire confidence, restore hope, and create meaningful opportunities for many.

Leadership should never be about making empty promises or diverting public resources meant for public good just to enrich oneself or secure the future of a few. True leadership is rooted in service, guided by integrity, and measured by the tangible progress it brings to the lives of the people.

Thank you, Ugwumba Ihembosi, for your remarkable service to humanity.

A Brighter Future For Anambra: UNICEF and Soludo's Collaboration

By: Kamen Chuks Ogbonna.

Yesterday, the Governor received the country representative of UNICEF, Ms. Cristian Munduate and her team during a courtesy visit to Anambra State.

UNICEF collaborates with willing partners, including governments, to ensure that children and youths have access to a brighter future by addressing their health, nutrition, and education needs.

In Anambra State, they found a committed partner in Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, who has instituted free education from nursery to secondary school, free delivery (including caesarean sections), free antenatal care, and free drugs - essentially a comprehensive support package.

Recall that the Governor employed what is today known in the state as "Solution Teachers" to ensure that the quality of education is restored to a high standard.

Today in Anambra, public schools are surpassing private schools, and due to calculated government policies, miracle centres have been abolished in the state.

The abolishment of miracle centres in Anambra State is another significant solution to an emergent menace that had plagued the state in recent times.

Just as Charly Nwa Mgbafor also brought the solution to the Oke Ite/Yahoo Yahoo/kidnapping menace fueled by Ndi Fake Dibia na Eze Nwanyi.

The courtesy visit was a meeting of like-minds and committed partners as both parties seek to deepen their collaboration across every front to ensure that no child in Anambra is left behind.

Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, is a firm believer that the most meaningful investments any society can make are in the areas of health and education.

Even as he continues to make holistic impacts in other sectors like road infrastructure, pipe borne water, decentralisation and creation of market hubs, tourism, opening up of new smart cities, etc.

Under Professor Soludo's visionary guidance, Anambra is gradually moving from a departure lounge to a destination centre of excellence.

Indeed, may Anambra continue to succeed.

A BEACON OF LIGHT IN THE SHADOWS: WHY CHIEF DR. EBUKA ONUNKWO SHINES ABOVE ALL FOR ANAMBRA SOUTH

In the grand tapestry of existence, where threads of ambition, duty, and destiny intertwine, there are rare souls who emerge not merely as participants but as luminaries—guides who illuminate the path for others. Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo is such a soul, a man whose life and vision cast a radiant glow over the crowded field of aspirants vying for the Anambra South Senatorial seat. As the people of this vibrant district stand at a crossroads, seeking a leader to replace the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the question looms: who among the many possesses not just the credentials, but the essence to truly serve? The answer, woven through the philosophy of purpose and the clarity of action, is unmistakable—Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo outshines them all.

The Measure of a Leader: Beyond the Surface

Plato once mused that the true ruler is a philosopher-king, one who governs not for power’s sake but for the good of the polis. In this ancient wisdom lies a timeless truth: leadership is not a crown to be worn, but a burden to be borne with grace. Many aspirants step forward with polished resumes and loud promises, yet their shine often fades under scrutiny, revealing ambition unmoored from substance. Chief Onunkwo, however, embodies a different caliber. He is not a fleeting spark but a steady flame, fueled by a life of tangible service and a vision rooted in the soil of Anambra South.

Consider his journey. As the Chairman and CEO of Sea Horse Lubricant Industries Ltd., he has built an empire not just of commerce but of impact, stretching beyond Nigeria’s borders to Benin Republic and beyond. This is no mere businessman seeking a new stage; this is a man who has already proven his capacity to create, sustain, and uplift. His hands have not only signed contracts but have lifted communities—over 600 students in Ihembosi alone owe their education to his generosity, a testament to his belief that true wealth lies in the empowerment of others. Where other aspirants offer words, Onunkwo offers deeds, a distinction as profound as the difference between shadow and substance.

The Soul of Representation: A Voice for the Voiceless

The Stoic philosopher Seneca taught that life’s worth is measured by its utility to others. In the clamor of politics, where voices often drown out the silent struggles of the masses, Anambra South needs a senator who hears the unspoken—who feels the pulse of the seven local governments and channels it into action. Chief Onunkwo’s life is a symphony of such attunement. His foundation has long been a lifeline for the underserved, tackling the hunger that scars the land and the youth restiveness that threatens its future. He does not wait for a title to serve; he serves because it is his nature.

Contrast this with the field of aspirants. Some bring political pedigrees, others financial muscle, yet few match Onunkwo’s organic connection to the people. He is not a visitor to their struggles but a native son who has walked among them, built bridges across divides, and earned their trust not through rhetoric but through results. His endorsement by Jude Emecheta, a respected APGA stalwart who stepped aside in recognition of Onunkwo’s superior candidacy, speaks volumes. It is a rare moment of clarity in politics—a peer acknowledging that the torch must pass to the one most equipped to carry it.

The Visionary’s Compass: Purpose Over Power

Nietzsche warned of the danger of those who seek power for its own sake, calling them “the last men,” content with comfort over greatness. Anambra South cannot afford such a fate. The district stands at a pivotal moment—needing a senator who can navigate the National Assembly’s corridors not for personal gain, but to secure federal presence, contribute vital legislative bills, and amplify Governor Charles Soludo’s developmental agenda. Chief Onunkwo’s compass points firmly to purpose. He speaks of “populist and purposeful representation,” a pledge to rekindle the district’s voice after months of silence following Senator Ubah’s passing. His is a vision of unity, progress, and resilience—a stark contrast to aspirants whose campaigns lean on party machinery or fleeting popularity.

His philosophical grounding is evident in his words: “The voice of the people is the voice of God.” This is not mere poetry but a creed he lives by, reflected in his grassroots reach and his unwavering loyalty to APGA, a party he has supported since the days of Peter Obi. While others falter under allegations of anti-party antics, Onunkwo stands as a pillar of fidelity, a man who sees the party not as a vehicle for self, but as a vessel for collective good.

The Light That Endures

In the end, the choice before Anambra South is not just about who can win an election, but who can transform a district—who can turn its challenges into opportunities and its aspirations into realities. Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo is not the loudest in the room, nor the most ostentatious, but he is the most luminous. Like a lighthouse amidst a stormy sea, he offers direction where others offer only noise. His life is a testament to the philosophy that true greatness lies in service, that leadership is not about standing above, but standing with.

As the primaries approach and the bye-election looms, let the people of Anambra South look beyond the clamor and see the light that has long shone among them. Chief Dr. HRM, Dr Ebuka Onunkwo is not just an aspirant; he is a calling—a chance to choose not the shadow of a leader, but the substance of one. In him, Anambra South finds not only a senator but a shepherd, a philosopher-king for a new era. The choice is clear: he outshines them all because he was born to serve, not to rule.

THE FAITHFUL SERVANT: CHIEF DR. EBUKA ONUNKWO'S VISION FOR ANAMBRA SOUTH

By O'star Eze.

In the timeless Parable of the Faithful Servant, as told in Matthew 24:45-51 and Luke 12:42-48, we see a servant entrusted by his master to manage his household and care for others in his absence. This servant, diligent and loyal, ensures everything is in order and is richly rewarded when the master returns. Contrast this with the unfaithful servant, who neglects his duties and faces judgment. The story is a powerful lesson in responsibility, preparedness, and loyalty—qualities that resonate deeply in the context of leadership and service here in Anambra State.

For Ndi Anambra, especially those with clear eyes and open minds, Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo stands out as the embodiment of this faithful servant. Among all the aspirants jostling for the Anambra South Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Onunkwo has proven himself the one who best complements Governor Charles Soludo’s transformative vision for our state. His life, his work, and his loyalty speak louder than campaign promises, making him the ideal partner to drive Soludo’s agenda forward.

As the Chairman/CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Industries Ltd., Chief Onunkwo has shown what it means to be a faithful steward. He’s not just a talker—he’s a doer. His business acumen has created jobs and boosted economic growth, proving he knows how to manage resources for the good of all. Across the seven local government areas of Anambra South, his grassroots engagement has touched lives, much like the servant in the parable who ensures the household thrives.

This aligns perfectly with Soludo’s “One Anambra, One People, One Agenda” mantra, which aims to turn our state into a smart, prosperous megacity where no one is left behind.

Governor Soludo, like the master in the parable, has entrusted us with a bold vision—economic transformation, solid infrastructure, and governance that works for the people. Onunkwo doesn’t just echo this vision; he lives it. His loyalty to APGA shows a man who stays true to his calling, even when the political winds blow hard. This steadfastness strengthens our party’s unity, a foundation Soludo needs to succeed both in Awka and on the national stage.

But it’s not just about loyalty—Onunkwo brings results. His philanthropy and ability to rally support are well-known. When Jude Emecheta stepped down and endorsed him, calling him the “most qualified candidate” in APGA, it wasn’t just politics—it was recognition of a man ready to serve. Like the faithful servant found prepared when the master returns, Onunkwo’s track record sets him apart from others who may see the Senate as a title rather than a duty.

To every clear-sighted Onye Anambra, Chief Onunkwo is the real deal. He’s not here with empty theories; he’s got the practical know-how to amplify Soludo’s voice in Abuja. Anambra South faces real challenges—youth restiveness, gully erosion, and the need for federal projects—and Onunkwo has the focus and experience to tackle them head-on. His blend of business savvy, party loyalty, and heart for the people makes him the faithful servant we need in the Senate.

While others may chase the seat for prestige, Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo is running to serve. For Ndi Anambra, who see beyond the noise, he’s the clear choice to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Soludo, pushing our shared vision to new heights. In him, we have a senator who will not just represent us but deliver for us—a faithful servant for Anambra South and a true partner to our governor’s dream of a greater Anambra.

EBUKA ONUNKWO'S SENATE ASPIRATION GATHERS MOMENTUM AS MORE APGA POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHTS RALLY BEHIND HIM

Chief (Dr) Ebuka Onunkwo's senatorial bid, yesterday, received a significant boost as Dr Jude Emecheta, National Coordinator of Anambra Deserves Soludo (ADS) and former Executive Director of the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA), withdrew from the senatorial race and endorsed Onunkwo for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket.

This endorsement is a testament to Chief Onunkwo's growing popularity and acceptance within the APGA and Anambra South. Chief Emecheta's decision to step down and support Onunkwo demonstrates his confidence in Chief Onunkwo's ability to represent the people of Anambra South effectively. ‘I was neither contacted nor pressured by Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo, and no one asked me to step down for him; I am making this decision wholeheartedly to support a better candidate - someone who has long been dedicated to the welfare of the masses. The Chief Dr Ebuka Onunkwo I have known for long has made significant contributions to my Local Government (Ekwusigo), and in Anambra South, even before aspiring for the Senate. I firmly believe that, by God's grace, his victory will bring effective and worthy representation to our people. He is humble, well-organised, and fully prepared for the task ahead’, Dr Jude Emecheta stated as he officially stepped down in support of Ebuka Onunkwo for senate.

Chief Onunkwo's campaign has been gaining massive momentum, with various groups and individuals endorsing him. His message of hope and open-door representation resonates deeply with the people, who are eager for a leader that truly understands their needs.

As the APGA faithful await the date for the primaries of the party, Chief Onunkwo's endorsement by Emecheta and several other vital stakeholders and support groups is expected to further strengthen his position as the frontrunner for the party's ticket. With his impressive track record of philanthropy, community development, and leadership qualities, Onunkwo is poised to make a significant impact in the senatorial election by winning the ‘trophy’, if handed the ticket of the party.

As if in response to the previous day's hatchet job by a faceless writer from an opposition camp masquerading as ‘APGA concerned stakeholders’, who exposed the jitters in their camp by lamenting the flood gate of endorsements that the media team of Chief Onunkwo has showcased in recent times and made failed attempts to twist the narrative, this particular endorsement by Chief Emecheta has sealed the lips of the naysayers and provided the icing on the cake and the pointer that the party is poised to present its strongest candidate for the by-election.

Flanked by the Chairman of its board of trustees and DG of Anambra State Internally Generated Revenue Service (AIRS), Hon. Greg Ezeilo, alongside the Secretary of the ADS, Hon. Afam Victor Enebeli, as well as APGA's State Woman Leader, the National Coordinator of the ADS, stated emphatically that Chief Onunkwo has all it takes to deliver victory for APGA in the senatorial by-election, which will in turn serve as a stepping stone towards a smoother actualization of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo's second term bid.

Chief Ebuka Onunkwo is increasingly emerging as the top contender for the Anambra South senatorial seat, as the people eagerly await the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce the timetable for the by-election. His popularity and acceptance within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Anambra South continue to grow, making him the candidate to beat.

With this development, Ebuka Onunkwo has made history as the first aspirant to have a co-aspirant step down in his favour and endorse him. This further underscores his undeniable capacity to deliver the full dividends of democracy to the people of Anambra South, if elected. Even his fellow aspirants recognise that he is the best fit for the job and have begun rallying behind his emergence.

Ode to an Avatar - Late Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah

First Posthumous Birthday Celebration Of The Celebrity Avatar, Senator Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Ubah, CON

Yes, you are an avatar, for your type comes once in a generation, like a flash, achieving huge accomplishments that defy gravity and soar like a colossus. Born to a poor teacher, you dropped out of school with the resolve to improve your family's fortunes and drag them out of poverty. You made good money at a young age through hard work and smart business, got married at 21 to your soulmate, Uche, and had five children.

You dedicated your life to showing the world the core essence of humanity, demonstrating uncommon love to people, most of whom were strangers. You loved unequivocally and gave without boundaries. You were passionate about economic empowerment and development, demonstrating this through your senate work, business ventures, and developmental projects in your constituency.

You would have been 53 years of age today, it is really remarkable to believe that this action-packed tons of achievements from you, all took place within this life span, yet many across the entire country started hearing the philanthropy associated with the name "Ifeanyi Ubah" over three decades ago.

Nigeria has lost an outstanding advocate for social justice and economic empowerment. Despite your wealth and political attainment, you remained accessible, calm, humble, and unassuming - rare qualities amongst our political elites today.

In the midst of all the outstanding achievements, you never stopped seeking knowledge and garnering degrees and certificates in Nigeria and abroad.

You consistently brought life, pomp and pageantry to every occasion that you attended and always moved to exchange pleasantries with everyone sitting including people you have political disagreements with.

But like an avatar, your time went up suddenly, and your Maker called you to rest when the ovation was highest, despite being poised to become the next Governor of Anambra State by popular demand.

Acting like one with pre-knowledge of being an avatar, you asked Ndi Anambra for four years with which to set a new template of development for the state but behold it was time up for you and time to take a well-deserved rest.

Your free spirit, accessibility, humility, and love for mankind will forever remain legacies that shall stand as reference points for generations to come.

Today was planned to be a day of multiple smiles, with gifts, including the Hilux you promised me and the Sienna vehicle for the media team. But who are we to question your Maker, who decided to call you home when the ovation was loudest?

Your deft touches as Senate Committee Chairman on petroleum downstream, Joint Committee Chairman on Turn Around Maintenance and Joint Committee Chairman on Oil Theft Investigation have triggered reforms and interventions that will help Nigeria achieve sufficiency in locally produced petroleum products.

Happy posthumous birthday, Ebubechukwu Uzo Nnewi.
Indeed, your legacy lives on.

Signed,

Kamen Chuks Ogbonna

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Commends President Tinubu on Signing Southeast Development Commission Bill

Anambra South Senatorial District - Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, CON, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the Southeast Development Commission Bill into law.

In a statement, Senator Ubah praised the President's commitment to addressing the region's development challenges and fostering unity. He noted that the passage of this bill marks the culmination of the Southeast's tireless efforts as championed by the Senator and other lawmakers to establish a development commission that will address the region's critical needs.

The Senator highlighted that the bill's signing reverses the disappointment caused by former President Mohammed Buhari's denial of assent, which had reinforced feelings of injustice and hindered APC's progress in the region. He also commended President Tinubu for paving the way for meaningful collaboration between the Southeast and the federal government, ensuring the region's growth and prosperity.

You may recall that Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah , CON, re-presented the bill to the senate, on the 4th of October, 2023, after former president Buhari denied assent to the initial version.

While addressing the media then after the bill scaled first reading, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, CON, said;

"On Wednesday, 4th October 2023, at plenary, the Southeast Development Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2023 (SB.129) which was sponsored by me passed the First Reading.
It should be noted that the earlier version of the Bill was denied presidential assent by the past administration and that motivated me to introduce a fresh version of it with provisions that will convince the Senate and the President to support it and sign it into law respectively.

This fresh version of the Bill is aimed to establish a Commission that will focus on the development of the Southeast region of Nigeria which has been historically marginalized and has faced various challenges in terms of infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development", end of quote.

The Southeast Development Commission Bill aims to establish a commission responsible for managing funds allocated from the Federation Account for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads, houses, and other infrastructural damage suffered by the region due to the civil war. The commission will also tackle ecological problems and related environmental or developmental challenges in Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, and Ebonyi states.

Senator Ubah's appreciation reflects the collective gratitude of the Southeast people, who eagerly anticipate the positive impact of this development commission.
