Thank you bro

Diceman8:
As far as i can tell. Preliminary review is still in ending april up to june. So most people have submitted their documents and still waiting for interview. Preliminary review wait time is currently 4-8 weeks, with corrections it could be more.

Note: some people somehow get interviews even if they applied later than some others, i dont know how this works but it could either be those people dont remember when they joined the waiting list or the people handling their cases are faster? Who knows lol

You can get your health insurance at any stage, you can even bring it along on your interview day. However, I advise you to wait until they ask you to submit documents for the preliminary review. Make sure the insurance start date matches the date of entry you indicated on your VIDEX form.

I recommend Dr. Walter Insurance. You can register within minutes, and the confirmation will be sent to your email for upload. You don’t need to make any payment in Nigeria; simply choose the “future payment” option. You will only start paying after you arrive in Germany.
What about those of us who filled in a set arrival date in the form we submitted has passed? What should we do, or fill in the health insurance date of entering, and if possible, the set date of arrival on a work contract has also passed? Will they ask for a new work contract with another upfront arrival date? Omo the waiting time is still next year ooo

The Consul-General of Federal Republic of Germany in Lagos, Mr. Daniel Krulls, has said the consulate was putting processes in place to fast-track visa processing for Nigerians, with a target of three-week maximum processing period for all categories of visas.Krulls made the revelation, yesterday, at a media briefing to outline his plans as the new CG of the Consulate, expressing enthusiasm on potential stronger economic cooperation between Germany and Nigeria.

My friends, please help me with these questions. I was recently offered an employment contract in July, but since the salary did not meet the Blue Card requirements, I couldn't process my visa through the consulate portal. My contract stated that I was supposed to start work on September 1st.

To avoid wasting the opportunity, I applied for a regular work visa in August, even though the waiting time is over a year. I also decided to apply for an Opportunity Card, as I qualified for it. In my application, I used the work contract as a substitute for the blocked account or declaration of commitment.

I know the work contract is supposed to be part-time at 20 hours per week, but mine is full-time at 38 hours.

Now that the intended start date of September has passed, will they require me to submit an updated contract when my turn comes? Or will they still demand a part-time work contract? I'm concerned that by that time, the company may no longer need my services to meet any further requirements.

My people, there is a work appointment waiting list of over a year. Is it advisable to apply through the Ghana embassy if their process could be faster for a Nigerian?

The trend of discussing work visas is gradually coming to an end. The number of work visas being talked about has drastically decreased, and the family reunion visa, which has been sustaining this trend, has also seen a reduction.

I would like to sincerely thank all the experts in this trend for their support with work visas and family reunion visas. You have helped many people relocate to Germany with your valuable insights, while agents often charge exorbitant fees and still scam many.

Nairaland.com has truly been an eye-opener for many of us. Therefore, I urge all our experts to continue their great work here and not let this trend fade away.

As for me, I was able to apply for a work permit visa to take up employment as an academic after receiving my employment contract and employment relationship document as a delivery driver two days ago. I am currently hopeful that they will verify my documents and update me within 1-2 weeks.

My friends, I need your help! After two years of applying to numerous delivery driver jobs, I finally received an employment contract and necessary documents from a company, which allows me to proceed with my work permit visa application.

I am thrilled about this development and want to ensure that I submit the correct visa application.

I hold a Master’s degree in Management, but I will be going to Germany for a delivery driver position. Could someone please advise me on which type of visa I should apply for and the possible time frame for processing? I’m expected to start work on September 1st, so your urgent input would be greatly appreciated!
I have obtained my employment contract documents and Employment relationship documents from my company

Big man, there is no magic that anyone can perform on your behalf in the name of professional services. Instead, you should consider using that money to add to your mom's account. All the suggestions provided here to you are genuine. Based on that letter, the refusal was due to three main issues. Address these issues and pray for better outcomes.

1. You stated that your mom has 800k, yet she is also retired. It's unclear how she has that amount in her account. You should consider explaining her income source, as this could be interpreted as a home tie, suggesting she has commitments back home after her visit.

2. The second issue is the home tie. Having just two daughters is not sufficient to demonstrate a strong connection to Nigeria; her ties to the UK appear to be stronger.

3. The third issue relates to your income. While you intend to sponsor her visit, it seems there is a lump sum that was not clearly specified outside your credit and debit cards, which you have not explained to their satisfaction.

I may be wrong in my observation but I hope you can work on these issues and reapply again

Thank you for your quick response brother. I have read people talking about that man at the embassy checking documents on how he is very strict,

That man may be the 1st point of contact to start with me.
Anyway, maybe it is to inform them that they can obtain a quick appointment without the Federal Employment Agency approval document. How I wish someone here who has passed through the same process could testify about it because obtaining that document is what makes employers feel reluctant to respond

MedBose:
I can not confirm anything to you though. On which authority would I do so, when just like you, I am also waiting on this thread.

If you have followed comments on here, you will have read that quiteseveralf persons have gotten appointments through the online consular service portal. What I cannot say is if they were also required to compulsorily upload the ZAV approval on the portal before they got an appointment, but I highly doubt this was the case.

Yes sir, you are very correct, his emploulyer is willing to give the employment contract but federal employment Agency approval document is the issue here.

Please sir, confirm to me that with out the Federal Employment Agency approval document.
He can have a quick appointment to meet up his prospective starting work date?
I'm just assuming to be happy if what I'm thinking of is, if what you just said is true and confirmed sir?

MedBose:
Unfortunately, I do not know and do not have the answer to the classifications under the labour shortage demand jobs and immigration.

I do know that the ZAV approval can be gotten with respect to the skilled immigration act et al. Now I would think that rather than bother myself on what is and what is not; let your friend communicate with the potential employer and request for ZAV. If the employer can, they would, if they can’t, then that’s that.

Why does he need the ZAV anyway? Nowadays you can get appointments through the consular service portal if he is applying for a work visa from Nigeria and has an employment contract. Right?

Thank you for your quick response, I think you have answered the needed questions in detail but I still want to know, I thought parcel delivery driver fall under transport and logistics industries that is also listed in Germany as among labor shortage demand for immigrants to apply?

Educational qualifications are Masters in Management
Post Graduate Diploma in Management
BSc in Economics

Please clear me on this if I may be wrong

MedBose:
I think you have answered the main question already, when you mentioned the comment from the “employer”.

1. There is only one way to get the ZAV approval, and that is through the employer. The employer has to be willing to apply and pay for it. Part of what is required is the educational qualification of the potential employee. Whether the application is successful or not is dependent on ZAV’s review and processing.

2. A comment on here mentioned the cost is about EUR 411. There may be need for recognition of educational qualifications (if relevant) which may cost another xx EUR.

3. It can take anytime from 2 weeks to 3/4 months. Remember it is dependent sometimes on other required documents; for instance the recognition of your educational qualification etc. Also on whether the application was made at a time when there are lots of public holidays and/or personal holidays/leave.

I do not know if “he” can facilitate the process, because the process of getting the ZaV approval is initiated and done by the potential employer (when the approval is out, it is sent to the employer and the employer sends it to the potential employee). What he needs is to submit all the required documents needed for the application to the employer. So he should try persuading the employer to give it a try on his behalf. A parcel delivery driver may be a hard sell, but it is always better to first try and who knows, his case may be different - for good.
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Singlefile(m): 12:17am On Nov 22, 2024
I would like to know if it is possible for an employer in the transportation and logistics industry, such as a parcel delivery driver, to hire a foreign employee and apply for the federal employment agency's approval document in Germany. An employer mentioned that it might be difficult to obtain this approval because the agency may ask if there are available drivers in Germany for the position instead of hiring foreigners. He plans to consult his lawyers for guidance.

1. Can anyone who has gone through this or a similar process share insights or advice on how to obtain the federal employment agency's approval more efficiently?
2. What are the potential costs associated with this process?
3. How long does it typically take to receive approval?

I would like to share any helpful ideas with him to facilitate this process.
Thank you for your prompt response!

Thank you so much for the quick response and patient with me. I would inform my employer about it but I'm afraid if he will respond positively because from the start, he said, he can make my employment contract available while I sort myself out with the remaining.

MedBose:
@SingleFile

I think ideally when you are employed in a German organization you can enroll for public insurance from your employment start date. However, the German consulate in Lagos would require you to submit a health/travel health insurance for at least 90 days starting from the date you intend to enter Germany. So in many cases as seen on this thread, people have mentioned using AXA Mansard and another foreign one, is it FINTIBA? I am not sure and can’t remember (read through this thread on Nairaland, I’m sure you will find very useful information).

The approval from the federal employment agency is the “pre-approval document” I mentioned earlier. I do not think it is a compulsory document your employer MUST provide to you, because it is not a contractually binding document between you and the employer. It is most useful to you because it helps you fast track your visa application and you get an interview date in at most three weeks if you have obtained the pre approval document (this is backed by the German laws as well).
I would like to think that your employer would like you to resume in good time, so you can inform them that this document is necessary for this to be possible. You are right, this document is applied for by the employer and when the preapproval is obtained, then it is given to you. Someone in a previous post mentioned it costs about 411 EUR, if I remember rightly, not sure.
