In summary, it is wiser to take up an NLNG GT job and work for 3-5years, afterwhich you can go and pursue your CEO dreams. What about that?

Lols... seun could have been an employee of a cybercafe with peanut pay the time he started NL( Note: he has the title CEO at this time) and GT's at that time must have pride themselves being employees of access bank. I am not saying there aren't GT's of this period that are doing well or doing better than seun. Well, story short, I know someone that got into GT bank about the time NL started, today he is resigned or sacked... can't tell, there are business that started about the time NL started but today they are no more. You see, there are loads of factors that determine the fate of an individual or business. As for employees, take the case of Ibe, he is a minister with about 40 million salary or lesser. There are CEO's earning over 100 million but who gets more opportunities in kind and cash...you will agree Ibe. Mypoint about start ups is there are individuals that would have said same thing you said earlier about GT and CEO when these startups started.

Have you asked yourself how many GT's of NLNG or IOC's are CEO of great enterprises now. I am not saying there are none. I read about start ups like hotels.ng, paga, iroko TV that have turned multi million enterprises in 5 years span, I can't remeber any earning that much as an employee except the paga guy that worked at Cisco US. I am not saying it's a bad thing being a highly paid employee, we ought to be fair in comparison. If you must know employees of these companies remain employees for a long time. I worked for an indigenous service firm that was about 20 years old. The MD is a Billionaire, I am not sure many GT's 20 years ago in IOC's are worth more than 500 million presently. Ibe kachickwu left a 120 million CEO job to become a minister but we all know which will provide more opportunities for him. The other guy said Title or total compensation. I agree, however some title affords you more opportunities in cash and in kind than total compensation of some position tho the compensation of the former might be lower.

you made valid points. Hope my points were not misconstrued? I didn't look at it from the perspective of startup. We are comparing two employees with title and pay. Not Seun(CEO of Nairaland) and Access Bank GT

A high paid GT position puts you in a position to raise capital and become a higher paid CEO in a shorter time than starting as a lowly paid CEO that might never achieve his dreams

I concur. What will title bring to the table. A GT position of 28mpa is better than a CEO position of 8mpa
