Eruditor: Klopp himself said "there are some things you cannot coach". All that talk about they sold X Y Z is cool zobo. Barca still owe's Liverpool more than half of Coutinho money. Klopp did an Interview with Arsene in Dubai and said he asked the club if they could afford those players and the club said yes so he went for them. Baba Eruditor, happy new year. Shuoo. Leave these people. |

patrickmuf: When some of us pointed it out sometime ago, they said not everybody must be Mourinho as if you must go to the extreme when expressing your dissatisfaction with the quality of personnel available for you to work with. Ole isn't even bold enough to have a go at the players after a poor performance. It irks me when I remember that he played under SAF who's anger when we were playing badly was on full display even on the sidelines. Many a times under SAF, we'd have an average 1st half but you'd be certain that even if we were 2 goals down we were going to do a comeback irrespective of who we were up against.
I repeat, the huge outlay on Maguire looks like a waste to me. We are conceding almost every other game. Liverpool were like us before VVD came in and stabilized their back 4 with his leadership qualities and performance which inspires confidence among his fellow defenders. Maguire on the other hand hasn't done anything of note to justify the price tag, at the moment, I am forced to ask if we'd be doing any worse with a CB partnership of Smalling and Lindelof deputized by Tuanzebe and Rojo?
People are quick to say Ole's signings have been our best players but it's not true. I am not a fan of James, we have seen players like him before, once the opponent realizes that he is only effective when he has space to run and closely marks him, he becomes useless.
AWB for all his defensive solidity was ran ragged yesterday because rather than attempt to beat him to the byline and Cross, Auba almost every time choose to cut infield wherein, AWB couldn't slide or dragged him infield and then release Kolisinac on the overlap. Even when Wan-Bissaka pushed forward in the 2nd half as we began mounting pressure, he looked clueless in attack. Raphael when he was here could beat his man and deliver a great cross but with Wan-Bissaka, it doesn't seem natural.
Maguire is the worst of the lot, he is slow on the ball and without the ball. See how easy it was for Lacazette to turn such a big man. You can't help but compare him to VVD to see just how much we were fleeced by Leicester City who were supposed to be defensively susceptible after losing Maguire but have gone on to be even better. In one move, VVD creates a goal scoring opportunity with long diagonal passes but our own Danny Shittu will hand on the ball as if he has anything up his sleeves only to pass the ball to Shaw when pressed. He is already looking like the worse buy of the season especially if Pepe finds his feet.
Ole has big decisions to make like dropping Shaw and De Gea, demanding more from Rashford away from the goals he has scored wherein, he has been poor in most of the games, challenging AWB to do better up front or risk losing his place in the team to Dalot (I suspect Dalot is not injured), dropping Maguire or taking the captain's armband off him. In all, I don't trust Ole to be bold enough to do any of the aforementioned so we just have to live with mediocrity... Your tears are like musical notes, we can turn it to an organized sound.
