raumdeuter: Seems you have been found out on logic once more and you cannot cope
Pep is rigid, thats why he isnt winning, how are the unrigid coaches faring? Are they winning?
Skimple does not eat beans thats why he isnt tall, the people eating beans day and night, are they tall?
Simple logic but the shekpite in you must show Egbon, why you never still wan get sense na. Can you quote where I said the bolded? You always let your emotions affect your hands while typing. Pep is a good coach and his tactics have been working fine for him but when he meets a team whose tactics are ‘unorthodox’ and matches his team toe to toe, he should bow and lose? |

raumdeuter: Making excuses for Pep? How can I make excuses for someone who shat on your favourite league.
If rigid tactics was the problem, the coaches with unrigid tactics what have they won?
You claimed Pep has not been winning because he is rigid, at least we should see what those who are not rigid are winning
if someone claimed you are not tall only because you don't eat beans, what will be the next logical question? The people eating beans are they taller? Why does it sound like you are still pained from yesterday’s match? Tears are just littered all over this post. When you are emotionally stable, we go discuss. |

Eruditor: lol. Every manager does that. Only difference is Pep's style more often than EVERY OTHER MANAGER's does NOT rely on moments of individual brilliance for his team to be bailed out. They beat Tottenham 4-3 and beat Monaco 5-3. If VAR was being rightly used, then City should have lost 2-1 to LFC first leg and then led 2-0 second leg before half time.
I don't know the game where his talented players were marked all through especially when you look at the stats of the game. Do you think Klopp set up for City to have all that possession, corners etc? I think so. From the first minute, Klopp’s fullbacks had already started with long balls to the attackers in a bid to by pass City’s midfield and it worked well resulting in two quick goals. Even the third goal was also a cross into the City defence. Klopps’ aim was to score as many goals as possible before City gained control of the match. Only Sterling I think had much of the ball and he was well isolated from the rest of the attackers too. Let’s not forget that Firmino and Manè missed some begging chances also. Let’s let it slide though. Pep is a brilliant manager, I just feel he needs to tweak and be flexible sometimes with his tactics to see through difficult matches. |

raumdeuter: That meant Ferguson had stability in the richest club and with virtually no rival domestically for half of his tenure and could only win 2 CL titles in 20yrs
That is a terrible record
Its like Pep coaching the richest team in Europe and his next biggest rival in the league is Arsenal. Are you making excuses for Pep now? raumdeuter: Can you answer the quoted question you asked and change the name of the coach from Pep to any other coach
E.g
So, if the individual talented players are marked all through and Zidanes/Contes/ Mourinhos/Klopps tactics fail to work, how would he see off teams that matches his team toe to toe? The Key word in my discourse with erudi.tor was ‘Pep’s rigid tactics’. For once, argue with a sane mind. |

raumdeuter: That was the chorus of EPL fans on this forum. And I have quoted at least 4 of them in the past who said it
Ferguson managed Manchester United a club richer than Barcelona Bayern and Man City. Fergie was there breaking transfer fees record for fun
Pallister Stam and Rio were most expensive defenders Manchester United was one club. Can you name another club he managed where he was expected to win UCL? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by SkimpleD: 11:58pm On Nov 11, 2019 |
Eruditor: More often but he has won less? It means his style is not as successful.
I did not say LUCK is the only reason people don't win. I said sometimes luck is the reason someone like Pep did not win. Last season against Tottenham is an example.
Sometimes, you'd be making sense then you'd remember that you have to pander to your CFC fanbase then you'd veer off.
A coach sets-up a system to maximise the individual talents of his players. For e.g Messi's individual brilliance is still there yet EV is not winning UCLs or trebles. Why? because his system is not fully maximizing the potential of all the players at his disposal.
Fabinho's goal yesterday is it not individual brilliance? I agree a coach needs to set up his system to maximize players talents. EV’s tactical onus cannot be compared to Pep’s. I think you are becoming emotional too. I never undermined Peps brilliance. My stance has been that Pep is rigid; sets up his team in a particular fashion and when things go south, would require an individual brilliance to see it through. So, if the individual talented players are marked all through and Peps tactics fail to work, how would he see off teams that matches his team toe to toe? |

raumdeuter: You are asking Pep to do what how many people have done in history?
What you call emotions is what I call logic. Pep come and prove yourself in EPL, he has done that. WHy the need for post shifting when you didnt ask him to win the CL
The so called Great Alex Ferguson won 2 CL in his entire career. When are you going to question him for not winning more Lol. Can you quote where I posted the bolded? Or forever stop singing it like a nursery rhyme. The so called Great Alex Ferguson managed sides like Barca? Or a great team like Bayern? Or an Arab money team like ManCity? See why your emotional outbursts won’t help you? |

Eruditor: Even though you are right that he can be rigid, you are wrong @ KO stages. Afterall, he has won 2 UCLs. Alot of things go into losing a game in the UCL. Sometimes, you just need LUCK. Luck, No. I believe more in flexibility, knowing how to adapt to different teams tactics and tweaking them to ones benefits. I see Kloop doing that more often. As much as Pep plays a very fine brand of football, he still relies on individual brilliance to see through matches; Messi comes to mind. It’s no brainer that since he left the ‘goat’, he hasn’t been able to win another UCL title. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by SkimpleD: 10:00pm On Nov 11, 2019 |
Eruditor: Both managers tweaked things but Liverpool were more clinical. I just maintain that Pep's way is consistently proven to bring long lasting results. There is also history working in LFCs favor. City last won at Anfield in 2003. There is a reason for that. Only in league and cup games. What happened to UCL games in the knockout stages? For a manager like Pep, it is expected he does better at the bigger stages. I believe this is where tactics are tweaked to ‘grind’ out results. Pep is just a rigid manager who would rather lose than play long balls to his striker to score. |

You know shots that hit the bar or just go wide by an inch won't be counted? So Angelino's attempt won't be counted.
You know when Raheem received a back-heel from KdB and was one on one but thought to square to it to Gab Jesus, who scoffed it, won't be counted?
I thought you said Pep did not know how to play them?
Lampard is allowed to play well and lose to United 4-0 but if it is Pep it is a crime? Raheem messed up that move big time. I already stood up from my seat thinking he would take a shot and place it at the far end of the post. e pain me. |

airmark: That stuff made me scream each time they did it. One of them caught Fraudiola's defence napping, for that Salah's goal.
I had said it before, Klopp is my best coach for now. Fraudiola couldn't find answers to his questions yesterday. I think for the first time I watched KDB struggle in the midfield. He functions more when the ball is played on the field. Bypassing that midfield brought City’s shambolic defence face to face with Manè and Salahs runs. The FBs kept throwing the balls to either of them. |
