I said it here some months ago that APC is fielding Atiku as a mole contestant. They did it with PDP in 2023. Very advanced top game. Once there is Atiku in the picture, it becomes a rigging game and no longer about counting people's votes.

Igbo presidency is a misnomer. Just as there is no Yoruba presidency or Hausa presidency or Kanuri presidency, the argument for Igbo presidency does not make sense.

You are Nigerian president and not president of any ethnic group.

Now, the person they are promoting as the Igbo candidate in 2027 may have set Igbos quest for national politics by several years. Obi won Lagos in 2023 and Atiku won Osun in 2023 (Tinubu's zone). Tinubu won Borno in 2023 (Atiku's zone). No politician got 25% in Obi's zone. So Obi can win other zones, but other candidates cannot perform well in his zone?

The way the southeast voted in 2023 sent a clear message to the other regions that Obi was an Igbo project. That is the easiest way to undersell him.

Any Igbo man who wants to play national politics must first integrate nationally. Tinubu did that with Atiku (2007), Ribadu (2011) and Buhari (2015). How has Obi integrated himself? Is it by building boreholes? Is it by eating Iftar during Ramadan? Is it by paying condolences? Is it by saying things that he has no plans?

Let us remove Nigeria for the moment. If there is a hypothetical Igbo nation, will Igbos allow Obi lead it?

In 2027, Obi would likely go for a second term if he wins. No one believes his only one-term tale. If Atiku wins in 2027, he would disrupt the ambitions of his compatriots in the north who may want to run in 2031. So many politicians may prefer Tinubu as he is sure to complete his tenure in 2031. Nigerians see that the opposition has no alternatives. Atiku who was overpromising suddenly stopped, When Charles Aniagolu asked Kenneth Okonkwo how Atiku's subsidy would be implemented, Kenneth Okonkwo said since subsidy was removed without a plan, subsidy would be brought back without a plan. Kenneth Okonkwo wanted to be Atiku's running mate o.

Go and check the entire south east governors and compare based on appointments who doesn't care about tribe the most. Obi cares about nothing but values, and doesn't give a damn about who you are. If he gave a damn, he would be working with Wike and many other heavyweights today probably including Sowore, if he gave a damn, he will be partisan. Even Atiku as a former vice president has not done half of what he has done in the north already as of today based on national interest. E no send anybody based on tribe.

It can still be conducted by the same interim INEC. There's nothing much to do there but monitor and announce the electronic votes and the citizens can follow the process live/real time.

Note that you have not added any useful suggestion apart from making noise. Parties are for campaign structures. Such electronic voting doesn't have to involve parties.

Also campaigns should not be allowed for such roles or cause disqualifications, just put your portfolio on. The same way jury selection occurs in the USA

He was caught between a rock and a hard place.
If he backed Atiku's proposal, he will be seen as lacking originality and also lose his fellow billionaire friends who are the prime beneficiaries of naira devaluation which they've all applauded.

He had no choice but to play safe but I think he did it very weakly. Since Atiku raised that counterpunch, I expected Obi to have come from the angle of accountability. That's the lowest hanging fruit.

Whether subsidy is removed or reintroduced, the fundamental thing is accountability. If subsidy is removed, where's the benefit of the removal? If subsidy is introduced. How do we ensure its not corrupted and mismanaged?

In fact, I expected him to have raised a team of forensic analysts who would have shown how this govt has mismanaged the subsidy removal aftermath. Because that's why they are sending you to the govs. They can't account for the proceeds of subsidy removal on their own.

Obi seems unimaginative to me. He just goes with the flow and hopes the saintly and meek persona he's posturing (which makes him look like he's just catching cruise) will endear him to Nigerians as it did for Buhari. Unfortunately, he's dealing with a propaganda machine that can find dirt and magnify it even when none exists.

I think Obi doesn't have the stomach and the grit for 2027. That's my honest assessment. He should just collapse his campaign because in the end, He is being used as a canon to distract the opposition by the APC in my view.

No type of demarketing can subterfuge the fact that Obi is by far the best man on the ballot. Distraction my foot. Forensic analysts ko, that's more relatable in your opinion than explaining how 5%, just 5% of the subsidy money can make quality healthcare cheaper right there on TV, no expert involved. The only mistake he is making is campaigning like a true Christian, being open and truthful and letting people see him finish.

Find a man with anger problems, give him proper respect and love and you might just make a saint out of them.
