https://schoolnetwork.io/545/ideas-are-the-most-valuable-thing-in-the-world-handle-with-care-part-1 The most valuable resource in the world is not found in the ground, as gold, diamonds, and oil; it is, and will always be ideas in the minds of people, when harnessed properly. Some of the most valuable companies, in the world today, like Alibaba (China), Facebook (USA), Google (USA), are less than 15 years old, and yet each one of them is worth much more than some of the biggest resource companies like Anglo American (SA), BHP (Australia), which were built over 100 years. Companies like Apple, Alibaba, Google, and Facebook, are not built on natural resources, but harnessed ideas, better known as innovations. The amount of cash held by the top four tech companies, like Apple, Google, and Samsung, is more than all the economies of Africa, as well as all the economies of Latin America. I believe that each one of us, has the capacity to come up with "witty inventions", which can dramatically improve the lives of millions, whilst at the same time creating wealth for our nations. You might have an idea, for something completely new, or you might have an idea to improve something that exists, or you are working and have an idea to improve a process, or solutions that can make your organisation more profitable, or efficient. Many people do not know what to do when they have an idea, particularly one with which to start, even a new business. And this is what I want to talk about, in this post: The first thing, you must have is respect for ideas, and to value ideas. In business when an idea has been harnessed properly, we call it, Intellectual Property (IP). Never steal or misuse other people's ideas, particularly when they are protected by patents, and Trade Marks, Copy writes, or Trade Secrets, measures. When you have an idea, which you think is a new innovation, or even invention, don't go around telling everyone you meet (including your friends), this is like leaving your wallet on a bar counter, to go to the toilet! Discretion, discretion, discretion....!!! There are people who will even go on my Facebook site, and share their idea, with 3m people, who read my posts: Let's say that they are very generous! Some people prepare detailed, documents and send them to third parties, whom they think can help them. If you do that you will end in tears, and you probably don't deserve any sympathy! So what do you do, if you have a new innovation, or business idea? |

This is one of the few mails I receive. Please read and also share. Good evening Olorisupergal, I would like to report the management of Queen's College Yaba. As I write, the principal and vice principals have, over a month now, deliberately suppressed several complaints of sexual harassment which my daughter and some other students have consistently reported to their class teacher, their year head, the head of department of the accused teacher and the principal's office. My daughter is in JSS2, second term at Queen's College. During their visiting day in first term she complained to me that there is an Integrated Science teacher, Mr Oshifala who has been harrassing her and some other students. I asked her if the man had touched her and she said no, he only tells them that they are looking beautiful and he wants to marry them. I dismissed her complaints as typical compliments from a teacher. However, two weeks later, on Thursday, she called me late at night and she was crying bitterly. I could barely hear what she was saying until after I had calmed her down. Me myself I was scared, wondering what had happened. She told me then that this same Mr Oshifala, who by the way, lives in the boarding house ares, had cornered her on her way back from easing herself just before lights out. She told me that he called her and she thought he wanted to punish her for leaving her dorm room when it was almost lights out. But when she got closer to him, he was smelling of alcohol and she ran away from him. But he ran after her and grabbed her and tried to kiss her while touching her private parts. She started screaming and then students started coming out so he left her and pretended to punish her. But the students already know his ways so they started booing him until the housemistress came out and chased them inside, telling them to be quiet and that nothing was actually going on. I told my daughter to calm down and prayed with her and I told her not to leave her dorm room unless with another student. I got to the school first thing the next day and spoke with the housemistress who confirmed to me that the story was true. but she warned me that the Mr Oshifala is a favourite of the Vice Principal Mrs Kayode. I spoke to a couple of otehr teachers and they all confirmed this story and the Mr Oshifala's tendencies. The teachers also mentioned that he had ben reported before at the Abuja Headquarters for sexual harassment and he was almost sacked until he begged this same Vice Principal who squashed the complaints. I went to the vice principal myself and complained to her about my daughter's issue. Mrs Kayode and anothe Vice Principal Mrs Njoku were both in the room when I entered. From the looks on their faces, I knew my daughter wa stelling the truth. Mrs Njoku soon left and it was just me and Mrs Kayode. She then told me (and these are her words) that even though my daughter was telling the truth, Oshifala is her man and he does a lot of work for her and there is nothing me or anyone can do to move him out of the school. She also turned around to threaten me that if I like, I can go to Abuja to report, nothing would happen. And that I should not forget that this is a government school so instead of her or Mr Oshifala being sacked, my daughter would be dismissed instead!! As I type this, I have already found another school for my daughter. She has left the boarding house and once their exams are over she would leave Queen's College. She told me that this Mr Oshifala sees her every time she has class in the labs but she never goes there alone, only when her friends are with her. She says he always tells her that her mother tried to report him, but in the end she is the one who would leave the school while he would remain. These people wanted to traumatize my daughter!! They know this man is a child molester and yet they still keep him not only in the school but in the boarding house area where these young girls live. He is free to roam about at night drunk as a skunk and no one does anything because of his connections. Even worse, they now have young men as security guards who, some parents have even complained at the last PTA meeting are already harassing their daughters. I beg you to please expose these people. They think they are bigger than just one parent, but I know one day their time will come. Please feel free to contact me if you need any more details. I hope their evil deeds come to light and they get the punishment they deserve. -- Chinenye Your advise to Chinenye please. Pls let us go on our knees and ask GOD to expose this evil tutor and The Vice Principal. The next child to be harassed could be your daughter, Niece or your friend,s daughter. Saraki said the same conditions have not also been met in the instant charge the government entered against him. Specifically, he observed that the tribunal had in the case against Tinubu, stressed that the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, which recommended the prosecution, ought to have invited the defendant to clarify discrepancies in the assets he declared, before the charge was initiated. Agabi said his client was never invited by the CCB to admit or deny the alleged irregularities that were discovered in four assets declaration forms he submitted to it. “My lord he has not been invited up till now. That was the same reason you gave for allowing Tinubu to go home, on the ground that ten other governors were invited by the CCB to make clarifications on discrepancies in the assets they declared. “But till now, the defendant here, who is the Senate President of this country has not been invited. It is our position that the law is not discriminatory”, Agabi submitted. More so, Agabi queried the powers of the Attorney General of the Federation to institute the charge, a responsibility he said was legally vested on the CCB to the exclusion of any other anti-graft agency in the country. He said the laws establishing the Bureau stipulated that any one perceived to have falsely declared his assets, must be summoned to give explanations. “The defendant was never afforded such opportunity, not even a chance to kneel down and apologise”, Agabi stated, insisting that the charge was not only politically motivated, but also brought in bad faith. He said failure by the CCB to summon his client to give explanations was not only fatal to the charge but indicated a presumption of regularity in favour of the defendant. Maintaining that his client was denied fair hearing, Agabi contended that Saraki’s fresh application was totally different from what was earlier decided by the Supreme Court. Agabi urged the tribunal to quash the charge against his client and discharge him accordingly. Saraki who stormed the tribunal yesterday with 80 lawyers, was accompanied by more than 60 Senators, including the Senate leader, Ali Ndume, Andy Ubah and former governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji. Meantime, FG, yesterday, opposed Saraki’s application which it said constituted a gross abuse of the judicial process. Government lawyer, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, urged the tribunal to dismiss the application which he said was only aimed at scuttling the trial of the defendant. Jacobs relied on sections 220, 221 and 396 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA, 2015, and argued that the law provided that such objections must be considered along with the substantive case and ruling delivered at the end of the trial. https://schoolnetwork.io/278/discharge-me-like-you-discharge-tinubu-saraki-begs-cct#919 |

Hide Folders on Android devices; learn how to hide files/folders on your Android smartphones and tablets Easy way to secure your Files and Folders in Android, here is how to hide files and folders on Android devices Android smartphone has become the greatest boon in today’s life and most of the people would love to own an Android device, this is true for youngsters as well as oldies. Android is an operating system which provides many features to the user and hence it has gained such a vast publicity in a small time span. Now, users also happen to save some important documents or personal videos and images or information in the Android for their convenience. It could happen that the smartphone may be accessible to friends or some family members and could be a case wherein they might land up getting access to this extremely confidential information which user does not want to share with anyone. If you are one of those who want to hide your files or folders from such unwanted access please read the below instructions and safely hide your files and folders from anyone who gets access to your phone: Check if your Android device has the file explorer; mostly it would be available; however if your device does not have one then download the very versatile ES File Explorer File Manager from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en Open the file explorer also known as file browser and search for your file which has your confidential data that you do not wish to share with anyone You need to select the file or the folder and click on the “rename” option Now put “a dot” in the prefix that means put this sign prior to the name of the file or folder (for e.g. If you want to save some folder which has images then you need to put dot in front of the name of the folder as given here – .images) Basically Android is Linux based and when we use a (.) it thinks that this is a system file and by default it will hide this file or the respective folder……easy isn’t it? If you want to open this hidden file it is simple, just go to your file explorer and select this option “Show hidden file or folder” Suppose someday you feel that now that folder need not be in a hidden state all you need to do is rename the file by removing the (.) for e.g. if your file was “.image” now make it “image”….as simple as that. Just by following these simple steps user can easily hide their files or folders from unwanted intrusions. So the data is now totally secured in the Android system and it cannot be seen either in gallery or in explorer. Not only that if user wants to get their file back from hidden mode even that is possible and user can hide and unhide their important data umpteen times. Besides this user can also use the Applock to protect their applications from intruders. As the name suggests it provides privacy to the users. Important videos or pictures, chats and even sms, contacts and other apps like Facebook, Gmail……many more can be password protected from other users who might use their Android device, for e.g. friends or kids borrowing the Android device to play games. User needs to open the Applock, go to the Left side menu and in the settings they can lock the required applications from intruders. To unlock these applications either user can enter “#password” in their dial pad, and tap call button to open AppLock. Or the Applock can be unlocked by putting “domobile.com/applock” and opening the website in the browser. User can also protect other users from unlocking their Applock by using the advanced settings option given in the main menu of Applock. The Applock is available in 3 methods: 1) Paid 2) Free and with ads 3) Free version. Users can avail Applock through this site: This Applock can be downloaded from here To ensure that all the files and contents of the Android device is always protected users need to follow the above given steps. So wishing all users and era of privacy!! https://schoolnetwork.io/260/hide-folders-on-android-devices-learn-how-hide-filesfolders-on-your-android-smartphones-and-tablets |
