well,i apreciate your pov....but the first rule i tell intending cucumber farmers who want to farm cucumber, is never to venture into it ,without a good source of irrigation and i base every thing based on my years of experience....i never said it was impossible , i only said it was not advicable. If anyone thinks he can realy on buckets of water to sustain his cucumber farm good luck.. And not once did i encourage farmers to buy hybrid seed, infact if u read carefully , u would see i highlighted that i was annoyed at how expensive they were..... I do not have to be smarter than a white man to recrate, a sample of a seed..all i have to do is copy and tada... 2 plus 2 will give u 4 anywere in the world regardless of ur skincolor...and on the issue of selling a bag of cucumber 2k during the rainy season..thats the esscence of this training , to beat cost of production down, that even if cucumber is sold at 1k..ur still gainingg cos ur didnt spend as much as those that produced theirs during the dry season...business is how much ur gain was at the end..nt howmuch u sold per bag...kindly add on whatapp, let me show u my personal seed replica of the cu99.. an effective good mulching pratice, will erradicate the need for weeding on our farmland...there by removing uneccesary expenses. You might say mulching films are quite expensive, especially if ur into large scale farming, one might spend btw 70 to 100 to get enough mulching firm to cover an acre of land ...is it worth it, yes if u have the capital..but what if i said you can mulch a whole acre of land without stressing your pocket, with simple easily readily available materials around you which can last a yr or two if manged well..
imagine a scenario were u generate everything your farm requires from what u once taught were irrelevant items arround, wouldnt that be wonderful'?

We are going toward an era, were pro organic farming will be taking over, people are starting to take notice the effect of consuming crops produced using inorganic and synthsized chemicals ... High doses are dangerous to both man and enviroment.. Most people do not know how easy it is to make a bone meal,blood meal and a simple compost pile...without spending a dime. And thsi can be done in small places even in the back yard . Saving you the headache of buying npk fertlizers year in year out.

am not supposed to say this, but most hybrid seed sold in nigeria are produced here in nigeria, all you have to know is the detailed procedures....it pains me at the ridiculous prices in which hybrid seed are sold...i would like to give u a detailed procedure on how you can manufacture ur seed, saving cost in the process and even packaging nd selling it making even more money...if u think selling one 25kg of cucumber sack,5k is money....be ready to be blown away cos that same 25kg bag can give u 15 to 30k worth of seed.

What if i told you that i havent bought seed for the past 2yrs and counting , most farmers spend nothing less than 50k yearly on hybrid seed alone it could be more depending on the size of that farm. pls for all new intending farmers who want to venture into cucumber pls nd pls do not try cucumber in the dry season without a good source of irrigation, manual watering or attaching pumping machine to a hose, would do u no good.. Cos of the scarcity of water and how hot the sun is in my area, i only farm during the rainy season if u stay around abeokuta south, you would know what am talking bout, so to avoid story that touches the heart i do my farming during the rainy season and yes i always get back at least 50percent ROI and there are other way i make money on cucumber without even planting a seed, which i would share later on.
more importantly pls make sure ur farm land is faraway from construction sites and quary. This guys are actually rain chasers , thay tend to reduce the total rain fall of their area by 30percent i dont know how they do it but its a fact not a myth. Rain falls actually save a lot on fuel money for those that do irrigation on their farms. So you need all the help you can get from mother nature. And make sure you trat your land before and after cultivation, it helps reduces the amount u spend on spraying fertilizers on your farm.

he encouraged me to share my idea here, cos i had my reservations, every business should have its secrets. But i think i might just be helping someone out there.by writting Before i begin i would like to encourage some one out there, who has be saying i would do this , i would do that...look my friend if ur waiting for the stars to align before u make a move, you wont make any progress, start small, that way you will learn the basics of want ur into... I had to run errands for my younger cousin bow my heads and even paid good money to him for good 3 months, just to learn ......i look back and am very happy i did that investment, it was a steeping stone . You too can have such testimony just make a move . Get that cerificaton, that training , that,degree that sermina....wake up.am no motivational speaker. But i always try to encourage people in my own little way. Now back to my main reason of creating this topic.

after my post on the investment thread, on how i was able to make a profit of above 1m within a year, i got so much feed back, some belivers and doubters alike. I came across a young cucumber farmer, whos plight was touching. The summary of his story was that his return of his investment was more or less always equal to his total expenses.(no matter how much you invest in cucumber production,you cant sell more than the market prize) After much talk and investigation i find out that he like other farmers spend a lot on inputs without counting cost, with the hope of making millions after every harvest. I tried as much as i could to explain to him , that you can cut cost of production without affecting the quality and yield of produce. he had no idea what i meant,but he was amazed after all my explanation i opened his eyes and he asked me why didnt he think of all this simple steps b4 now...and i simple told him, no man is an epitome of knoweldge. We wont apreciate the simple importance of a rain coat till we get soaked in the rain

its one thing,to make money and its another thing to keep a level head and manage it.
3years ago after undergoing 3 months training in my cousins farm in that east ,i returned to start up my own ,it wasnt easy ...i wasnt even looking foward to make much from, i was just happy to be my own boss..but the wonders of this thailand hybrid seed can never be over emphasized. . That year was the best year of my life...i was able to get about 712 bags of cucmber after 4 planting cycles within 8th months from 2 acres of land, which i usually planted in batches.. Although that specie of cucumber was not what they were used to, i was able to penetrate the market by implementing some startegies. Although it took me till my 2nd harvest cycle to get my desired result.. But it was worth it, i had very few farmers into cucumber production then to compete with,the market was mine for the taken.. I made close to 1.6m after all expenses.. But then i started hanging with wrong people and started buying the wrong things...before the next farming cycle was near...i dnt even have up to 200k in my acc...lo and behold every ali and simbi started cucumber farms arround me....the money i was blessed with to move ahead became a hindrance to my progress, i lost my workers and close friends to pride and lavish spending.
Have learnt my lesson though,1 havent made close to that figure ever sice in a single year. But thank JAH am making progress and i think i will surpass that mark this year.
