He failed to conduct local government elections because of ongoing court cases that made it impossible until a resolution was finally reached. While local government activities continued to function, this does not excuse his inaction. The situation in Nigeria is more challenging than ever, and we cannot let personal beliefs, including support for Peter, blind us to the reality of the bad government policies and widespread corruption at high levels. Washing the fence is neither slavery nor a despicable act, as long as the individuals doing the work are being paid for it. In Europe, many buildings are contracted out to us for maintenance, which includes tasks such as washing the exterior windows, cleaning and vacuuming the stairwells, and ensuring that the walls of the building and the small back fence are cleaned twice a month. I don’t blame the nurse; within the nursing specialization, there are various areas of expertise. While she may be working in the accident and emergency department, her actions highlight the failing healthcare system, which reflects a lack of commitment from the current administration to revitalize the health sector. The accident victim was let down by the system, not by the nurse. Consider this: where are the paramedics on the scene? Who is the doctor on duty? What emergency plans and contingencies are in place to manage the financial implications in situations like this? Having worked in Nigeria's healthcare system and currently at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, I understand emergency situations better. I don’t blame the nurse; I blame the Nigerian system. It has failed its citizens. |

Consider this: the combined representation of the South-South and South-East regions is 23%, whereas the South-West comprises 22% on its own. Even at that Tinubu won't be able to contest for second term, it is a win win situation for Atiku. He has been able to proof the inadequacy of our legal system and finally Tinubu maybe be impeached causing an irreparable damage to his credentials as the first Nigeria president to be impeached and will end not just his legacies but political careers of his stooges. |
