You'll need to see a Dermatologist.
One of the popular treatment modality is Corticosteroids injection into the affected area.
This is giving at 4 to 6 weekly intervals until full regrowth is seen, and usually in combination with other medications like Minoxidil cream.

It's not completely irreversible. With good treatment, the hairs have a good chance of regrowth.
