Blackdutch Monroe real name Hilly Te Vrede, Te Vrede means at peace or content in Dutch.

Born in Suriname in South America a country which was colonized by the Dutch.

At the age one years old Blackdutch travelled with her Father to The Netherlands (country of the Dutch).

Her Father was a singer of traditional music and her mother had a great collection of soul music and Dutch Folks music.

As a kid she enjoyed the music that was played around the house and therefor knew at the tender age of 4 that she wanted to become a singer.

Growing up she was in several girl-groups travelling the globe working with people of Bad Boy rec. and Ruff Ryders ent.(U.S.A).

She also worked as a studio vocalist recording songs of different genres and different languages, so it wasn't hard for her to make that step into the African music market.

Teaming up with A-Unit king ''Da-Mack''they founded the record label A-Unit.

Blackdutch is featuring Da-Mack on the track ''Feel da Groove'' wich is making wave allover Nigeria.

Her Album Holla 4Afrika will be released later this year, we can expect crossover styles of Nigerian Urban and European popmusic.

With her warm personality, soothing voice and sassy style she is bound to win the heart of the Nigerian crowd.
