I've actually heard the same, so its true?
This is indeed true. I was shocked while buying some foodstuff yest'day on my way back from work. Prices of chicken and tomatoes were relatively low compared to what they were at this period last year. I think the drop in oil price has not really affected us domestically. And I also hope this trend is sustained.

Actually, this is not strange in Nigeria. Like a poster mentioned above, he could have been doing it Part Time. However, Ph.D. or not, it is obvious GEJ just does not have what it takes to be a LEADER. Pure and simple. To make things worse, he is a very poor MANAGER as well. He is not fit to govern a state (as records show) let alone preside over a country. The man just doesn't have it.
Now you are skewing to "GEJ is not a leader" from your previous ranting of "show us GEJ's publications". I think you guys are just confused grin

WRT coloured, the lowest ranked person among the authors is usually the main contributors, the others are usually reviewers who the lowest ranked person needs for the paper to easily fly or get published, just like upcoming musicians use already made stars to lunch their careers.
My friend you are very wrong! In the academia, a main researcher would always want to include the name of his supervisor(s) or an associate in his publication with the aim of giving them a form of recognition and/or appreciation for their efforts of any kind. Alternate names are also included to give the publication a form of credibility, most especially if they are people who have created a niche for themselves in that particular field. The two publications I produced during my MSc research, I included the names of my two supervisors to show appreciation and to recognise them.

At the moment all developmental projects in the state have been stalled all because he's chasing APC VP slot, which he wofully failed to clinch. Many contractors have demobilized from sites due to non-disbursement of funds for project execution. Workers have not been paid their salaries for about 3 months now. In fact it seems Rivers state does not have a governor at the moment.

Bunkum. Errant Nonsense. Gibberish.
Under his leadership, lecturers both in universities and polytechnics were on strike and for months, ur tout Wike had no clue on what to do about it but to sack entire Nigerian University lecturers.
It took a new minister just less than 24 hours after taking over for university lecturers to get back to class and u are here talking about wike educational transformation. Prof Ruki initiated the almajiri stuff and not wike. Show pictures of unity schools facelift u were deceived with also.
Wike has been going round for days now seeking the votes of pdp delegates and not once has he stated how he will better the lives of Rivers people. All what the fool has been saying is Amaechi is disrespecting Jonathan, amaechi is disrespecting shepo, apc is this and that.....
.etc
Does that suggest a man that has vision? He is empty up there and has no concrete blue print on how he intends governing Rivers.
You think you are the only one that lives in PH, Rivers state? I will continue to burst your lies which you feed to the unsuspecting public. I won't duel with you on insults, because people who lack decorum do that.

your smarter than Buhari himself

It's not about being smarter that Buhari. Can Buhari give what he does not have? He was once a leader and he knows transforming Nigeria in a short time is not a rocket science. Nigeria being a complex society would take some time to be gradually transformed from this state to where we all want it to be. And President Jonathan is already doing that by setting the transfortion agenda in motion. It only requires that we support him to actualize this dream for a better Nigeria.

Express to Nigerians what the change they should expect will look like.

1. Declare your assets immediately:...lets see if GEJ can do same.
2. Name key posts in your Cabinet now: Your first eleven. Fashola, Donald Duke, Amaechi, Oshiomole, Kwankwaso. For works, agriculture, education, power, etc.
3. Promise passage of Petroleum Industry Bill 3 months into office.
4. East-West road is not rocket science...promise to pump money there and finish it in one year max. Nigeria can do it!
5. Promise completion of 2nd Niger bridge which took 4 yrs of time wasting to commence.
6. Pick your EFCC head NOW! Find a Nigerian that most find to be incorruptible.
7. Promise Nigerians Shekau's head on a stick in one year. Pay a surprise visit to a barracks in the Nort East to encourage the troops.
8. Campaign massively in the South East and South South. Most have not benefited anything from GEJ anyway. They just need to be convinced that you love them.

I'm sensing the change in the air! Buhari supporters add your thoughts and suggestions.
My friend which East-West road are you talking about? is it the one that's undergoing massive construction, which i travelled through last weekend or another one? For your information, a lot of work has been done/and is still being done on that road. From Patani to warri, is 100% completed with markings and middle demarcations. From Patani to Mbiama (Yenagoa junction) is 60% completed- this rgion is taking much time and resources because i discovered there are so many bridges in this stretch. From Mbiama to Uniport junction is 70% completed, and from here to Eleme junction is 90% completed.
So there is nothing you can tell me about East-West road that I don't know of because I take this route every now and then. Please always say things the way they are and not deceive people with false information. Thank you.

My brother, he is not the only one that has had such experience, Rivers has a lot of thugs who don't reason with brains, Wike and his supporters believe firmly in Violence, Let a pdp member tell why he (Wike) deserves to be a Governor...
This is a fallacy many of you spew all the time. You guys mistake Wike's grassroot popularity to being a thug. One thing you have failed to understand is that these same people you refer to as 'thug' are the same people you will all fall back to for their votes. Wike is just being smart to have started his mobilisation at the grassroot level on time, because he understands the political game, hence this name-calling from his distracters. Rivers State belongs to PDP, APC can only try their best, but the true situation on ground will always emerge.
PoliticsRe: Politicisation Of Declining Oil Prices -by Olusola Daniel by smartcount003(m): 2:55pm On Dec 05, 2014
Abagworo:
End corruption and fake oil subsidy thats all. Obasanjo started in 1999 with oil at 20Dollars per barrel and was there till it started climbing. What it means is that 20Dollar oil price is more than enough to run the country. Even Abacha that looted billions of Dollars did so with oil selling mostly below 13Dollar per barrel.

No excuses!
Oga Abagworo, I'm really amazed by your analysis of the current economic realities in Nigeria. Even if oil price per barrel is $20 or $100, the law of the federation stipulates that whatever that's accruable to the federation must be shared among the various arms of gov't proportionally, while the excess (based on benck mark from budget) should be placed in the excess crude account. Unfortunately our ever 'over-ambituous' politicians, most especially the state Governors and legislators refused to buy the idea of creating a sovereign wealth fund, on the premise that it's not recognised by law.

Can you see now that all this while our lawmakers have never made any efforts to make sacrifices by passing a bill that would recognise the SRWF? They are only interested in their pockets, and never about anything that would benefit the common man and even the generation unborn.

I want to commend u for ur insight into Opobo Town, the Opobo link road was started by Peter Odili that was 2005 and as at 2006 the road has gotten to Ngo the lga headquater of Uche Secundus, from Ogoni thru Inyogoro town to link all the Aandoni towns, the one that Connects Opobo start from Inyongoro town pass thru Nkoro town to Kalaibiama an Opobo suburb town, as at now the road has gotten to Kalaibiama, soonest it will get to Opobo town, The Ogoni town u are talking of Is Kono home town of Joseph Yobo, from Ikot Abasi to Opobo by boat is just 5minute. All those areas in know them too well. Dakuku cannot win all the votes in Opobo town cos even when they are all in pdp there were still factions headed by Sam Accra Jaja, Sam Sam Jaja, Tamunosis Jaja, Dakuku etc. His candidature will not get him the votes of all the riverine people cos pdp is a grass root party in rivers state.
Kudos to you my brother for the clarification. People have failed to understand that PDP is a party which all parts of Rivers State hold dear to their hearts. The presence of an opposition as APC would definiely find it difficult to dislodge PDC from Rivers State. The last time I visited Nkoro, Opobo, and many of the Islands within Andoni LGA was in 2011. Then there was a great construction work going on, including the bridge linking Egendem and it's sister town. As for the road from Nkoro, that was planned to link Opobo, Kalaibiama and Queenstown the project was more like abandoned. I'm happy that efforts are being made to link these riverine communities.

This is the reason why I don't take most of these opposition supporters serious. You just wake up and make baseless accusations without facts, just because you don't like the person. For your information, I don't dwell on rumour but facts. Wike on his side has done very well while serving as minister of state for Education, by spear heading the face lifting of the unity schools across the nation, as well as establishment of the Amajiri schools in many northern states. He equally deserves supports from well meaning Rivers state residents.

I pray Dakuku wins so that the famous Opobo will be linked by bridge. I was told he built the bridge up to a certain portion when he was minister for works. That LGA/Island supposed to be a tourist destination. King Jaja of Opobo comes to mind.
Lie! There's no bridge built by Peterside as former commissioner of works linking Opobo. I've been to Opobo, even their family house is just facing the water-front. The only place that's close to Opoba town is Ikot Abasi, the host community of Aluminium smelting Company (ALSCON), which is just directly facing the Opobo town. Access to Opobo town at the moment is through speed boat through a jetty at one Ogoni town (forgotten the name).

Dakuku Peterside actually did a good job during Amaechi firt term in Office, as he was very proactive in supervising many road projects going on then in Rivers State. I wish him all the best in his duel with Nyesom Wike for Rivers State governorship position. It's indeed going to be an herculean task for Perterside.
