am not even among people who erroneously blame an officer. south Africa budget $3bn for police, NYPD a state police budgets $500m, the whole of Nigerian police budget is less than $50million with perssonel of over 350k officers. we rather budget $2bn on military and forget internal security is more important, this trend of under funding police started after shagari coup, by military, in an attempt to weaking police
Can u imagine? The police is more important to Nigeria than the military...becus most of our security challenges are internal based.

It is a pity that an average police officer cant build a house if he is to live with his salary for 35 years...

It is also a pity that most of them die in duty and their families forgotten..

if we like, we should end sars, end this, end that, if we dont learn how to pressure govt to treat the men with guns right, they will always descend on us..

major reason for this is, that a regular Cop in US on beat and patrol carries mostly a teaser, a pepper spray, a Barton and at most a semi-auto handgun, in case he encounters a stubborn suspect, he has so many alternative to take him down and sub due him. As for Nigerian police they all carry ak47 with 30 rounds in a magazine, when encountered by a stubborn suspect all they have is an assault riffle.
we are just unfair to these guys sometimes..

Pls, an average cop in the USA can afford a decent life.. but is that the same here?

Cops in the usa are well protected, good protective gears, insurance, well paid, so, as we compare to these guys in developed worlds, we should also protest for their well being..

if they arent well taken care of, they know their job can take their lives anytime, they will not change o. They will always find a way to do bad things just like other nigerians do.

Simple. Those who protested and campaigned for end sars should also be fair enough to campaign for these guys to be well taken care of like their counterparts in the US.
