Nigeria Jaga Jaga Everything scatter scatter .... Years after Eedris Abdulkareem released the controversial hit track describing the situation of things in the country, little or nothing seems to have changed. We always have a weird way of doing just everything. Few days ago, i saw a screaming headline -as they call it- on almost every NEWS Platform. It read; There Are Plans To Assassinate President Buhari – Fr. Mbaka Very few people are seeing what is wrong with this. But i think a lot of things is wrong with the story. Now, if you already want to hang me, calm down abeg. I believe in prophecies. but i am not comfortable with the way the messages are passed. I/We don't doubt Prophecies, even though we know some so called 'men of God' are milking unsuspecting members of the public with it and bringing shame to the gospel. But the way in which Nigeria men of God share their Prophecies or messages is so wrong, and in a way patronizing. And sometimes, it could be inciting. The claims by Fr Mbaka that there are plans to assassinate President Mohammadu Buhari is shocking. Why i can not doubt his prophecies (im not God) we should not forget that Muhammadu Buhari is not just an ordinary person, he is a president of a Country for God sake. Especially in a country struggling with religious and tribal issues. Fr Mbaka is a very important persona especially after the part he played during the last election. So he should know better. What if God forbid, something happens to President Buhari? What if it was natural and something else? But Fr Mbaka said it was planned, so what happens next? Keep guessing. Controversial messages or prophecies in Nigeria has become a norms in the country. Few days back, it was alleged that Pastor Adeboye prophesied during his new year service that there would be a new sexually transmitted disease this year. The founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Sulieman was not left out. he too was alleged to have said a lot about the nation in 2016. But what is striking amongs all of them is the part where he said a serving governor may die this year. There are other prophesies for our beloved Nigeria from different religious leaders, i just listed the trending ones, every 'Man of God wants to be heard. So like every musical artist waiting for January to drop a hit track, it is now becoming a tradition for Religious leaders to make prophecies especially at the beginning of the year or during elections. Years back, persons claiming to be prophets had predicted the death of former President Olusegun Obasanjo before the end of his stay in office. Well you know the end of the story. Sometimes you wonder if Prophecies are meant to put fear in the minds of the people. I would say no more but conclude this way Fr Mbaka's message....... I believe there are better channels of passing such messages which are sensitive or are capable of inciting violence. Though i never attended the program where he said it, but he has not come out to deny saying it. There are security agencies that are saddled with the responsibility of protecting the President and his family, such threat to the office of the president should be reported to them. And religious leaders should quickly come out to dissociate themselves from fake stories always flying around concerning sensitive issues. Especially those attributed to them We pray Nigeria would be great in 2016. Have a Blessed Sunday. http://www.sincerenigerian.com/2016/01/prophecy-or-doom.html?m=1

After all the controversy, Lil kesh has gone on twitter to congratulated Reekardo Banks on winning the Next Rated Act Category at the Headies Award held last night. see more: at www.sincerenigerian.com

In October, Davido had already declared Lil Kesh the winner, saying if they didn’t give him the next rated award, he should pull a Kanye on them.. Looks like Olamide listened to his friend’s See tweets below

So many things were not going right for The Headies yesterday, apart from the fact that the award show was poorly attended, It started late and at some point, it was looking like a vigil. Boring until the Olamide and Don J saga which by the way is so not mature from both of them. My Question is, was it right to award Reekardo Banks with the Next Rated Act Award? My Opinion: I think Lil kesh, Korede Bello, Kiss Daniel, Cynthia Morgan should be rated ahead of Reekardo.. No disrespect to him though. LIL KESH had back to back hit songs this year. From Shoki, gbesere, Is it because I love you, lyrically, Efejoku KISS DANIEL'S 'WOJU' was next to Nigeria's anthem at a time, and Laye did good too. KOREDE BELLO'S 'GODWIN' alone in my opinion is the song of the year. it is a song for both the young and old, a club and Church song at the same time. CYNTHIA MORGAN'S 'German Juice and I'm taken' were big hits in 2015. Rekardo did good? but was he having a Number One song in 2015? NO. His major success were the songs done in collaboration with other Marvin Acts. Except the Headies used other criteria to chose the award. Those four for me should be rated ahead of Reekardo Banks. Anyway, this is my opinion. What is yours? http://www.sincerenigerian.com/2016/01/is-reekardo-banks-deserving-of-headies.html?m=1

There is a difference between friends and acquaintance. Most times we mistake both. Some people just want to be part of your inner cycle because things are rosy. Well, here is my list of 7 kinds of people you should avoid if you want to have a good year. 1. People who don't respect you A person who does not see your worth is no friend. In this New Year, Stop hanging out with people who always make you feel bad about yourself, or make you loose your self esteem. Have respect for yourself by doing away with them. 2. Greedy People These set of people can turn you to a charity organisation without you knowing. For example, Imagine paying the T-fare everytime you guys board a cab together. Or always footing the bills anytime you guys go out to have a good time together. These toxic individuals would use you and leave you worse off, sucking you dry and feeding off you like a parasite. Flee from them. 3. Discouragers Run away from this set of persons. Everything is always impossible and difficult to them. They could ridicule you to the point that you start finding your goals funny and unattainable. This persons are contented with being just comfortable. Don't let them contaminate your ideas and thoughts. Avoid them. 4. Hypocrites Do you remember that friend who always gossip about other people? They always have the latest and enough unpleasant things to say about others and they are always right. Ever wondered what they also say about you to others? Pull away from them. 5. People who draw you back These set of persons sometimes can be your best friends or very close pals. They are the reasons why you go back to bad your habits. You could be trying to stop cheating or smoking, or other harmful addiction, and they always have a way of getting you back to that kind of life. Avoid them. 6. People you can't trust A friend should have your back even in your absence. And should be ready to stick out his/her neck for you. What is the need of having a friend who can't do this for you? You should also know what your friends are capable of. Stay away from people you can trust. 7. Friends that want free jobs from you I call them the "Ojo free" friends. 'My guy my guy' would never get us far. It is better to have people who value your job than friends who wants everything free. This same people would never treat their business the same way. Avoid them Source: http://www.sincerenigerian.com/2016/01/7-kinds-of-people-to-avoid-this-year.html?m=1 What other people do you think we should avoid?

Merry Christmas Nairalanders... How has your preparation been? It is few days to Christmas but I still can not feel it. All i feel is this unfriendly harmattan following me around.. But what is wrong with Christmas of nowadays? What has changed? Someone said we have outgrown Christmas, have we? I can't remember making that decision. I was listening to a radio program recently. The presenter asked the listeners to call in and share what Christmas meant to them. Most people that called in said it reminded them of the birth of Jesus. Typical answer, of course that is a major thing but is that it? When I was a kid, Christmas used to be a lot of things. It was something we always look forward to after our first term Exams. And in the family, your result had to be good for you to enjoy Christmas. It also meant having a life chicken in the house. Lol yea, we were always excited about that as kids. The chickens we had on eveey other day were mainly frozen. SO, that of Christmas was special. It was wonderful learning from papa, how to kill and slaughter a chicken. Also the fun of being with mama in the kitchen, while she fries it. Christmas as a kid used to mean new clothes, and lots of them. There was a difference between clothes bought for Christmas and those you get on a normal day. In fact, we usually press daddy to wait until 20th December before taking us to get our clothes... There is this scent of newness and the feeling of excitement, that comes with it. And anyone that sees you wear them on the 25th would know it was a Christmas dress. Though we never did the "Christmas waka waka" thing like most children did. But, the best we did was to spend the day having fun with our relatives. On Christmas day, we would watch different films about christmas from dawn till dusk. Our favourite was the 'Passion of Christ's' movie. And we never got tired of listening to carol songs on the radio. But nowadays, I noticed that radio stations hardly play carol songs even two weeks to Christmas. I remember how my siblings and I would disturb the street with fireworks. The people who knew our parents, would always report us to them, some would threaten to arrest us. But, it never deterred us, we later realised they were never serious, but just scared. I still have lots of beautiful memories of Christmas as a kid. Back to the present. What are we missing today, and how did some of us out grow Christmas? I know some of the things I mentioned are for kids and you can't expect adults to do those stuffs. But adults have ways of having fun right?. So, I decided to put myself in the spirit of Christmas by doing what adults do.. I attended a carol service last Sunday. Arrrgh. It was something else, the M.C did his best to make it lively, but his jokes were more than the nine lessons. "There is no money in circulation, that is why this Christmas is hard nowadays" That statement is now a cliche. We have been hearing this since God knows when and we still enjoyed Christmas then. So what happened to Christmas, did we really out grow it? Where has the magic gone? Is it as exciting for the kids today as it used to be for us then? And can adult too have such good fun? Do you agree that Christmas isn’t the same as it used to be? Step forward and share your thoughts with me http://www.sincerenigerian.com/2015/12/christmas-has-lost-most-of-its-magic.html?m=1
