PoliticsCrude Oil Report For 2017 – Over 692m Barrels Produced. by SnooWiz(op): 12:50pm On Aug 23, 2019
Xtrablack.Com

The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) says that 692 million barrels of crude oil were produced in the country in 2017.

Oil prices fall on weak economic data from Europe and China NEITI disclosed this in its report, entitled, “pilot study on commodity trading for 2017” and released in Abuja.

692million barrels. Out of this volume, the share that went to the federation was 240.9 million barrels representing 35 per cent of the total crude oil production for the year 2017. “A trend analysis for the year under review shows that the 2017 federation share was four per cent higher than the 231.6 million barrels in the same category for 2016 but was 19 per cent lower than the 297.8 million barrels for 2015.’’

According to the report, it shows a slight improvement in the figure for 2016, a year characterised by vandalism and sabotage of oil facilities. It noted that crude production for 2017 was about a fifth less than the 2015 level. The report further showed that out of 240.9 million barrels federation share for 2017, Domestic Crude Allocation (DCA) had 105. 9 million barrels or 44 per cent while FIRS Liftings got 57.3 million barrels or 24 per cent of the share. NAN reported that the Federation Export got 50. 2 million barrels or 21 per cent of the federation share. Third-Party financing, 17.6 million or 7 per cent of federation share and DPR liftings were 9.9 million barrels or four per cent of the federation share.
On the 105.9 million barrels DCA crude assigned for local supply of refined products, Direct Sale Direct Purchase (DSDP) got 72. 8 million barrels or 69 per cent. Refineries got 26. 5 million barrels or 25 per cent, Product Exchange received 4.7 million barrels or four per cent while Export (unutilised portion of DCA) got 1.9 million barrels or two per cent, the report said. “The total revenue from sale of federation share of oil and gas for 2017 was 14.5 billion dollars—13.18 billion dollars or 90.8 per cent from crude oil and 1.32 billion dollars or 9.1 per cent from gas. “NNPC deducted N297 billion from earnings from the Domestic Crude Allocation as costs and losses,’’ it added. A breakdown of the deduction indicated that N141.6 billion was for under-recovery on petroleum products, N25 billion for crude and product losses and N130.4 billion for pipeline repairs and maintenance.

“The Sum of N77.92 billion was under-remitted by NNPC to the Federation Account from Domestic Crude Allocation in 2017. “NNPC acknowledges the under-remittance and states that there is an on-going reconciliation to net off the N77.92 billion from the established Federation indebtedness to the Corporation of N797bn arising from KPMG Forensic audit of the Corporation at the instance of the Federation,” it noted On crude destination in 2017, the reports showed that the federation crude went to 29 destinations.
It noted that the top-five destinations were India with 41.3 million barrels (17.12 per cent}, the U.S., 30.6 million (12.72 per cent), local refineries, 26.5 million barrels (10.98 per cent), Netherlands, 22.9 million barrels (9.5 per cent) and Spain, 21 million barrels (8.83 per cent). It added that 60 individuals and consortiums were buyers of federation’s crude in 2017 with the top five buyers as Duke Oil Company, the trading arm of NNPC, which lifted 29.3 million barrels (12.16 per cent}. TOTSA/Total oil Trading, lifted 18.4m barrels (7.67 per cent), Port Harcourt Refinery lifted 18 million barrels (7.49 per cent), SIR/Sahara Energy Resources lifted 15.2 million barrels (6.32 per cent) while LITASCO SA/MRS Oil and Gas lifted 10.5 million barrels (4.38 per cent). NEITI said the report did not cover other revenue streams from the sector, such as Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), royalties, signature bonuses, dividends, penalties and fees, statutory payments, among others.

Commenting on the report, NEITI Executive Secretary Waziri Ado, said other details on production and processes would be in the 2017 NEITI oil and gas industry report to be released soon.

He said that the pilot study which was conducted by BDO, an international auditing and advisory firm, covered four government agencies and 73 companies. “ The 73 companies were six bilateral companies, 13 international trading companies, four trading arms of international oil companies, 25 Nigerian trading companies, two NNPC trading companies, nine refineries, and 14 DSDP contractors,’ he said.

SportsNigeria’s D’tigress Win Fourth Afrobasket Title Beating Senegal by SnooWiz(op): 5:55am On Aug 19, 2019
Xtrablack.Com

The Nigeria women national basketball team, D’Tigress on Sunday defeated hosts Senegal in the final of the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket to win their fourth continental title.

D’Tigress

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that victory for D’tigress meant that they also successfully defend the title they won two years ago after defeating Senegal 65-48 in Bamako in 2017.

In a keenly-contested final match played on Sunday at the magnificent Dakar Arena which had as much as 15, 000 fans watching, the Nigeria women beat host Senegal 60-55 to win back-to-back continental titles.

As in previous Senegal games over the past few days, there was a deafening atmosphere at Dakar Arena but D’Tigress held their own.

NAN also reports that with Sunday’s feat, D’Tigress became the first team to win back-to-back FIBA Women’s AfroBasket titles since Angola followed up their 2011 triumph with another in 2013. To make it to the final, Nigeria eased past Mali, 79-58, in Friday’s first semifinal.

Hosts Senegal needed to work extra hard to overcome a fearless and determined Mozambique team, 60-57, to return to the championship title game for the third time in a row.
Both Nigeria and Senegal have emerged as the best teams from the 12-team tournament and it came as no surprise that each reached the final after four wins in as many games.

After losing to Nigeria two years ago – not once but twice in Bamako – 12-time African champions Senegal were hoping to become the first team to win the tournament at home since the D’Tigress claimed the 2005 continental in Abuja.

With D’Tigress successfully completing their mission, attention will now shift to the male team, D’Tigers who are expected to compete at the FIBA World Cup in China later this month. The FIBA World is scheduled to hold from Aug. 31 to Sept. 15. (NAN)

Klint Da Drunk narrates how he narrowly escaped death along Bauchi-Jos express road.

Comedian, Klint Da Drunk is presently thanking his lucky stars after surviving a car accident in the Northern part of Nigeria.

The comedian shared on his Instagram page on Friday, August 16, 2019 details of what really transpired. According to him, he chartered a Golf car to get to location in the Northern part of the country. Things took a different turn when it started raining and the road became slippery and a truck ran into his car.
”Please, help me in praising God Almighty for delivering us from the Jaws of death.
Along Bauchi-Jos express road, we were involved in a terrible car crash. We boarded a golf 2 on charter as it was the only means to move. The driver was careful enough so I had no issues with him but then, out of the blues, a truck jumped right in front of us. The road was wet as it had been drizzling.

“The driver tried all he could to stop the car but the slippery road just made it look like he did nothing all I was shouting was “JESUS! JESUS!! JESUS!!!” and with a speed of about 100km/H or thereabout, we rammed right into the back of this truck.
God is so merciful and wonderful, we got off with very minor injuries. How the tail of the truck was stopped from causing major damage on us is just God’s doing. God, I thank you for life, I thank You for Your Mercies, I thank You for Your Grace and for your love on sinners like us.
May your name be glorified forever in Jesus Mighty Name!!! Amen!!! #mylordliveth #klintdadrunk #thankyoulord,” he said.

CelebritiesWizkid 'starboy' Deleted All His Instagram Post : See Reasons by SnooWiz(op): 6:29am On Aug 16, 2019
https://www.xtrablack.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/wizkid-blast-his-former-associate-oburota-after-helping-him-make-history-at-the-02arena-in-london-1.jpg

Wizkid maybe shocked a bigger share of his fanbase yesterday when he pulled down all of the posts from his Instagram page.

Tiwa Savage had done the same earlier this year just before she signed to Universal Music.

But what could have warranted the Starboy to have followed in the same path?

Here are three possible reasons,

1. Made In Lagos Album Might Be Launched Soon
We’ve all have been anticipating Made In Lagos album for a year now. We all learnt of the title of the album when he dropped Soco in the early months of 2018.

He had promised, it will drop last year but this year, speculations are rife it might drop anytime from now.

In readiness to perhaps, the biggest album we might hear this year, that could be why Wizkid deleted all his posts.

2. His Sony Contract Has Been Terminated
Few Wizkid enthusiasts have ascribed the reasons for this. You’ll wonder why this has a correlation. The Starboy is one of the few Nigerian artistes who have an international record deal.

However, this international record deal has also been a problem in recent years. It’s perhaps the reason why Wizkid has not had any official release so far this year.

The record label has to vet and approve his output. Remember Davido had several issues with Sony in 2016 before renegotiating in 2017.

WizKid could have decided to have a clear out in anticipation for a fresh start. Either the Sony contract has been renegotiated or may be terminated.

3. A Fresh Start Or Maybe A Big Deal For The Starboy
Remember Tiwa Savage had a similar clear out earlier this year before she announces her signing to Universal Music Group claiming she wanted to start things afresh.

Who knows, a big deal might be in for the Starboy or also, the Starboy wants to start things all over again.

LAGOS—DRUG peddlers and addicts have taken over the popular Allen Avenue and Alade Estate in Ikeja Local Government area of Lagos State and turned the entire axis into their full time joint.

https://www.xtrablack.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/drug2.jpg

A drug addict

Xtrablack gathered that the once serene and exclusive neighbourhoods of Alade and Allen Avenue have become a haven where vices are carried out especially at night.

It was learned that some property owners have been forced to relocate after it became apparent that the security level within the axis has continued to deteriorate. As a result, the residents, who do not have alternative accommodation, are said to be presently living in fear over the worsened level of insecurity within the axis which has now become a hideout for criminals.

The concerned residents lamented that daily, strange faces were often noticed within the axis with no previous link to the estate.
According to them, streets linking the estates, including Adegbeyemi, Afolabi Aina and Olorunnishola, have been taken over by street traders whose shanties have become hideouts for the alleged criminals.

Aside from the shanties becoming home to the hoodlums and drug addicts, the structures, residents lament has disfigured the beautiful and serene environment the residential area was previously known for.

Residents petition Sanwo-Olu

Worried by the continued invasion, the residents have petitioned Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu appealing that the drug peddlers and addicts be dislodged.

CrimeOver 6,000 Nigerians Underneath Crime Investigation In South Africa Envoy by SnooWiz(op): 7:19am On Aug 15, 2019
Nigeria’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Ambassador Kabir Bala, said, yesterday, that over 6,000 Nigerians were being investigated for various crimes in the country.

Youths protesting xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa,

Bala, who disclosed this while speaking to Channels Television in his office, explained that the crimes range from drug-related offences to murder, fraud and armed robbery. Noting that the statistics were from the South African Police Service, the envoy said: “We have to look at it from a proper perspective so that we don’t tilt the balance. And then we overlook the fact that some of our nationals engage in things that are not legal here. “We have 6,089 of them having cases that are being concluded or investigated and some of them in prison, we have them.” The diplomat, however, explained that the accused persons, whether Nigerians or other nationals, have the right to fair trial before being convicted, if found guilt in line with the laws. His remark followed a meeting of the heads of Nigeria’s two missions in South Africa in Pretoria, on the country’s crime statistics as it is related to Nigerian citizens. Present were the Police Minister Bheki Cele and top police officials. Bala, who was accompanied by the Consul-General, Godwin Adama, to the meeting, said the figures were quite shocking.

XTRABLACK.Com

The official Twitter page of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo appeared to have disappeared with its over two million followers on Friday.

Mr Osinbajo has used his “@ProfOsinbajo” screename on the micro-blogging platform to publicise his activities since he was named as the running mate to then-candidate Muhammadu Buhari in late 2014.

He carried on with the handle following his successful campaign with Mr Buhari in the March 2015 presidential election — using it to propagate his administration policies and critical milestones in his marriage to Dolapo.

The account has amassed at least 2.1 million followers as of earlier this week, which made its disappearance easily noticeable amongst a multitude of other newsmakers on Twitter.

As of Saturday morning, “@ProfOsinbajo” could no longer be reached on Twitter. Its history of 2,399 tweets and 488 likes had also become inaccessible on Twitter.

An archive of the handle showed the last activity (a retweet) on it was on August 3.

Mr Osinbajo last tweeted himself on July 28, when he condoled with the families of slain journalist Precious Owolabi following a visit to his family.

RomanceHaving A Child For Him Doesn’t Make You His Wife! (true Talk) Fact Must Read! by SnooWiz(op): 8:14am On Aug 10, 2019
By Bunmi Sofola

A couple of months back, I hunted down a friend’s wife at his request. She’d relocated to Britain some six years ago with all the three children of the ‘marriage.’ Tade, my friend, still lives with his legal wife and her only child.

Love found Kike, the supposed second wife easily because Tade gave me her address and her phone number, and because we’d met socially a couple of times before she left the country, she readily agreed to see me. “I have nothing against Tade,” she assured me when I asked why she abandoned him. “In fact, I wished him and his wife the best of luck. But I have a life too, so do my children. I can’t live down a situation where my growing kids continued to ask why their daddy did not live with them and, why they couldn’t go to him. Kids are smart.

You start them on a lie and you’re going to need plenty to keep that lie. I am a trained nurse and luckily, I trained here in Britain. So, when a friend called that a family was looking for a live-in nurse for their disabled father, I went to find out what it was all about. The location was a quiet town outside London and the house was cosy; the man’s wife had died and the children were so busy they couldn’t look after him as they’d all left home. Currently, someone came in everyday to look after him but, they wanted round-the-clock caring. “When they mentioned the salary and the fact that it was full board, I accepted the job immediately. I was a nurse in a private hospital in Lagos but, the salary was nothing compared with what I would be earning as a private nurse. When I came back to Nigeria to take the things I would need, I had already decided to take my kids with me. Tade wasn’t that much of a provider on top of which my so-called traditional marriage was a sham. This was the time for some personal home-truths. I’d been traditionally ‘married’ to him for all of ten years but if the wife knew anything about it, she was not letting on. Whenever I insisted that all the children should know each other at least, Tade would balk at the idea. She’s apparently seen him through college when they were abroad and I guess he would be forever grateful to her. But that doesn’t mean I should wag my tail and lick her fingers like a dog. I owed her nothing. “I didn’t even let him know we were leaving. As soon as my children’s tourist visas were okay, we all left.

At first, they stayed in London with my sister but when I had the courage to tell my patient’s children about them, they agreed that my children could live with me. In the meantime, I stepped up efforts to get a council flat. When I was eventually allocated one about two years ago, I moved my family in. My eldest child is now over 16 and quite domesticated. She looks after the flat when the kids come back from school and I thank my God that my children are doing fine in an atmosphere they don’t find emotionally sapping. “I don’t know what your friend wants by asking you to talk to me. He has a wife he is still legally married to. Even if I’d seven children against the legal wife’s one child, I am still his other woman. A bit on the side. I no longer fool myself that I’m any sort of legal wife and I’ve put that experience behind me. Tell me, if he died tomorrow, what would be my role in his interment? I would probably be lurking round the church with my children, huddled in a corner. “Look around you and see if I should swop all this for a hole-in-the-corner existence with him? I am happy, my children are healthy and in good schools; and I’m not exactly celibate. He is being selfish, I’ve never denied him the right to see his children. The last time he was here, he spent snatched moments with them because he came with his wife….” As one legal expert succinctly puts it: “There is no such thing as a common-law marriage, no matter how long or openly you live with someone, if you do not get legally married, the law will almost never treat you as if you are, no matter the number of children you have between you. So, if it is a choice between marrying someone or living with him, marriage wins when it comes to financial security, especially, for women. The Nigerian marital law, as anti-wife as it is, is very clear on this.

A man is to carry on as he means to live the rest of his married life. Statutory marriage means you’re stuck with only one wife. But if you want to lead the life of a serial monogamist, you kick out the wife, again legally, then take another…and another…if on the other hand you’re the adventurous type wanting as many women under your roof as say four, then you resort to the customary law which makes such marriages legal! Worse still, if you’ve lived with a man all your life, but you’re never married to him, even when he’s not married to anyone else and he dies, you’re his common-law-wife. If he dies intestate, the ‘wife’ inherits nothing no matter how much she’s contributed over the years; only her children do. Luckily, not all common-law wives are as starry-eyed as they once were when it comes to property sharing. After seeing what had happened to widowed parents and relatives, a lot of them are acquiring properties in their own names. When early last year, Mike’s so-called in-laws invited her to a family meeting, they tongue-lashed her for not being accommodating enough of her husband’s other wife. If she wasn’t prepared to be more tolerant, they gave her a deadline within which to leave the matrimonial home. “As soon as they left,” said Nike, I went on my knees and sang songs of praise to God! This was a man I’d practically been propping up financially ever since we got ‘married’ because after being childless in my first marriage, I was able to have two children by him. He wanted more children after we’d been together for about 11 years so he brought in this shrew who was so uncouth I could barely tolerate her! Inside five years, she’d had four children and we all lived in a two-bedroom flat! Hygiene and good house-keeping were obviously not her good points. Since both of us were not legally married to him, I didn’t feel obligated to stay. I had already gotten a flat ready to move out when he fell ill. I was very bitter. If I left now, I would be accused of leaving him when he could no longer provide for his family. Who would I tell that even all the petty contracts he did was the ones I helped him get from a few of my friends in positions of power? So when the jokers came to supposedly give me a piece of their minds about shaping up or shipping out of the so-called marriage, I looked really downcast as I thanked them and promised to change. Our so-called husband couldn’t meet my eyes because he knew he was the one who gave his relatives the wrong impression about his financial responsibilities. After his relatives left, he told me to ignore them, that they were being mischievous. I said nothing. A couple of months later, as soon as he left the house, I hired a huge lorry and took everything I’d bought for the house—including the double-bed on which we both slept and the fridge/freezer. The flat really looked desolate after I’d removed my things and I felt almost sorry for him.” If you’re currently enjoying a relationship, don’t be blinded to the legal implications of a union without that ‘simple piece of paper.’ Without it, you have no legal leg to stand on when your partner throws you out, or suddenly dies. And the same goes for the man too! If your common-law-wife owns the house you currently live in, she can throw you out anytime she wants and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it! Are you in sync with your man? Low libidos aside, if your man has what’s technically considered healthy sex drive but your drive is just greater, it can still be a problem in your relationship. Not only are your sexual needs not being met, but you may also start to feel rejected or unattractive if he isn’t responding to your erotic advances. Although it may be tough to raise his libido to your level, you can at least try to milk his existing appetite for all it’s worth. First, initiate erotic activity between 6 and 11 in the morning, when men’s testosterone levels are generally at their highest, allowing a man to become more easily aroused. On nights when you’ve just got to have it but he seems lukewarm, offer to take the reins and do all the work. By alleviating any pressure to perform, says an expert, you may make sex seem more appealing to him.

And good experiences are motivation for him to keep at it. Lastly, realize that a dip in sexual frequency is a common side effect to dating long-term (familiarity breeds complacency). If you connect on other important levels, the slack sessions themselves are fulfilling, and you keep communicating about your amorous desires chances are, you can find a mutual satisfying middle ground.
