This person is responsible for all the confusion caused by the misleading rumours shared on WhatsApp in Nigeria. Now WhatsApp is spending to educate people on unfounded rumours.

I am often shocked how some so-called graduates wallow in rumour-mongering and some of these people have access to blogs with which they also defraud unsuspecting, gullible Nigerians. How can you try to discredit a whole process and an institution that would not want to dent its reputation and drag its integrity in the mud just by spreading rumors?

I am not here to say any institution in NIGERIA is 100% merit-administered. But you're not making things better either with your attitude to information gathering and sharing. Repent before it's too late.

they are planning to invite everyone who scored 40 and above for interview because the test does not reflect knowledge in individual discipline , but the problem they are having is some of their anointed candidates scored below 40.

Nothing here. Hopefully next week the further notice will become definite. The positive side I see in all of this, is that it gives me time to prepare.

On a lighter note, I would have gone with a formatted head. And maybe a good number of the interviewers had something to do with RCCG camp programme or Unilag convocation. (This is just my mind roaming. Don't take it as information).

But is it possible for applicants who were sent invitation message for interviews not to be invited again per adventure a new date is communicated as earlier said via the postponement message and by that means, replacing them with some others who didn't get the initial message?
You know, anything is possible in the country.

Hopefully it's all for the better. I don't patronize rumour so I can't say really. I depend solely on the information from the institution. What if some who were not qualified got it and those that were qualified were omitted and they chose to undo it? let's be optimistic.

I think nobody's sure of anything cos the general performance of your dept/unit would determine the cutoff. Except you are lucky to meet one or two persons you never know what others scored.

That's not true. Like I said earlier they were also on strike and affected by the elections. I sensed they also had to address Registrar's position first.

I think they were inviting people in batches, not at once. During the test invite period too some people were contacted before others. I believe they're trying to deal with the large numbers

Just got the postponement text now. Till further notice! According to the message, it was supposed to be held from 2nd to 5th of April.

I realized that they published yet another vacancies, including the position of Registrar, which means they're still busy with internal affairs. I mean possibly they are unsatisfied with the previous work done by the person in that position or they were not satisfied by the performance of those that initially applied. And until that is solved ours might continue to be delayed.

Even if they already had in possession their candidates to be fixed...

Why then would you go through the stress of applying and doing the test? True, it sometimes happens that some candidates are favoured. But that doesn't mean institutions underestimate the importance of merit. Each of them aspires to be the best. And that can only happen when they consider having the best of everything, including manpower. Give your best till the end, it still works. Funny enough except you believe, it won't work: you won't give your best. Then you'll justify your opinion, after all you're right.

What makes the source reliable? This information is a suspect cos commonsense shows there cannot be a flat, uniform cutoff for all the positions. Some got fewer applications while others got many more. Also the performance of each group will differ. So, it is more sensible to derive the cutoff from the number of applicants for each position and their performances
