Sports / Hamstring Injuries/Strain And How A Player Can Avoid It by SoccerNova: 11:30pm On Jun 17, 2016
A player experiencing hamstring strain, would feel these symptoms: a sudden sharp pain behind the leg, muscle contraction, swelling and bruises occurs, muscle tear also occurs in extreme cases.
A player sustains hamstring injury when making quick and sharp movements, like running, jumping and stretching, his or her leg to reach the ball, this causes the muscle fibres that makes up the hamstring, to over expand, thereby leading to internal bleeding, swelling and bruising.

How A Player Can Prevent Hamstring injury Occurring
For a player to avoid having hamstring injury, the player should adopt, routine warm up exercises, such as kicks, squats and lunges, during football training sessions and just few hours before commencing any football match.
Sports / Through Ball/Pass An Important Tool For Beating Offside Trap by SoccerNova: 11:05pm On Jun 17, 2016
What is a through ball or through pass?

Simply put, a through ball/pass is a pass made by a player into space, not directly to a teammate, the pass is typically made through a gap or space between defenders, to an attacker/striker making a run in space.
A through ball or through pass is highly effective for beating offside traps, because as all defenders are standing on the same line to catch an attacker in an offside position, they unknowingly create gaps and loopholes behind the back line, no depth and cohesion in the defence, the striker/attacker making a timed run towards the through pass/ball has more speed necessary to beat the defender to the ball.

@jafree you should not be anxious number 1 it's just a game, and number 2 no one is that perfect, don't just be in a hurry that's all
Sports / How To Take A Perfect Free-kick by SoccerNova: 1:47am On Jun 17, 2016
1) Decide On Where You Want To Strike The Ball
Before a player takes a free-kick, the player should first choose where he or she wants to hit the ball. Do not be in a hurry to determine the positioning of the free-kick, the wall arrangement/formation as well as the positioning of the goal keeper. The player should ask himself a question " do I have any prior knowledge of where the goal keeper is standing?", this question would assist the player in making the best decision and judgement, then the player should focus on hitting the target regardless of the situation.

2) Ascertain Your Run-Up
If a player is taking a free kick a long way out from the goal post, the player should stand at most five meters off the ball, then the player should make a run of at least three to four steps towards the ball in order to gain and gather speed, momentum and power for the shot. If the free-kick to be taken is closer to the goal post, the player should take one long step, with the player's standing foot closer to the ball. The closer the player's standing foot is to the ball, the better the accuracy of the shot.

3) Be Focused
For a player to strike a perfect free-kick, the player should have full concentration, a player has to be focused, to hit the target. The player should ignore all forms of distractions, fear and anxiety, the player should be focused on what to do. Even after rigorous training most players hardly remain focused at the end of the day.

4) Aim For The Ball To Swerve
Every player's objective to taking a good free-kick should be to aim for the ball to swerve, this could be achieved by the player making a straight run-up, towards the ball, and striking the ball, the inside of the foot, just like making a pass but this time applying more pressure to the ball, the player should try as much as possible to hit the centre of the ball, making a connection with the bottom of the ball and driving up through the ball, this would cause the ball to dip, thereby confusing the goal keeper.

How A Player Can Make An Accurate Short Pass

The best way for a player to make an accurate pass with great precision is for the player to make use of the inside of his or her foot when hitting the ball, this gives more control and increases the chances of the ball getting to your fellow teammates. The player should turn the foot he or she is going to use to make the pass outwards and lock the ankle so that it makes a strong contact with the ball. The player should bend the knee of the passing leg slightly, so that the foot is in the correct position to pass the ball with the player's standing foot about few meters (just a hip width) away from the ball, bring your kicking foot through and hit the centre of the ball with the inside of your foot. The main objective of a short pass is mostly to keep the ball low, therefore making it easy for other playing team mates to control. For high power, follow through with the kicking leg, this would increase, the precision of the pass, the player should bring out hus or her arm out from the body while doing this, in order to improve balance and stamina.

How A Player Can Make An Accurate Long Pass

The sole objective of a long pass is to switch play or locate another teammate afar.
Most long passes are generally more attacking or less defensive than a short pass, but it all depends on a player's location on the field of play.
If a player wants to make a long pass, the player should head towards the ball at a slanting angle of 25 degrees in order to allow for more space and room to swing your kicking foot through. The player should use his or her arms for balance, positioning his/her non-kicking leg closer to the side of the ball, not taking your eyes off the ball. If a player wants to keep the ball low, the player should position the knee of the striking foot over the ball, and do not lean back as you strike the middle of the ball with your laces, follow through.
For a player to achieve increased power and height on the ball, the player should strike the ball close to the bottom, leaning back further and follow through the ball more. Basically you do not want the ball to bounce before it gets to your teammate, as a ball that bounces before getting to another player is difficult to control.
