First half was our poorest performance under Lampard on par with Sheffield Utd last year

The Arsenal we expected is not what we saw as they got rid of the static Willian for the fast and furious pressing of Smith-Rowe and Martinelli. They also released Tierney from the back 3 to add another attacking option. I think the team were taken aback by this, having banked an easy game in their minds.

That said, we were unlucky to concede foolishly from set-pieces from individual mistakes from two of our usually reliable players (James and Kante) and once that happens, you have to chase the game, leaving yourself open to counterattacks. Arsenal also expended a full season of luck on us with the fluke from Saka.

A poor result, but I'm not reading too much into it.

At start of season, I said Chelsea do not have a satisfactory striker and must go for Cavani but was told we already have 3, all of whom have glaring deficiencies in one aspect or the other.

Anyway, these sort of results happen. Let's keep the faith for now. The top of the table is cramped and one win or lose can take you anywhere from 2nd to 8th.

First, a questionable penalty put them ahead, then a free kick and a goal from saka that he himself didn't expect or dream of.

And it seems everytime our players jump to have a perfect tackle, the ball goes back to arsenal players.

Jjorhinho losing penalty that could have put us back in the game and at least rescue a point.


I don't know what you guys expect lampard to do in the game that he didn't do. He substituted two players that were having stinker earlier and he only has 3 subs to work with.


I get managers get all the blames and the praises. But sometimes, luck don't just be on your side.. and I think today is one of those days.

Emile Smith and Martinelli plus change to 4-3-3 was unexpected. This is a different Arsenal team but also lucky with 2 set-pieces and one fluke

He has 3 subs he can try in this match - Giroud, CHO and Havertz. Wasting one on Jorginho is a foolish move

Martinelli, only if most players in the squad showed his aggression. His pressing reminds me of the great barcelona team of old with xavi iniesta merci and can't remember the other guys name that went to chelsea. It's like having a trailer run at you. I just pray he does not burn out or cop another injury.
