Good morning, I need information on how to get Tourist Visa to any of the following countries
Venezuela, Guyana, Argentina, El Salvador, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, Chile and cost if there's anyone who can assist in the process...
Good morning! Planning a trip to countries like Venezuela, Guyana, Argentina, El Salvador, Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Chile is exciting. Here's a general guide to help you navigate the tourist visa application process for these destinations:

1. Determine Visa Requirements:

Visa-Free Access: Some countries may offer visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to Nigerian citizens. For instance, El Salvador allows visitors from numerous jurisdictions to stay for up to 180 days without a visa.

Visa Required: Other countries will require you to obtain a visa prior to travel. For example, Venezuela mandates that travelers secure a visa before arrival.

2. Gather Necessary Documents:

Valid Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and has blank pages for visa stamps.
Photographs: Typically, two recent passport-sized photos are required.
Completed Application Form: Obtain and fill out the visa application form from the respective country's embassy or consulate.
Proof of Accommodation: Reservations or an invitation letter indicating where you'll be staying.
Proof of Sufficient Funds: Bank statements or other evidence demonstrating financial means to cover your stay.
Travel Itinerary: Details of your flight bookings and planned activities.
Travel Insurance: Some countries may require proof of travel insurance covering the duration of your trip.

3. Submit Your Application:

In-Person Submission: Some embassies or consulates may require you to submit your application in person.
Online Application: Others may offer online application portals.
Processing Time: Visa processing times can vary; it's advisable to apply well in advance of your planned departure.

4. Visa Fees:

Cost Variations: Visa fees differ by country and can change over time. It's best to check the current fees on the official embassy websites or through authorized visa service providers.

5. Assistance with the Process:

Visa Service Agencies: Several agencies specialize in assisting travelers with visa applications. Here are a few you might consider:

Local Travel Agencies: In Lagos, numerous travel agencies can assist with visa applications. Ensure you choose reputable agencies with a track record of successful visa processing.

6. Health and Safety Considerations:

Vaccinations: Some countries may require proof of vaccinations, such as Yellow Fever.
Travel Advisories: Check for any travel advisories or entry restrictions related to health or security concerns.

7. Stay Updated:

Official Sources: Always refer to the official embassy or consulate websites of your destination country for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Policy Changes: Be aware that visa policies can change; verify requirements close to your travel date.
By following these steps and utilizing available resources, you can streamline the visa application process and focus on planning an enjoyable trip. Safe travels!

True talk Chief. You’re absolutely right. Familiarity often makes us overlook the blessings around us. If we truly understood how many people don’t make it through each day, we’d be more grateful and spend less time complaining. Life is fragile, and every day we wake up is a gift. It’s a reminder to live with gratitude, talk less, pray more, and appreciate the little things.

HealthRe: Doctors, please can I continue with this drug? by SoftSport(m): 3:57pm On Dec 30, 2024
Mode4:
So I woke up yesterday with a watery discharge in my penis. Towards afternoon I became worried. Having had the same issue like a year ago I decided to take levofloxacin the drug the doctor prescribed that time.

I decided to do self prescription because I don’t really have money to visit the hospital. Otherwise I prefer hospitals than self med.

I took two tablets yesterday - one in the afternoon around 3pm and another one late in the night around 1 am.

Around 3:30am, I woke up feeling confused and with a lot of panic attack. I don’t know what happened to me. My heart was beating fast and my ears were heavy.

Right now the discharged has reduced a little but I am scared taking another tablet. I read online that the drug can cause hearing loss and that has really heightened my fears.

Doctors in the house, Abeg what advice do you have for me? Should I continue with the drug? The tablet is 500mg.
From your description, it sounds like you may have experienced side effects of levofloxacin, which is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. While it can effectively treat bacterial infections, it also has a range of potential side effects, some of which can be serious.

1. Symptoms You Experienced
Fast heart rate and panic attack: These could be side effects of the medication or anxiety related to your health concerns.
Heavy ears: This may relate to one of the known side effects, like tinnitus or other auditory issues.

2. Risks of Continuing the Drug Without Supervision
Levofloxacin has potential side effects, including:

Neurological issues: Anxiety, confusion, or panic attacks.
Hearing issues: While rare, some people may experience tinnitus or other auditory problems.
Tendon damage: This is another known risk, especially in people with certain predispositions.

3. Advice on Next Steps
Pause the medication: It’s better to stop the medication until you consult a healthcare professional. Continuing it might worsen any side effects.
Seek affordable care: If visiting a private hospital is too expensive, consider government clinics or primary health centers, which often provide more affordable services.
Communicate your history: Let the healthcare provider know about your previous infection and the prescription history. This may help them prescribe an alternative antibiotic that is safer for you
.
4. Addressing Your Current Symptoms
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to help flush the drug out of your system.
Monitor symptoms: If the fast heart rate, heavy ears, or confusion persists, go to a hospital immediately.

Avoid self-prescription in the future: Even though you had a previous prescription, using the same medication without a doctor’s supervision can lead to complications.

Alternatives
Infections causing penile discharge may require antibiotics like azithromycin or ceftriaxone, commonly used for STIs, but only a doctor can confirm the right treatment.
HealthRe: Good Day Guys. Doctors In House. Pls, What Is The Drugs For Difficult In Spea by SoftSport(m): 3:10pm On Dec 29, 2024
ObiaboAdoka:
Good day guys. Doctors in house. Pls, what is the Treatment for people having difficulty in speaking. (DYSARTHRIA).
Dysarthria is a motor speech disorder caused by muscle weakness, making it difficult for individuals to speak clearly.

The treatment depends on the underlying cause, the severity of the condition, and the specific needs of the individual. Here are some common approaches:

1. Speech Therapy
A speech-language pathologist (SLP) can develop a personalized treatment plan that includes:

Exercises to Strengthen Oral Muscles: These improve tongue, lip, and jaw strength and coordination.
Speech Techniques:
Slowing down speech.
Over-articulating words.
Using pauses to improve clarity.
Breathing Exercises: To improve breath control for speech.
Alternative Communication: Training in the use of communication boards or devices if speaking becomes too difficult.

2. Addressing Underlying Causes
Neurological Disorders: Treating the condition causing dysarthria (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or multiple sclerosis) can improve symptoms.
Medications:
Anti-spastic or muscle-relaxing drugs for conditions like cerebral palsy.
Parkinson’s medications to reduce symptoms affecting speech.
Surgical Interventions: In some cases (e.g., brain tumor or nerve damage), surgery may help.

3. Assistive Technologies
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC):
Text-to-speech devices.
Apps designed for communication.
Amplification Devices: To help individuals project their voice if it’s weak.

4. Lifestyle Changes and Support
Creating a Supportive Environment:
Reduce background noise during conversations.
Encourage the person to use shorter sentences or gestures when needed.
Group Therapy or Support Groups: These can provide motivation and practical tips for managing dysarthria.

5. Diet and Hydration Adjustments (if swallowing issues exist)
If dysarthria is accompanied by dysphagia (difficulty swallowing):

Modify food texture and fluid consistency.
Work with a dietitian or SLP to ensure safe eating practices.

When to Seek Medical Attention
If speech difficulties appear suddenly (e.g., after a stroke), seek immediate medical care.

Consult a neurologist for a comprehensive assessment if dysarthria develops gradually.

Treatment should always be tailored to the individual. A team of specialists (neurologists, SLPs, and physical therapists) can work together for the best outcomes.

TravelRe: Advice On How To Start Travel Agency by SoftSport(m): 1:15pm On Dec 28, 2024
Beeassociates:
Good day Nairalanders..
I need your good advice concerning this....
I intend to start up a travel agency very soon.
I already have a short time experience working with an IATA accredited travel agency and I am passionate about this business.
I do intend to start small, hence I won't be aiming for the IATA license for now. initial service would be flight ticketing, Although I'm thinking of including other services such as visa consultancy, tour arrangements, hotel booking, etc.. but how do I go about this?
thanks
Starting a travel agency is a great idea, especially since you already have some experience and passion for the industry.
Here are steps to help you launch successfully:

1. Conduct Market Research
Identify your target market (individuals, businesses, or specific niches like honeymooners or adventure travelers).
Research competitors to understand their services, pricing, and what makes them stand out.

2. Define Your Services
Since you're starting small, focus on flight ticketing first.
Gradually include visa consultancy, tour arrangements, hotel bookings, and travel insurance as you grow.
Ensure you offer reliable and unique services that meet your clients' needs.

3. Set Up Your Business
Register Your Business: Register your agency with the appropriate government body in Nigeria.
Get the Necessary Permits: Ensure you comply with local regulations for operating a travel agency.
Choose a Business Name: Select a catchy and professional name that resonates with travelers.

4. Partner with Airlines and Service Providers
Collaborate with consolidators or host agencies to access airline ticketing systems without an IATA license.
Build relationships with hotels, tour operators, and visa processing agents to offer additional services.

5. Invest in Technology
Use a Global Distribution System (GDS) like Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo for ticketing and reservations.
Create a user-friendly website where clients can inquire or book services.
Leverage social media platforms to promote your services and engage with potential clients.

6. Set Up a Physical or Virtual Office
A small physical space in a central location can give you credibility.
Alternatively, start as an online agency to save costs and operate from home.

7. Market Your Business
Use social media ads to reach a broader audience.
Offer promotions, discounts, or referral bonuses for new clients.
Network with corporate organizations, schools, and event planners who might need your services regularly.

8. Provide Excellent Customer Service
Be responsive, reliable, and transparent with your clients.
Keep up with industry trends to provide informed advice.
Gather and use customer feedback to improve your services.

9. Expand Gradually
As you gain experience and grow your client base, consider pursuing an IATA license for better access to airline deals.
Expand your services based on client demands.

HealthRe: Survivors Of Pfizer Vaccination Tragedy Decry Injustice 28 Years After by SoftSport(m): 9:04am On Dec 28, 2024
infotrust:
In 1996, a pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, administered a drug known as Trovan to children in Kano State, leading to deaths and permanent disability. Twenty-eight years after the incident, survivors lament how their lives have been negatively altered.

In 1996, Nigeria experienced the worst outbreak of meningitis which swept through the northern part of the country. An estimate given by the World Health Organisation in March 1996 revealed that there were 8,423 cases with 1,181 deaths. The cases were reported in Adamawa, Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Niger, Sokoto and Taraba states. Kano was the worst hit by the epidemic.

Meningitis, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention is an inflammation (swelling) of the lining of the brain and spinal cord.
Many different things can cause meningitis. It could be caused by bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections. Other causes include certain injuries and drugs. Most cases of bacterial meningitis are regarded as a medical emergency and sufferers are often advised to be treated as soon as possible.
This made the Federal Government at the time, to approve the application of the pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, which sought to enter the country and treat meningitis patients and provide preventive medication.

Unbeknownst to the recipients, the patients were part of a trial for Pfizer’s experimental antibiotic, trovafloxacin (Trovan), a drug that had not yet received approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Tragically, the consequences were devastating. The experimental drug led to the death of 11 children and left many others with lasting deformities.

What many parents had hoped would cure a deadly disease instead unleashed a wave of death, disability, and emotional anguish. The aftermath of this tragedy sparked a prolonged legal battle involving the affected families, the Kano State Government, and Pfizer, a dispute that stretched over many years. Now, 28 years after Trovan was administered to children in Kano, and despite numerous court proceedings, the victims continue to grapple with the lasting impacts of this ill-fated medical experiment.

Stunted dreams, dashed hopes
One of the children on whom Trovan was administered, Rukaya Salisu, fought back tears as she narrated how her life has been negatively altered beyond what anyone could imagine since she was given the experimental drug. Salisu suffers from a rare case of osteoporosis, malocclusion, and other physical deformities which are associated with stunted growth and abnormal formation of her upper and lower limbs. When she was 15, she asked her mother what happened to her, after she observed that all her siblings looked normal but she didn’t.
“It was then she told me that the government announced on the radio that all children that were nine months should be taken to the hospital for vaccination and I was given the Pfizer drug.
“After the vaccination, I began to have fever and she gave me paracetamol. When I was taken to the hospital, I was told that the vaccine damaged my hormones that should help my body and teeth to be strong. I was normal before the vaccination.
“Every day, my leg would break and I couldn’t walk again. My bone was no longer strong like those of normal people. That is why I’m not growing and even my teeth is not strong. My parents could not put me in school because if I’m playing with my mates, any small mistake and I fall down, I would sustain injuries,” she told News Central TV.
Today, Salisu’s parents, who once supported her education, are no longer alive. Her siblings have stepped in to shoulder the burden of her school fees, feeding, clothing, and transportation. However, the emotional toll of being heavily dependent on others weighs deeply on her.

“I wish I could work and make money, but I can’t because I’m not strong. I can’t even walk far and even when I want to bathe, I can’t carry the bucket by myself; I can’t do it. “My sisters and neighbours have been the ones helping me. In school, my roommates are the ones who hold my hands so I can walk to the lecture room,” she added, wiping away her tears. Salisu is just one of many who endured the devastating effects of Pfizer’s experimental drug.

Another victim, Bilkisu Abbas, was told by her parents that the Pfizer drug was given to her when she was about three years old. Afterwards, she could not move her leg. “It started by shrinking one of my legs and completely drying it up. Then two days after being taken to the hospital, the other leg also shrunk and dried up. There is a muscle around my knee that cannot straighten because it’s permanently bent.
“Sometimes, I would want to put on certain clothes, for instance, if I see fellow ladies wearing certain clothes that I love; I can’t wear those dresses. I end up getting embarrassed because the clothes would fall off my body. I have totally been deprived of my life,” Abbas said amid tears. Opening the lid on how her condition affected her marital life, Abbas revealed that her marriage lasted for a few months because her former husband left, stating that he could not cope with a deformed wife.
“What hurts me the most is when prospective male suitors come around me. They will end up leaving, saying they can’t marry a cripple or disabled person. My husband left me because his family said I was too much of a burden on him, so he left me,” she said.

Another victim, Hafsat Musa, recounted that she and her late brother, Abdullahi Musa, were hospitalised and treated with Pfizer’s experimental drug while battling meningitis. Abdullahi was discharged and allowed to go home, but unfortunately, he did not survive as he died the next day. “I also took the medication and then it affected me in my legs. From then, I couldn’t use my legs again,” Hafsat said.

‘Our condition robbed us of education’
Also suffering a similar fate, 29-year-old Sa’adatu Tijani, said before she was given the drug at the hospital when she had meningitis, she walked around without any problem. But after the Pfizer medication, she described how her legs began to get bad to the point that she could no longer hold on to things firmly or do things that required energy.
“It was as if my legs were cut off,” she told News Central TV. “After I was discharged from the hospital that was trying to treat me afterwards to no avail, I started learning how to move, stand, sit, and do other things that require the use of my limbs again.
“My aunt carried me on her back and took me back to the hospital gate and told them how my condition has been worsened, but they refused to let us in saying it is not their business. Each time I remember it, my heart breaks.” The 29-year-old lamented that her condition forced her to quit going to school and also prevented her from getting married. “Anyone who has interest in marrying me or comes close, finds out that I’m disabled and then they will change their minds,” Tijani added.
Also speaking in the documentary, Tijani’s father, Mr Mukhtar Danjuma, said his encounter with Pfizer had been a nightmare following the permanent disability to his daughter. “It’s been more than 22 or 25 years. Since then, we haven’t got any solution. We had to bring her back home to start treating her with Hausa alternative medicine when the orthodox medicine didn’t seem to be working.”

Sharing a similarly grim reality, another victim, Mamman Abdullahi, revealed, “Unlike my siblings, I couldn’t attend school or hold a job. I’ve also become permanently dependent on medication. Every day, I visit the orthopedic hospital for my treatment.”

A fraction of compensation
Many parents endured the heartbreak of losing their children. Among them is Ismaila Danbuzu, whose daughter, Hadija Ishmael, passed away in 1996 after being administered Trovan in Kano. Although Pfizer had argued that the meningitis, and not its antibiotic, had led to the death of 11 children and harm to dozens of others, in 2009, it reached a tentative out-of-court settlement with the Kano State Government worth $75m. It was also reported that in 2011 Pfizer compensated each of the victims and the families affected with $175,000. Danbuzu said he only received $7,000 (an equivalent of N2.4m) instead of the $175,000 promised.
“We need help. We need all the support to collect the remaining balance,” he said. “I was paid N2m and a few fractions not up to N40,000. They even called all the victims including myself in and they conducted a DNA test on us,” Tijani disclosed.
“They said they would pay us $10,000, but they paid us only $7,000,” Asabe Bala, the mother of a victim alleged.

A social justice advocate, Linus Usman, said Pfizer should have reached out to the victims during the compensation one after the other through their relatives, the hospital and the government. “It was gathered that some were not even aware of any compensation at any time,” Usman added.

Former AGF speaks

Commenting on how the Federal Government sought to get justice for the victims, a former Attorney-General of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa (SAN), explained that the issue started before his appointment in 2007. He noted that his predecessor was quite aware of the matter which happened in Kano, and that the state government had sought the support of the Federal Government to bring the directors of Pfizer and other officials who were directly involved to stand trial in Kano State.
Aondoakaa said, “The president directed the request to my office and we gave them the support they needed. The Kano State government engaged a very competent and accomplished lawyer, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who later became the Vice President.
“The matter was a federal offence so we requested to apprehend the officials and send them back to Nigeria for trials. We also obtained a warrant of arrest from the Federal High Court and the warrant was given to the office of the AG which I also sent to the Interpol to apprehend the officials.”

Explaining what happened to the full compensation promised by Pfizer, the former AGF further stated, “When I came as AGF, Pfizer officials came to me and the compensation they were trying to offer Kano State government was N100,000 per person. They based it on the fact that if a Nigerian policeman died while on duty, his compensation is N100,000.

“That made me a little pissed off. I told the officials that the children that died, some of them could have been the president of Nigeria, some could have been the richest man in Africa or the world or they could have been Secretary-General of the UN. So, cutting the lives of children short with an unauthorised medical trial cannot be compared to the Nigerian Police Force.

“They said they would build a children hospital but I told them to go build a children hospital in Kano and whatever was paid was also paid to the Kano State Government.” When News Central asked the state Commissioner for Information, Baba Dantiye, if he had information on what was paid to Kano State, he replied, “I don’t know if Kano State was given money in cash, but I knew that a hospital was built of about millions of dollars, I can’t remember the figure.”

The state Director of Public Health, Imam Wada, described the incident as the “most unfortunate phase in the history of Kano, Ministry of Health and the Federal Ministry of Health which we don’t want to be repeated ever.”

It's quite sad and unfortunate.

This story highlights a heartbreaking reality of medical experimentation or treatment gone wrong, particularly in vulnerable populations. If true, it reflects serious ethical lapses in medical practices and underscores the need for accountability, justice, and stronger regulations to prevent such tragedies.

Some key points to consider:

Ethical Concerns: Administering drugs, especially experimental ones, without proper consent or safety protocols is a violation of medical ethics. Patients should always be fully informed about potential risks before receiving any treatment.

Accountability: The refusal to provide follow-up care or take responsibility for adverse effects reflects a severe lack of accountability from the pharmaceutical company and healthcare providers involved.

Human Impact: The victims' stories show the profound and lasting consequences of medical negligence, affecting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. They face lifelong challenges, from disabilities to societal stigma, and limited opportunities.

Access to Justice: The victims deserve proper compensation, ongoing medical support, and rehabilitation. It also raises questions about access to justice in cases where large corporations are involved.

Regulatory Oversight: Incidents like this highlight the need for stricter regulations and monitoring of drug trials, especially in countries where oversight might be weaker.

This tragic situation should be a call to action for governments, NGOs, and global health organizations to ensure that no community is exploited or harmed in the name of medical advancement. It also reminds us of the importance of advocacy for those whose voices are often unheard.

VDM is Right how?

In the video l saw on the other thread, he said the NGO's website was hacked.

Does he save money on his website?

NGO accounts are corporate accounts. You need either a hardware token or soft token to transact on corporate accounts.

So first of all... What was hacked? NGO website or Bank account...

If its NGO website like he claimed... It's a lie!

If it's the NGO's corporate account.. Then he has to explain how the hackers got the OTP to transfer dujds out of the account

People will just be using the word "hacked" anyhow.
Let’s avoid letting emotions and assumptions drive our conclusions. Social media trials often create more confusion than clarity. Instead, we should allow the relevant authorities to investigate thoroughly and present their findings. Accountability is essential, but it must be based on facts, not assumptions or sensationalism.
