Iam Ugbo ,the aboriginal people of ile ife. We are not the same as Igbo of Eastern Nigeria who claimed to have originated from Israel.

The Ugbo of Ile ife are now known as Ilaje,Ijebu, Itsekiri, olukunmi, and Ikale. After migration from ife, they broke up into smaller tribes but their root remains Ugbo in Ondo State where Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom reside. It was from this Ugbo they dispersed to their present locations respectively and started bearing different names. For example, the first ijebu king is Lenuwa of Ode omi in Ogun waterside. Then we have Liken of Iwopin, ogun waterside Local Government . And later, we have Awujale of Ijebu ode. These are first and original ijebu people. Others ijebu communities and groups came to join them due to migration or wars.

Itsekiri are cousins to Ilaje and ijebu while ikale are offshoot of Olugbo of Ugbo-Ilaje. The seventh Olugbo , Oba Olugbo Ameto gave birth to Ikale while some of them claim origin from Benin and few from Ile ife.

Yoruba had always been yoruba right from the beginning though they had previous name they beared before answering the name ,yoruba . These names are Anago, Olukunmi and Omokaro-ojiire . The people oduduwa met in ile ife are yoruba! It was Oduduwa himself who was not yoruba but was welcomed into yoruba land, tradition and culture. He spent sixteen years at oba palace in Ile ero where he learned about Yoruba language and culture.

Aboriginal people of Ile ife defeated Oduduwa after ruling ife for some years and chased his children away from ile ife! If not, how come Osangangan Obamakin became Ooni immediately After Oduduwa 's death? Are you aware that Obamakin son, Olbalufon Ogbogbodirin became Ooni of ile ife immediately after his father? And, his own son Obalufon Alayemore became Ooni of ife after his father, Ogbogbodinrin's death? Where was Oduduwa children and his people during this centuries years of ruling?

Do you know as many Nigerian politicians are claiming to be Obafemi Awolowo's sons and daughters while they are not his biological children is also the same way many Yoruba are claiming Oduduwa? Why?
1 Because they see Oduduwa as father figure because of his popularity.
2. Because they have been manipulated by the Yoruba Historians who told them Oduduwa descended from heaven in chain and found ife while making their real fathers look like victims and scapegoats
3. Because they are lazy to find out the truth about their source and so believe whatever Historians tell them even with conflicting write ups.
