kennypedia:Shaving the hair of newly born children is Sunnah (or mustahab according to many schorlars). The hair is however not in pure (I stand to be corrected though). Many schorlars interpret the hadith that prescribe the shaving of hair for new born babies as only applicable to males and not females. kennypedia:I am still yet to see a proof that backs this up. I however have a question. Should someone with dada cleans his/her hair regularly, keeping it neat and free from fowl smell, ensures that water gets to the head during ablution or ghusl, is it still haram/unislamic? |

Dangote Group, controlled by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, plans to invest $3.8 billion in sugar and rice and $800 million in dairy production in the next three years as the company seeks to expand and deal with a shortage of dollars in its home market of Nigeria. The conglomerate plans to increase its production of sugar to 1.5 million metric tons a year by 2020 from 100,000 tons now and is seeking to add 1 million tons of rice, Edwin Devakumar, executive director at Dangote’s industries unit, said Tuesday in an interview in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub. The company also plans to have 50,000 cattle producing 500 million liters of milk a year by 2019, he said. A lack of foreign exchange means companies are struggling to pay for imported goods, increasing the burden on local agriculture to meet demand for food from Nigeria’s population of more than 180 million, Devakumar said. “All raw sugar has to be imported today, same thing for flour milling,” he said. Dangote, whose cement unit is Nigeria’s biggest listed company, has been investing in agriculture as the country’s government seeks to diversify away from oil, which accounts for 90 percent of the nation’s export earnings and the bulk of revenue. The economy, which plunged into its first recession in a quarter-century last year amid falling crude prices, is forecast by the World Bank to expand by 1.2 percent this year. The company has established Dangote Rice Ltd. and will list the unit on the Nigerian Stock Exchange “at the appropriate time,” Devakumar said. Dangote plans to cultivate 350,000 hectares (864,850 acres) of land for sugar cane and add 200,000 hectares for rice, according to the executive director. The company has ordered five plants for sugar milling and 10 for rice from Switzerland to be located in the north of the country, he said. Sourcing Funds The Lagos-based company will finance the projects through “internal resources or equity funding” and loans from banks and export-credit agencies, Devakumar said. The funds will be used mainly to procure “farm-development equipment” as well as sugar and rice mills, he said. Dangote is “at the planning stage’’ to invest in other agricultural projects including production of soybean, oil palm, palm kernel and corn, according to the executive director. It will support rice cultivation by supplying high-yield seeds, pesticides and fertilizers to contract farmers, he said. Aliko Dangote, 60, has a net worth of $12.1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. That ranks him just inside the top 100 worldwide. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-07-11/nigeria-s-aliko-dangote-to-invest-4-6-billion-in-agriculture

NB: Please I never said I want to commit suicide. What I said is I frequently think about suicide, and i need advice on how to stop thinking towards that direction. |
ifyalways:Thanks for your comment. I didn't take a loan to start a business. My business was 2yrs plus old when I took the loan. My business is in the the food manufacturing sector. We buy raw materials to process. We also get raw materials from suppliers whom we usually pay about 50% and pay them the balance after a week or two. Now the problems started with the drastic increase in the cost of raw materials (as a result of depreciation of naira). At a point in time, prices increased with more than 100%. We find it difficult to pass this cost to customers, and it started eating deeply into our margin. It reached a point that we are producing and selling at a loss (3-10%). If we didn't sell, we can't service our loan and we can't pay suppliers so as to get another supply. I wrongly believed that things will get better preety soon and we will start making profits thereby covering our loses. Before I realise that this is a big mistake, we've burnt out our own working capital and also burnt some of the money meant for suppliers. I have to stop here as my heart is bleeding as am typing this. Thanks onceagain. |
Thanks for the advice. ^^ I still need more contribution pls |
Since nairaland have no feature for a user to go anonymous, I decided to create a new account. I have some people on nairaland that know me personally, and I will prefer to keep my personal problems personal. I am really overwhelmed by debts as a result of the failure of my business. Several calls every day from suppliers who I couldn't pay, and a micro finance bank which I took a loan from. Every single call gives me a pain in the heart not to talk of sleepless night daily. At an age of 28, I fear having an heartache one of these days. I have tried as much as possible to make them understand my situation and give me time to raise money, revive my business and pay them, but the pressure is just too much especially pressure from the micro finance bank. Efforts to raise money for the past 3 months, including selling some machinery have been terrible, no thanks to the current economic climate. Every day I sit down, pondering over my predicaments and thinking of a way out, I keep seeing pictures of a person hanging himself in my mind. Many atimes, tears are forced to roll down my cheeks without me knowing. Is this a sign that I am contemplating suicide? If yes, I really need help from psychologist here to help and guide me towards reversing this type of thinking. With a less than 1 year old daughter to raise, it's really not an option. Thanks |
