Use (ytpak) site to download your YouTube videos. Its way more better for your data and high resolution. Copy the link from YouTube and paste on the (ytpak) search engine or just type the name of what you searching for

I agree with you on MX player. Very good app. But you don't need to root your phone to embed subtitles. Just switch on your data while playing the movie and click on subtitles.
