I want to encourage you all to look at the university scholarship websites. Many have tonnes of direct scholarships that are awarded to outstanding students. You apply with almost the same set of documents used for the government scholarship ....do not put all your eggs in one basket


Also note that if you have a long term goal of residency, watch out for certain conditions attached to some scholarships...some expect you to return to your country of origin at the end of your program.

If you are coming to Christchurch,I might be able to provide some assistance-airport pick up,temporary accommodation and some other relevant and useful information
NB: I might not be able to tell you how to get a job,if you can work and pay your fees ..and the rest of such questions. I can only objectively answer questions that I think I am knowledgeable about

Hello bro, I applied for a language(English) course of 20 weeks... My plan is extend it for another lengthy period so as to reach the threshold. Before thinking of applying for PR.

Will the proof of funding account be opened in my name? or can I show them my sponsor's acct?

Do not be deceived!!! you can not get a PR by studying English in NZ. I advice you save all the money you want to use in coming to NZ.

I did not say you will get any scholarships earlier on. UoA has a very high standard and your chances of getting a scholarship from them is quite high. You should try AUT because they have better funding opportunities. Also for a masters degree by RESEARCH student, you can work full-time while studying.

1. Can one decide to apply through NZ's embassy in UK even if he or she is based in Nigeria; instead of the one in SouthAfrica.
2. I am based in Cyprus at the moment and have completed my masters here, i want to know what i should include as proof of tie when applying to the NZ's embassy in UK since am currently in Cyprus. Cos i noticed u applied through Singapore from Malaysia.

What is the name of the school? I am 98% sure you can't see any vocational school for 5k. the average is around 18k. Nobody can deny you visa simply because you are Nigerian, don't let that affect your application.

Why not try the Mastercard and see what happens. Or you call your bank and tell them about the difficulty you are facing. Sometimes it could just be a problem with the payment gateway.

I am PhD student in NZ so i am not sure how it works for Bsc or Nursing students. I don't want to mislead you with my answers.

1. I am not sure about how it works for Bsc. student's spouse.
2. If your spouse comes on a visitors visa, he will not be eligible to apply for jobs.
3. I am not sure about the kids arrangements for Bsc. students
4. The application cost is in the Immigration website. I have forgotten how much i paid for mine.
5. There is shortage of nurses in New Zealand, therefore you have a good chance of getting a nice job afterwards.

I have read through the immigration website but uncertain about the following, I wonder if you will be kind enough to shed some light?

1) If the spouse of international students studying for Bsc on the skills shortage list are eligible for work visa? If yes, what are the work rights attached to the work visa in question?

2) If the spouse of the international student in question is eligible for a visitor visa ( i.e in the event of ineligiblity for a work visa) , if yes, what are the work rights?

Ayesa: I have a good relationship with a Professor in the Chemical and Materials department at Uni of Auckland (The department deals more on composite materials). I am sure with my reference he will be happy to take you as we are good friends. However, I do not know anything about you so it will be best to talk more about your research proposal. If you are Ok talking about yourself and dropping a copy of your transcript here, then you are happy to do so. I will not want some "Lame" people here saying i am referring you to my email because i want recharge card money.

Please be straight forward when you ask me any questions as i get heaps of emails daily and will not be able to do any research to answer your questions.

Hi Bro.. i will give you the straight forward answer. Based on your field i am not really sure about the job market here. You can try to pay for her Masters degree by Research which will allow here work full time while studying. You can go through their shortage skill list (Google it) and see what professions they need here. Engineering is the Ish here and if you are in the construction industry it is a very big bonus. If you really want to move i will advice you run a Masters degree course in Nigeria (part time) even if it is a private uni when you are sure about the time frame. after that you can do your PhD here which will allow you work full time and you can bring your whole family here with your Visa.

You don't need to travel to apply for your visa. just send everything via DHL. including hard copy of your passport. processing time takes about 15-20 days.

Approx. NZD 29,000 and yes you will need 15k minimum for visa application
