BusinessThe Secret To Success Isn't What You Think—it's Simpler by soloroya(op): 11:05am On Oct 10, 2024
In a world obsessed with success, we’re often bombarded with advice about working harder, staying up late, and “hustling” our way to the top. Social media is full of motivational quotes, images of people waking up at 4 AM, and endless lists of productivity hacks. But here’s the uncomfortable truth no one is telling you:

The key to success has nothing to do with any of that.

In fact, the people who succeed in the biggest ways aren't necessarily the ones grinding the hardest. Instead, they’ve mastered something much more fundamental—and it’s something you can implement starting today.

Success Isn't About Hustling, It's About Prioritizing

Think of the most successful people you know. Do they look constantly stressed, overwhelmed, and burned out? Probably not. That’s because they’ve learned how to focus on what really matters.

The myth of hustle culture tells us that doing more equals achieving more. But let me ask you this: how many projects have you started and left unfinished because you were juggling too many tasks? How many times have you said yes to things that drained your energy because you felt guilty for not doing enough?

Now, imagine if you put all that energy into just one or two things that genuinely move the needle. That’s where the real magic happens.

The Power of Saying "No"

When you start saying “no” to distractions and unnecessary commitments, you create room for focus. The most successful people aren’t working 24/7—they’ve simply mastered the art of saying “no” to anything that doesn’t serve their goals.

Warren Buffet once said, "The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything." Buffet is one of the richest people in the world, and yet, he attributes much of his success to focusing on a few key areas instead of spreading himself too thin.

Action Step: Do a Priority Detox

Look at your to-do list right now. How many tasks are truly essential to your goals? How many are simply there because you feel you should do them, or because they sound impressive?

Today, I challenge you to pick just three things to focus on. Everything else? Let it go. The fewer things you commit to, the more power and attention you can give them.

And that’s the secret: success isn’t about doing everything—it’s about doing the right things, consistently.

Balance Is the Real Hustle

Now, this doesn’t mean you won’t work hard. Of course, you will. But instead of burning out by trying to do it all, you’ll have more energy and mental clarity to excel in the areas that count.

The next time someone tells you that success requires sacrificing sleep, working around the clock, and hustling nonstop, remember: the people who achieve the most are those who know when to step back, when to say no, and when to focus.

Final Thought

In a world that glorifies being busy, be different. Prioritize what truly matters and let go of the rest. Not only will you be more successful, but you’ll also find more joy and fulfillment along the way.

BusinessWhy You're Not Stuck—you Just Haven't Realized This Yet by soloroya(op): 3:44am On Oct 09, 2024
Let’s get real for a moment. How many times have you looked at your life and felt stuck? Maybe your job feels like a dead end, your relationships are draining, or your dreams seem further away than ever. You tell yourself, “I’ll never get out of this,” or “Maybe this is just how life is.”

But here’s the truth: You’re not stuck.

You’re just comfortable.

Comfort Is the Real Trap

The funny thing about comfort is that it disguises itself as safety. We stay in jobs we hate, relationships that drain us, and routines that bring us zero joy—all because we fear the unknown. We convince ourselves that “it’s not that bad,” and so we settle. But here’s the thing:

Comfort is the enemy of growth.

Staying comfortable feels safe, but it keeps you from the breakthroughs you’re desperate for. You’ll never become the person you want to be while clinging to your current reality. Growth demands discomfort.

The Pain of Staying Stuck vs. the Fear of Change

Let’s get brutally honest for a second: Staying where you are, miserable, unfulfilled, and frustrated, is way more painful than taking the risk to change.

Yes, change is scary. What if it doesn’t work out? What if you fail? What if you make the wrong decision?

But ask yourself this: What if you don’t change? What if you’re in the exact same place one year from now? Is that a future you’re excited about?

That realization is what wakes most people up. The fear of staying stuck forever becomes more unbearable than the fear of trying something new.

Here’s How to Break Free

1. Recognize Your Comfort Zone: Acknowledge that what’s holding you back isn’t the outside world—it’s your own fear of discomfort. The first step to change is realizing that being “stuck” is a choice.

2. Embrace Fear: Fear is a sign that you’re on the edge of something important. Instead of avoiding it, use it as a compass. If it scares you, it means you’re growing.

3. Take One Bold Step: Change doesn’t have to happen overnight. Start small. Maybe it’s signing up for that class, having that difficult conversation, or applying for a new job. One bold move is all it takes to set the wheels in motion.

4. Stop Waiting for the “Right Time”: There’s never a perfect time to change your life. Conditions will never be ideal. Start now, with what you have, and figure out the rest along the way.

Final Thought: You Deserve More

You weren’t born to just exist—to wake up, go to a job you hate, and repeat that cycle until you’re old. You’re here to grow, to explore, and to push the limits of what’s possible for you.

And deep down, you already know that.

It’s time to break free from the illusion of being stuck and take control of your life. The only thing holding you back is the fear of what’s on the other side of comfort. But trust me—the life you want is waiting for you there.
BusinessThe Art Of Risk Management: Beyond The Financial Markets by soloroya(op): 2:50pm On Jun 27, 2024
Risk management is a critical skill, not only in the world of finance but in various aspects of life. Whether you've experienced the sting of financial loss or encountered challenges in personal decisions, understanding and applying risk management principles can lead to more informed choices and greater stability.

Understanding Risk Management

Risk management involves identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks, followed by coordinated efforts to minimize, monitor, and control the probability of unfortunate events. It’s not just a concept for traders and investors; it’s a life skill that can save you from significant setbacks and guide you towards achieving your goals.

Financial Loss: A Learning Opportunity

Many people step into the financial markets with dreams of quick wealth, only to face losses due to unforeseen risks. These losses often stem from a lack of knowledge, emotional decision-making, or ignoring risk management principles. However, these experiences can be valuable lessons. By understanding what went wrong and applying risk management strategies, you can turn past losses into future gains.

### Risk Management in Everyday Life

1. Career Choices:
- Risk: Choosing a career without understanding job market trends or future opportunities.
- Management:Research the industry, seek advice, and consider multiple career paths to mitigate the risk of unemployment or job dissatisfaction.

2. Health Decisions:
- Risk: Ignoring health risks can lead to chronic diseases or medical emergencies.
- Management: Regular check-ups, a balanced diet, and exercise are risk management practices that improve health and prevent costly medical issues.

3. Relationships:
- Risk: Investing time and emotion in relationships without considering compatibility can lead to heartbreak.
- Management: Taking time to understand and communicate with partners can mitigate emotional risk and build stronger relationships.

4. Education:
- Risk: Committing to a field of study without exploring interests or job prospects.
- Management: Researching potential careers and aligning education with passion and market demand can reduce the risk of dissatisfaction and financial strain.

Applying Financial Risk Management Principles to Life

1. Diversification:
- In finance, diversification reduces risk by spreading investments across various assets. In life, diversify your skills, interests, and investments to buffer against uncertainties.

2. Hedging:
- Hedging involves taking steps to offset potential losses. In life, consider backup plans and insurance policies to protect against unforeseen events.

3. Risk Tolerance:
- Understanding your risk tolerance helps in making informed decisions. Assess your comfort level with uncertainty in both financial and personal decisions.

4. Stop-Loss Strategy:
- A stop-loss limits financial losses by setting a threshold where you exit a position. In life, know when to walk away from unproductive situations or relationships to avoid further loss.

Businesshow To Use Your Smartphone For Professional Video Production[color=#00009 by soloroya(op): 4:44am On Jun 16, 2023
In today's digital age, smartphones have become powerful tools that allow us to do much more than just make calls and send messages. With the advancement in camera technology, you can now use your smartphone to produce high-quality videos for professional purposes. Whether you're a content creator, a small business owner, or an aspiring filmmaker, leveraging the capabilities of your smartphone can help you create compelling video content without breaking the bank. 📱💼

1. Choose the Right Smartphone

Not all smartphones are created equal when it comes to video production capabilities. When selecting a smartphone for professional video production, consider factors such as camera quality, resolution, frame rate, stabilization, and storage capacity. Look for devices that offer high-resolution cameras, optical image stabilization, and ample storage space for your video files.

2. Master the Basics of Composition and Lighting

Composition and lighting play crucial roles in creating visually appealing videos. Familiarize yourself with the rule of thirds, which involves dividing the frame into a 3x3 grid and placing key elements along the grid lines or at the intersections. Experiment with different angles and perspectives to add depth and interest to your shots.

Ensure adequate lighting for your videos. Natural light is often the best option, so consider shooting outdoors or near windows during the daytime. If shooting indoors, use additional lighting sources like lamps or professional LED lights to illuminate your subject.

3. Utilize Manual Controls and Third-Party Apps

Most smartphones offer manual controls for adjusting settings such as exposure, focus, white balance, and shutter speed. Explore these options to have more control over your video production. Experiment with different settings to achieve the desired look and feel for your videos.

Additionally, consider using third-party apps that offer advanced video recording and editing features. Apps like Filmic Pro, ProCam, and Adobe Premiere Rush can enhance your smartphone's capabilities and provide you with more control and flexibility during the production process.

4. Invest in Additional Equipment

While smartphones are capable of producing great videos on their own, investing in some additional equipment can further enhance the quality of your productions. Consider purchasing a tripod or a stabilizer to minimize camera shake and ensure steady footage. External microphones can significantly improve audio quality, which is essential for professional videos.

5. Plan and Storyboard Your Videos

Professional video production requires careful planning and organization. Before you start shooting, create a storyboard outlining the shots, angles, and sequences you want to capture. This will help you stay focused and ensure a smoother production process. Plan your shots, and think about the narrative or message you want to convey through your videos.

6. Edit and Enhance Your Videos

Editing is a crucial step in the video production process. There are numerous video editing apps available for smartphones that offer a wide range of features and effects. Experiment with different editing techniques, such as adding transitions, adjusting color grading, and incorporating music or voiceovers to make your videos more engaging and professional-looking.

Jobs/Vacancies[updated] 5 Ways To Become A Big-pocket Job Seeker by soloroya(op): 10:49am On May 10, 2022
Being unemployed can be stressful and frustrating.

If care is not taken it could lead to low performance, even when a job opportunity is shown up.

(A typical scenario where a job seeker had to borrow money for tp to an interview, perhaps he has not gotten a good night rest, also.)

And

Probably, part of the interviewer's strategy is to check the individual applicant's endurance. Such a candidate is not likely to perform at his peak.

Should you blame the interviewer or yourself for poor performance? - NO! Of course not.

There are solutions to every life challenge, but you may likely lack access to solutions or you don't like the available solution.

But here are 5 proven side hustles that have liberated me from being a poor job seeker to a more confident and comfortable one.

"The job search process is about working smarter, not harder" - Anonymous.

1. Estate Agent
You don't need prior experience to become an estate agent.

When you're unemployed, I would like to say this is an opportunity for you to explore other grounds. Expand your horizons, tap here and there! You will never learn less but only learn more.

Your most needed skill is basic communication skills (verbal or written).

And secondly, you need access to a property, either the one owned by an uncle, friend's parents, or any relatives that want to sell. Or you are affiliated with other agents.

2. Uber Driving
The priority skill in this hustle is the driving skill.

So many job Seekers had turned this venture into full-time jobs. Nothing helps more than having a clear mind. The bottom line in this state is to have money in the pocket and that can help in today's economy.

To attract prosperity, you need to be in an abundant mood which is not easy to fake.
"Most people you will convey are affluent people and they are in one profession or the other.

You never can tell, some may have a connection elsewhere. Some may have heard of a vacancy - you never can tell.

You need to be creative in advertising yourself. Get a sticker, that's bold and catchy enough, and place it where everyone can see it inside and outside of your car.

For example: "A Prestigious Agriculturist!". The essence of it is to spark a conversation. "

3. Errands
Establish a small errand service. There are a couple of websites like this online, but not so many worked well yet for Nigerians. We serve errands every day, free of charge. You can turn it into a support system to buttress your pocket while on the lookout for a job.

4. Freelancing
Sometimes if you've never tried something, you will feel you are lacking the ability to do such things.

You can start a freelancing service without any money or special skills or abilities.

From my experience, I found FIVERR to be the most effective of all. Ranking your gigs on such sites is ridiculously easy compared to Google and other search giants.
If you design your gigs properly, you should start seeing traffic in 5 - 6 weeks.

5. Copywriting
"Copywriting is a skill that can be learned. It can be rendered as a service or used as it is. It is needed in all fields of life -you can never go wrong learning to write copy. The skill could make your CV stand out from the crowd. "

A highly recommended place to get a writing offer is Linkedin.com. There are lots, I mean lots of companies are looking for copywriters. Learn the basics (AIDA, So what? And P.A.S.T.O.R).

To your job search success!

Please feel free to contact me, If you need help in setting up any of the services above. You can DM me:07037426480

HealthTop Expert Tip On How To Lose Weight by soloroya(op): 11:26am On Oct 06, 2020
Obesity is a big health problem both for individuals and for society as a whole. In fact Australians are gaining weight faster than the rest of the world. So why don't we do something about it?

In short, because losing weight can be hard. Anyone who's ever tried can attest to that.

Simply put, in order to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume. Heard that before? It's true but in real life it's also far more complicated than that.

Instead of counting calories, we've found that using food group units is more effective. By eating a targeted amount of food from all 6 food groups you will not only lose weight but also ensure nutritional balance.

Research shows that a combination of low GI and higher protein meals is the best way to reduce both body weight and feelings of hunger when on a diet. The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet distributes protein evenly across all meals for even greater effect.

Low GI foods are foods made up of carbohydrates that take longer to digest, like wholegrain bread, natural muesli, oats and Basmati rice. By combining these foods with lean proteins, like beef, chicken, eggs and tofu you’ll feel fuller for longer. Without this combination, chances are you’ll end up hungry again soon after your last meal.
How do I get started losing weight?

There are a few practicalities that will help when you first commit to a weight loss plan, like getting rid of temptations by cleaning out the pantry and fridge, and establishing where you are now and what your goals are.

The most important point is to get started – and right now is as good a time as any. It's easy to put it off because life is busy at the moment, but if you think about it, when is life not busy?

Start by setting small but achievable weight loss goals and be consistent in weighing yourself - or taking body measurements if you prefer that instead.

Changing your daily habits can have a big effect on your waistline as well. It doesn't take much to shop smarter and healthier, learning to cook some quick and healthy meals, and including protein and low GI foods in your meals which will decrease your feelings of hunger.

If you need some simple tips from people who have been successful with the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, our members suggest taking it one day at a time, making exercise a non-negotiable appointment, cooking ahead for busy days and exercising in the morning when nothing else can get in the way.
What if I have lots to lose?

First, drop the 'huge' label, and start thinking about your weight loss in terms of smaller, more achievable goals. 5 percent goals are a great start so if you weigh 100 kg now aim for a loss of 5 kg to begin with.

You'll also need a firm plan. Half-hearted efforts are likely to fail so set a date in the near future to give yourself time to plan. Figure out a schedule that allows time for daily meal preparation and a few exercise sessions every week.

We also recommend you fill in our CSIRO Diet Types assessment as it will tell you some things about your relationship to food which you may not know from before.

What actually happens when I lose weight?

Losing weight is not about stripping down to the bare bones - it's about finding a healthy weight that you're happy with. For some that means being active in sports - for others it simply means reducing the risk of obesity-related illness in the future.

Typical health benefits of losing weight are better sleep and daily mood, increased sex drive and fertility, a decrease in food cravings and a reduction in obesity-related illnesses.

Losing weight means reducing your risk of type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis, certain cancers and heart disease.
What if I just cannot lose weight?

If you've tried to lose weight before without success it is completely understandable that you'd be hesitant to try again. Being scared of failing is perfectly normal especially when it comes to a challenge such as weight loss.

Feeling hungry and being time-poor are common reasons people don't stick to a diet long-term. So finding a plan that is scientifically proven to work, like the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, can give you the confidence you need to try again and succeed this time.

Often if someone doesn't understand why they've failed to lose weight it is because they simply don't know what to do. Without a solid framework in place it is difficult to deal with everyday temptations and all the unhealthy options out there.

If food cravings tend to be your downfall, think about what usually triggers them. Is it stress? Boredom? Lack of sleep? Knowing why cravings strike can help you create strategies for dealing with them – or avoiding them altogether.

Finally, there’s no single approach to weight loss that works for everyone. At the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet we offer different meal and exercise plans that are scientifically tested for maximum body fat loss.

Our Protein Balance plan is a higher protein, low GI plan that distributes protein evenly between all meals to ensure you stay full throughout the day. We also offer a high protein, high fibre Gut Health plan that aims to improve your gut bacteria which again can help you lose weight.
What doesn't work

There is plenty of advice out there that doesn't work or at least isn't very productive long term. For example, fat has been vilified for decades but we now understand that cutting out fat is counterproductive as fats in food are often replaced with sugar.

We've compared a few other diets to the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, like the paleo diet and the 5:2 fasting diet, to see what the benefits and drawbacks of those diets are.

What we found is that many popular diets can help you lose weight but often only for a while. Unsustainable changes to your diet, like cutting out whole food groups, tend to be a short-term fix. What you need is a diet that comes as close as possible to a lifestyle that you can realistically live.

The paleo diet, for example, has similarities with our own CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet in that it focuses on whole foods and a relatively higher intake of protein.

We've also looked at whether detoxing or avoiding sugar, dairy or wheat and gluten can be beneficial to lose weight and found that while these approaches have some positives the drawbacks are simply too many.

Common for all these approaches to losing weight is that they don't offer a complete package. Ditching a whole food group, like dairy for example, means it's easy to lose out on important nutrients - and of course lose out on foods that you love to eat.

Eating isn’t just about nutrients. For many it’s also about enjoyment and social occasions - like eating out - so being able to enjoy what you eat is crucial for a long-term healthy relationship to food.

That doesn't mean that, say, we recommend you drink sugary beverages (we don’t!) but it means that total bans on certain foods or even food groups make everyday life that much harder.
Should I get help?

Anyone seeking to lose weight should bring it up with their doctor to see if they have any underlying medical issues that could complicate a weight loss program.

When it comes to closer personal support an Accredited Practising Dietitian is your best bet as a dietitian will be able to work around your specific circumstances.

The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet Premium service offers access to a dietitian who can give personal advice on how you should approach the program.
How do I stay motivated in the long run?

Knowing why you want to lose weight should be your main motivation - and writing them down helps you remember when you're not feeling it any longer.

Keeping track of your progress is also key. Always focus on your long term progress and don't pay too much attention to the day-to-day or week-to-week fluctuations as these can be misleading.

A good example of when people lose their motivation is when winter comes and it gets cooler outside. Typically this means you’re less likely to want to be active and more likely to crave comforting foods. Being prepared for times like these is crucial.

Finally, be kind to yourself when you mess up. Everyone does and that is part of the journey.

There are many ways to earn an income with online courses.

You can set them up on your own website, as a paid email course, or on a special website that promotes courses like Udemy. You can earn money from a course directly, or you can make money on the back end (or both).

Paid Course

You can earn money directly with a paid course. There are course websites like Udemy, Fedora, and many others. Look for "sell your course online" and you'll find a lot of them to help you. You can also set up your course on your own website using a membership website feature like AWeber, InstaMember, or even just a PayPal button with a password only website.

Free Course

You can still earn money with a free course. By giving your audience a short free course via email, or in a membership on your website, you can use the course to build your email list. You can then promote other things to them via the course and the email list. For example, on each email that you send about the course, you can include a link to your paid courses.

Backend

Remember that for any page on your site (such as the page where you send people to collect the next free module of your course), you can put recommended products that match things that your audience will need if they are to become successful at whatever you are promoting through your course.

All Three

You can earn money through all three methods if you want to. It doesn't matter if a paid course is delivered or not; you can still add complementary products to the delivery page, or via an email newsletter that the students sign up to receive.

Complementary Items

For example, if you are selling a course about how to write and sell a book on Kindle, you can promote services related to the venture, such as contractors who will do the work for them. You can also promote software that helps them, or peripheral products that they may be interested in.

Future Courses

A series of courses are an excellent way to earn more money through online courses. This works very well if the first course is free, then to learn more they have to pay for the upgraded future course.

You can always make money with courses. You just have to think about what your audience needs outside of the course, and you can promote those things to them as well. You can make money from the course directly, and then make money indirectly by promoting complementary products, services and more courses.

Creating an online course is a great way to start your business but there are best practices that lead to success and things you should avoid. To help you make a course that will deliver the results you're looking for visit to learn more.

Business To Business15 Common Velcro Uses by soloroya(op): 6:31pm On Nov 03, 2014
Velcro that is otherwise known as a hook-and-loop fastener is not new to many of us. It has been around for decades and more common (now), in most household items.

I have compiled about 15 common Velcro uses that applied to our everyday needs.

Manufacturers of children’s shoes use Velcro instead of the shoelaces. It makes it very quick and easy to put on the shoes.
It can be used to keep the garden hoses coiled
You can also use Velcro to attach shower radio to the shower walls
Industrial Velcro can be used to stick pictures to the wall
It can be used to beautifully hang curtain valance, especially when you select a color that match.
It can be used to hang remote control to the wall for easy access – or from reach of children.
Velcro is now highly used in Clothing iron cord wrap
Velcro is used to Secure paper from unrolling
It can be used to bundle plants or floral parts
Temporary hanging of window coverings
It is highly efficient in organizing tools in the garage
In case of emergencies, Velcro can be used to secure flashlight to wall for quick access.
It can be used to secure Gate door as to keep it open or closed (often times, industrial Velcro does that.)
Velcro is used for tying shoelaces and also instead of buttons. This is a good ideal use for people with disabilities.
It can be used to hang soft toys, signs or greeting cards on the wall, without drilling holes into the walls.
